The key to this book is to let out a big yaaaawn every time you read "s-l-e-e-p-y m-o-n-k-e-y" spelled out like this. You will soon find that after the third or fourth time, if your child was restless, he or she will settle down nicely and be well on his or her way to sleep. I hope your children enjoy this story as much as mine have over the years.

Book excerpt: Little Mrs. Ladybug was a worker. Nobody could deny that. To be sure, she had to stop now and then to talk to her neighbors, because Mrs. Ladybug dearly loved a bit of gossip. At the same time there wasn't anyone in Pleasant Valley that helped Farmer Green more than she did. She tried her hardest to keep the trees in the orchard free from insects. Some of her less worthy neighbors were known sometimes to say with a sniff, "If Mrs. Ladybug didn't enjoy her work she wouldn't care about helping Farmer Green. If she hadn't such a big appetite she'd stop to chat even more than she does now."

Book The Sleepy Monkey

Book excerpt: I am the father of two bright and curious boys. When my oldest was little, he always had trouble winding down from the day and never wanted to go to bed. So like most parents, I started to sing to him each night. I made up a fun little story of a restless monkey, and before long, bedtime was much less of a challenge. My boys are a few years older, but I still sing to them sometimes. It was on one of these occasions that I had the idea that this story may help other parents. The Sleepy Monkey was born. I hope you enjoy it and that your little ones are already fast asleep! 1
