Book Life s Ever Changing Emotions

Download or read book Life s Ever Changing Emotions written by Ronald Black and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2013-02-26 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Poetry is something that we all share, each time that we think a thought. We think in poetry, only some of us are not able to put it in words but thoughts of poetry live in our hearts. We are filled with emotions and that is what poetry is. You need to just open your heart to the words written for they are the words coming from a heart just like you. From our pain and our sacrifices to our joy and happiness, when you read this we will be able to see that we are all the same seeking love and a dream that we can claim. There are times when we may feel lost and there is nothing that we can do. The truth is that there will always be options for us to choose. Only with our ever changing emotions at the time we are blind to see. For every action there is an opposite reaction. There are things that we know that we can do yet we get caught up in the things that we are going through. There are times when we are happy and times when we are sad. It is a delicate balance in the lives that we live. Each of us will need to come to grips with the way that we feel. We are never alone although we think at the time that we are alone. We need to find the courage to reach out and say that we are here. Is there anyone out there that care about the lives that we live? At the end of the day if we listen closely we will be able to hear a voice saying that I am here, you are not alone. Ever changing emotions is what will live in our hearts. We just have to decide the things that we want to do and find the courage to follow them through. The Life that I have had to live has been very difficult but the love in my heart kept me strong even when I sometimes may have felt alone. I have cried my share of tears and I have suffered many years but I kept the love in my heart. We are human and we make mistakes but as long as we live there will always be another road for us to take. I pray that the poems that you are reading help you to understand that we all go through lifes ever changing emotions. We have to live in the moment and if that moment continues to last then we should remember that our lives are made up of our past, present and our future. For as long as we live we can change the way that we feel. Love and forgiveness is what we should always hold most precious in our lives. Love and forgiveness can forever live in our hearts. Poetry is something that we all share, each time that we think a thought.

Book Freedom and Democracy in an Imperial Context

Download or read book Freedom and Democracy in an Imperial Context written by Robert Nichols and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-03-26 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Freedom and Democracy in an Imperial Context: Dialogues with James Tully gathers leading thinkers from across the humanities and social sciences in a celebration of, and critical engagement with, the recent work of Canadian political philosopher James Tully. Over the past thirty years, James Tully has made key contributions to some of the most pressing questions of our time, including: interventions in the history of moral and political thought, contemporary political philosophy, democracy, citizenship, imperialism, recognition and cultural diversity. In 2008, he published Public Philosophy in a New Key, a two-volume work that promises to be one of the most influential and important statements of legal and political thought in recent history. This work, along with numerous other books and articles, is foundational to a distinctive school of political thought, influencing thinkers in fields as diverse as Anthropology, History, Indigenous Studies, Law, Philosophy and Political Science. Critically engaging with James Tully’s thought, the essays in this volume take up what is his central, and ever more pressing, question: how to enact democratic practices of freedom within and against historically sedimented and actually existing relationships of imperialism?

Book Why We Make Movies

Book excerpt: A sparkling collection of interviews with African American directors and producers. Bringing together more than thirty candid conversations with filmmakers and producers such as Spike Lee, Gordon Parks, Julie Dash, Charles Burnett, and Robert Townsend, Why We Make Movies delivers a cultural celebration with the tips of a film-school master class. With journalist George Alexander, these revolutionary men and women discuss not only how they got their big breaks, but more importantly, they explore the creative process and what making movies means to them. Why We Make Movies also addresses the business of Hollywood and its turning tide, in a nation where African Americans comprise a sizable portion of the film-going public and go to the movies more frequently than whites. In addition, Alexander’s cast of directors and producers considers the lead roles they now play in everything from documentaries and films for television to broad-based blockbusters (in fact, the highest-grossing film in Miramax history was Scary Movie, directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans). For film buffs and aspiring filmmakers alike, Why We Make Movies puts a long-overdue spotlight on one of the most exciting and cutting-edge segments of today’s silver screen. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: MASTERING EMOTIONS Emotions are an integral part of every human being and affect every aspect of our life. Emotional quotient (EQ) is as important as intelligence quotient (IQ), if not more, for a happy and successful life. However, most people don't know how to handle emotions with maturity, that's why their emotions often get out of control. Most of us know only two ways of dealing with unpleasant emotions. First is to suppress them, which eventually leads to physical and mental disorders. The other is to vent them indiscriminately, which hurts others and destroys our relations. In this book, with the help of spiritual wisdom, we will learn 8 powerful methods of releasing painful emotions in the best manner. We will also come to know how to understand and deal with emotions in the right manner, and thereby develop emotional maturity. This knowledge will help us cultivate inner strength and master our emotions, instead of suffering from them. That's not all. We will also learn the art of gaining wisdom, self-confidence, and love from even negative emotions. Lastly, we will discover how to remain happy in spite of the presence of any kind of emotion, by realizing our true, divine self. This is emotional freedom. So, let's begin the journey to emotional freedom through spiritual wisdom. It is this, which will help you lead a blissful and fulfilling life… filled with nectar!

Book excerpt: It's no secret that we are addicted to control. We work to control our time, our TVs, our weight, and even our faith lives. We strive for efficiency and quantifiable results. But all that control, we soon find out, is exhausting. And it is contrary to God's plan for us. In Chaos and Grace, Mark Galli offers readers freedom from the need for control and order by reintroducing them to the mysterious work of the Holy Spirit. In this insightful book, Galli exposes our individual mistakes and the church's foibles and points the way to grace--which, as it happens, usually lies through chaos and crisis. Through Scripture he shows us that this problem is not unique to modern believers and helps us learn from the stories of God's people through the ages as they gave up and gave in to the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.

  • Author : Jon Rod Christie
  • Publisher : WestBow Press
  • Release : 2016-06-16
  • ISBN : 1512744557
  • Pages : 105 pages

Download or read book God and Freedom written by Jon Rod Christie and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2016-06-16 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My wife and I have a plan to one Christmas ride a Midnight Express to Salt Lake City. We are Christians, not Mormons, but we will spend a few days where thousands meet in His name and hear His music. We will attend Christmas by the Tabernacle Choir. Life is like a train station where two tracks run in opposite directions. One train runs uphill to where Christ dwells. Another train runs downhill to where he is ignored. Folks who board the downhill train are fully aware of the uphill train, but insist that theirs is the proper train. As the land they travel into turns dark and chaotic, they imagine that error is truth, that bitter is sweet, and that despair is the norm. As the uphill train travels its passengers see a new land where clear waters run deep, where the sun is bright and warm, where people come and go as they please, and where there is singing and joy. God and Freedom, What matters in Life, by Jon Christie is a powerful book about life and how to live it. It is a profound analysis of many facets of life and a guide to truth. I will use it as a reference. The discussion of science to demonstrate the need of a Creator interpretation was accurate and clear, and helpful to the layman. I recommend that everyone read this book. Keith Walker, author, T-Man of Steel, and Just Forgiven
