Book Some Thermodynamic and Other Properties of Freon 114

Download or read book Some Thermodynamic and Other Properties of Freon 114 written by Frank Herman Durgin and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has been proposed to use Freon 114 as the dense gas in a sled test in which a real reentry vehicle will be flown into a plywood shock tube filled with a dense gas. The nuclear blast head-on intercept would be simulated by the vehicle intercepting a blast wave in the tube. Tables of real gas properties of pure Freon 114, normal shock relations for pure Freon 114, and real gas properties of Air-Freon mixtures were developed to make possible accurate predictions of the extent of simulation that can be achieved in this experiment. The real gas properties are tabulated for pressures from 1 to 4000 psi over a temperature range from about 0 to 700F. The normal shock tables use initial conditions of 12.7 psi and 70.3F and cover the range of shocks up to a Mach number of 6. The tables are designed for use in calculating reflected shocks. The Air-Freon 114 property table includes the effect of the percent of air by weight on the speed of sound and ratio of specific heats of the mixture for several temperatures of 12.7 psi. For pure Freon 114, a table of viscosity and a plot showing the absorption in the infrared portion of the spectrum are also included. (Author).

Book Progress in International Research on Thermodynamic and Transport Properties

Download or read book Progress in International Research on Thermodynamic and Transport Properties written by Eric F. Lype and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 773 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Progress in International Research on Thermodynamic and Transport Properties covers the proceedings of the 1962 Second Symposium by the same title, held at Purdue University and the Thermophysical Properties Research Center. This symposium brings together theoretical and experimental research works on the thermodynamic and transport properties of gases, liquids, and solids. This text is organized into nine parts encompassing 68 chapters that cover topics from thixotropy to molecular orbital calculations. The first three parts review papers on theoretical, experimental, and computational studies of the various aspects of thermodynamic properties. These parts discuss the principles of phase equilibria, throttling, volume heat capacity, steam, volumetric behavior, enthalpy, and density. The subsequent part highlights the theoretical evaluations of transport properties, such as viscosity, diffusion, and conductivity, as well as the transport processes. These topics are followed by surveys of the theories in intermolecular forces and their applications. Other parts consider the measurement of thermal conductivity, viscosity, and radiation. The final parts examine the properties of ionized gases and non-Newtonian fluids. This book will prove useful to mechanical and chemical engineers.

Book Computer Program for Determining the Thermodynamic Properties of Freon Refrigerants

Download or read book Computer Program for Determining the Thermodynamic Properties of Freon Refrigerants written by and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This program was written to be used as a subroutine. The program determines the thermodynamics of Freon refrigerants. The following refrigerants can be analyzed F-11, F-12, F-13, F-14, F-21, F-22, F-23, F-113, and F-114. The subroutine can evaluate a thermodynamic state for these refrigerants given any of the following pairs of state quantities: pressure and quality, pressure and entropy, pressure and enthalpy, temperature and quality, temperature and specific volume, and temperature and pressure. These six pairs of knowns allow the user to analyze any thermodynamic cycle utilizing a refrigerant as the working fluid. The Downing form of the Martin equation of state was used. This report contains a brief description, flow chart and listing of all subroutines required.
