Parmi l'ensemble des signes cliniques affectant le patient, les troubles bucco-dentaires occupent une place importante. La prise en charge thérapeutique de ces patients est complexe et nécessite la plupart du temps des soins multiples sous anesthésie générale. L'objectif de cette thèse était de montrer que malgré les difficultés prévues lors des consultations anesthésiques et l'état de santé général éventuellement altéré du patient, les interventions se déroulaient sans difficultés et qu'aucun accident grave n'avait eu lieu. Afin de répondre à cet objectif nous avons répertorié les patients atteints de grands syndromes, pris en charge sous anesthésie générale au CHU de bordeaux pour des traitements bucco-dentaires, entre 2018 et 2019, décrit les éventuelles difficultés anesthésiques rencontrées, et leurs méthodes de prise en charge. Aucune difficulté ou complication n'a eu lieu chez aucun de ces patients atteints de grands syndromes. L'anesthésie générale semblerait être une alternative aux soins au fauteuil pour les patients à besoins spécifiques. Il pourrait être intéressant de développer cette pratique pour répondre à la demande en soins de ces patients.

Il apparaît important de décrire la formation initiale nécessaire, d'aborder les différents modes d'exercice, de spécifier le matériel nécessaire, de citer les normes et certifications à respecter et de souligner l'aspect légal et juridique impliqués pour pouvoir exercer cette spécialisation.
