Book Theory of Solid Propellant Nonsteady Combustion

Download or read book Theory of Solid Propellant Nonsteady Combustion written by Vasily B. Novozhilov and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2020-09-02 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite significant developments and widespread theoretical and practical interest in the area of Solid-Propellant Nonsteady Combustion for the last fifty years, a comprehensive and authoritative text on the subject has not been available. Theory of Solid-Propellant Nonsteady Combustion fills this gap by summarizing theoretical approaches to the problem within the framework of the Zeldovich-Novozhilov (ZN-) theory. This book contains equations governing unsteady combustion and applies them systematically to a wide range of problems of practical interest. Theory conclusions are validated, as much as possible, against available experimental data. Theory of Solid-Propellant Nonsteady Combustion provides an accurate up-to-date account and perspectives on the subject and is also accompanied by a website hosting solutions to problems in the book.

Book The Response of a Burning Solid Propellant Surface to Thermal Radiation

Download or read book The Response of a Burning Solid Propellant Surface to Thermal Radiation written by C. Max Mihlfeith and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new technique for the study of processes related to propellant combustion instability has been employed in which burning rate variations produced by a periodic radiant heat flux are measured. The phase angle between the perturbing flux and the burning rate response and the dependence of the magnitude of the response on the driving frequency are obtained. As the frequency of the perturbing flux increases, magnitude of the reaction is observed to first increase and then to pass through a maximum. In general, the experimental results tend to confirm the theoretical models for transient burning rate response, although the observed maximums in the response functions appear to occur at higher frequencies than is predicted by the simpler gas-phase models. Book Flammability limits and the oscillatory burning of solid propellants at low pressure

Download or read book Flammability limits and the oscillatory burning of solid propellants at low pressure written by Bantwal Rabindranath Baliga and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A one-dimensional analysis of the small-amplitude oscillatory burning of a solid propellant has been developed. The analysis is based on a simplified flame model using quasi-steady gas-phase approximation. The difference between this analysis and previous analyses is that radiant heat loss from the burning surface has been included in the present theory. This heat loss produces significant qualitative and quantitative differences in the unsteady behaviour of solid propellants at low pressures. The effect of initial temperature on the stability of the combustion process has also been examined. (Modified author abstract).
