Book Vibration of Strongly Nonlinear Discontinuous Systems

Download or read book Vibration of Strongly Nonlinear Discontinuous Systems written by V.I. Babitsky and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-11-02 with total page 415 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph addresses the systematic representation of the methods of analysis developed by the authors as applied to such systems. Particular features of dynamic processes in such systems are studied. Special attention is given to an analysis of different resonant phenomena taking unusual and diverse forms.

Book Linear vibrations

Download or read book Linear vibrations written by P.C. Müller and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last decade the development in vibration analysis was char acterized by increasing demands on precision and by the growing use of electronic computers. At present, improvements in precision are obtained by a more accurate modelling of technical systems. Thus, for instance, a system with one degree of freedom is often not accepted, as it used to be, as a model for vibration analysis in mechanical engineering. As a rule, vehicles and machines have to be modelled as systems with many degrees of freedom such as multibody systems, finite element systems or con tinua. The mathematical description of multi-degree-of-freedom systems leads to matrix representations of the corresponding equations. These are then conveniently analyzed by means of electronic computers, that is, by the analog computer and especially by the digital machine. Hence there exists a mutually stimulating interaction between the growing require ments and the increasing computational facilities. The present book deals with linear vibration analysis of technical systems with many degrees of freedom in a form allowing the use of computers for finding solutions. Part I begins with the classification of vibrating systems. The main characteristics here are the kind of differential equation, the time depen dence of the coefficients and the attributes of the exciting process. Next it is shown by giving examples involving mechanical vibrating systems how to set up equations of motion and how to transform these into state equations.

Book Computer Assisted Simulation of Dynamic Systems with Block Diagram Languages

Download or read book Computer Assisted Simulation of Dynamic Systems with Block Diagram Languages written by Nicholas M. Karayanakis and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1993-06-24 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computer-Assisted Simulation of Dynamic Systems with Block Diagram Languages explores the diverse applications of these indispensable simulation tools. The first book of its kind, it bridges the gap between block diagram languages and traditional simulation practice by linking the art of analog/hybrid computation with modern pc-based technology. Direct analogies are explored as a means of promoting interdisciplinary problem solving. The reader progresses step-by-step through the creative modeling and simulation of dynamic systems from disciplines as diverse from each other as biology, electronics, physics, and mathematics. The book guides the reader to the dynamic simulation of chaos, conformal mapping, VTOL aircraft, and other highly specialized topics. Alternate methods of simulating a single device to emphasize the dynamic rather than schematic features of a system are provided. Nearly-forgotten computational techniques like that of integrating with respect to a variable other than time are revived and applied to simulation and signal processing. Actual working models are found throughout this eminently readable book, along with a complete international bibliography for individuals researching subjects in dynamic systems. This is an excellent primary text for undergraduate and graduate courses in computer simulation or an adjunct text for a dynamic systems course. It is also recommended as a professional reference book.
