Book Subharmonic Functions

Download or read book Subharmonic Functions written by W. K. Hayman and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-06-28 with total page 618 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Building on the foundation laid in the first volume of Subharmonic Functions, which has become a classic, this second volume deals extensively with applications to functions of a complex variable. The material also has applications in differential equations and differential equations and differential geometry. It reflects the increasingly important role that subharmonic functions play in these areas of mathematics. The presentation goes back to the pioneering work of Ahlfors, Heins, and Kjellberg, leading to and including the more recent results of Baernstein, Weitsman, and many others. The volume also includes some previously unpublished material. It addresses mathematicians from graduate students to researchers in the field and will also appeal to physicists and electrical engineers who use these tools in their research work. The extensive preface and introductions to each chapter give readers an overview. A series of examples helps readers test their understatnding of the theory and the master the applications.

Book Growth Theory of Subharmonic Functions

Download or read book Growth Theory of Subharmonic Functions written by Vladimir S. Azarin and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-12-14 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book an account of the growth theory of subharmonic functions is given, which is directed towards its applications to entire functions of one and several complex variables. The presentation aims at converting the noble art of constructing an entire function with prescribed asymptotic behaviour to a handicraft. For this one should only construct the limit set that describes the asymptotic behaviour of the entire function. All necessary material is developed within the book, hence it will be most useful as a reference book for the construction of entire functions.

Book On Growth of Subharmonic Functions in Space

Download or read book On Growth of Subharmonic Functions in Space written by Iman Abdulhafiz Itani and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let u be a subharmonic function in m-dimensional real space. The study of the gr owth of u from the point of view of classical value distribution theory is a sub ject of great interest. The idea is to compare the Lp means of u on a sphere of radius r with the Reisz mass of u in that same sphere. In the two dimensional ca se, numerous results are known. But they do not all carry over to higher dimensi ons. Certain difficulties arise in higher dimensions which do not occur in dimen sion 2. For example, a subharmonic function in the Euclidean space of dimension more than 4 may fail to be square integrable over a sphere. In this thesis we propose to study such growth problems outlining the similariti es and differences between the two dimensional case and the higher dimensional c ases. The study will involve: (i) a survey of the main functionals used in class ical value distribution theory and the corresponding inequalities satisfied by t hem. (ii) definitions of corresponding functionals in the setting of subharmonic functions in m dimensional real space and statements of main theorems governing them. (iii) Calculation of spherical harmonics for a special class of such func tions. (iv) Effect of one kind of symmetrization of the Reisz mass on the size o f spherical harmonics for two classes of subharmonic functions. (v) Statement an d proof of main growth results; in particular, the L2-result when m = 2, 3, 4.

Book Research Problems in Function Theory

Download or read book Research Problems in Function Theory written by Walter K. Hayman and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-09-07 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1967 Walter K. Hayman published ‘Research Problems in Function Theory’, a list of 141 problems in seven areas of function theory. In the decades following, this list was extended to include two additional areas of complex analysis, updates on progress in solving existing problems, and over 520 research problems from mathematicians worldwide. It became known as ‘Hayman's List’. This Fiftieth Anniversary Edition contains the complete ‘Hayman's List’ for the first time in book form, along with 31 new problems by leading international mathematicians. This list has directed complex analysis research for the last half-century, and the new edition will help guide future research in the subject. The book contains up-to-date information on each problem, gathered from the international mathematics community, and where possible suggests directions for further investigation. Aimed at both early career and established researchers, this book provides the key problems and results needed to progress in the most important research questions in complex analysis, and documents the developments of the past 50 years.

Book Functions of a Bounded Type in the Half Plane

Download or read book Functions of a Bounded Type in the Half Plane written by A.M. Jerbashian and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-06-18 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is related to the theory of functions of a-bounded type in the ha- plane of the complex plane. I constructed this theory by application of the Li- ville integro-differentiation. To some extent, it is similar to M.M.Djrbashian's factorization theory of the classes Na of functions of a-bounded type in the disc, as much as the well known results on different classes and spaces of regular functions in the half-plane are similar to those in the disc. Besides, the book contains improvements of several results such as the Phragmen-Lindelof Principle and Nevanlinna Factorization in the Half-Plane and offers a new, equivalent definition of the classical Hardy spaces in the half-plane. The last chapter of the book presents author's united work with G.M. Gubreev (Odessa). It gives an application of both a-theories in the disc and in the half-plane in the spectral theory of linear operators. This is a solution of a problem repeatedly stated by M.G.Krein and being of special interest for a long time. The book is proposed for a wide range of readers. Some of its parts are comprehensible for graduate students, while the book in the whole is intended for young researchers and qualified specialists in the field.

The Handbook of Complex Analysis - Geometric Function Theory deals with this field and its many ramifications and relations to other areas of mathematics and physics. The theory of conformal and quasiconformal mappings plays a central role in this Handbook, for example a priori-estimates for these mappings which arise from solving extremal problems, and constructive methods are considered. As a new field the theory of circle packings which goes back to P. Koebe is included. The Handbook should be useful for experts as well as for mathematicians working in other areas, as well as for physicists and engineers. · A collection of independent survey articles in the field of GeometricFunction Theory · Existence theorems and qualitative properties of conformal and quasiconformal mappings · A bibliography, including many hints to applications in electrostatics, heat conduction, potential flows (in the plane)

Book Linear and Complex Analysis Problem Book 3

Download or read book Linear and Complex Analysis Problem Book 3 written by Victor P. Havin and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-12-08 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 2-volume-book is an updated, reorganized and considerably enlarged version of the previous edition of the Research Problem Book in Analysis (LNM 1043), a collection familiar to many analysts, that has sparked off much research. This new edition, created in a joint effort by a large team of analysts, is, like its predecessor, a collection of unsolved problems of modern analysis designed as informally written mini-articles, each containing not only a statement of a problem but also historical and metho- dological comments, motivation, conjectures and discussion of possible connections, of plausible approaches as well as a list of references. There are now 342 of these mini- articles, almost twice as many as in the previous edition, despite the fact that a good deal of them have been solved!

Book New Trends in Approximation Theory

Download or read book New Trends in Approximation Theory written by Javad Mashreghi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-03-28 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The international conference entitled "New Trends in Approximation Theory" was held at the Fields Institute, in Toronto, from July 25 until July 29, 2016. The conference was fondly dedicated to the memory of our unique friend and colleague, André Boivin, who gave tireless service in Canada until his very last moment of his life in October 2014. The impact of his warm personality and his fine work on Complex Approximation Theory was reflected by the mathematical excellence and the wide research range of the 37 participants. In total there were 27 talks, delivered by well-established mathematicians and young researchers. In particular, 19 invited lectures were delivered by leading experts of the field, from 8 different countries. The wide variety of presentations composed a mosaic of aspects of approximation theory, highlighting interesting connections with important contemporary areas of Analysis. Primary topics discussed include application of approximation theory (isoperimetric inequalities, construction of entire order-isomorphisms, dynamical sampling); approximation by harmonic and holomorphic functions (especially uniform and tangential approximation), polynomial and rational approximation; zeros of approximants and zero-free approximation; tools used in approximation theory; approximation on complex manifolds, in product domains, and in function spaces; and boundary behaviour and universality properties of Taylor and Dirichlet series.
