Book The Kid Looks Back Short Stories Tall Tales

Download or read book The Kid Looks Back Short Stories Tall Tales written by Ritchie R. Moorhead and published by Author House. This book was released on 2011-07-12 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Kid Looks Back is a collection of sixty-eight stories that cover a wide range of topics. I hope that his book will be a gentle hiding place where you can go to get away from something, return to something or go where you have never been. Some of these stories are true. Others are factually true, although bit embellished. Others are outright fabrications. Most look back to a kinder, mellower time. Digging for worms, swimming in a pond, using an outhouse or wading in a river may bring gross evaluations from our urbanized cousins. I hope that this book introduces them to life with a smile. Most of the stories have a message. Many are simply humorous. Entertainment is the motive. Carefree is the mood. Try to find yourself within these pages. May the beak of reality crack your comfort shell. Start anywhere. Finish anytime. Enjoy!

Book The Twelve Years of Christmas

Download or read book The Twelve Years of Christmas written by Rochelle Doan Craig and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-10 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Twelve Years of Christmas is not just a Christmas story. It's a journal of the first twelve years of one family's past events, happily recounted to all in those dreaded, ghastly annual Christmas form letters. Newlyweds Rochelle and Tom Craig moved to a farm in a friendly rural community to raise a crop of children. The family traveled and camped as often as Tom could be dragged away for it. After seventeen years of child-rearing, Rochelle returned to part-time elementary school teaching. She soon switched to full-time teaching with numerous grades and totally new subjects. Shortly thereafter, she began the dreaded Christmas card form letters, a practice that she mocks in The Twelve Years of Christmas. The letters cover the years between 1984 and 1995, explaining the changes in the lives of the Craig family and their pets. Rochelle also discusses the family's love of travel and the ever present threat of marital collapse, mostly due to the annual family practice of putting up the winter window-insulating film, the Christmas tree, and the snow fence together. This version of rural family life describes the fortunes (few), misfortunes (many), ups, downs, and in-betweens of each year all tied up with lots of love and good humor.

Book Mastering The Business of Medicine The Doctor Patient Relationship

Download or read book Mastering The Business of Medicine The Doctor Patient Relationship written by Robert A. Kayal MD FAAOS FAAHKS and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2024-05-22 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have wanted to write a book about the “business of medicine” for a long time now. “Why?”, you ask. The reason is because I have seen so many doctors give up, switch careers, or sell out to large conglomerates of health care employers because the physicians were not able to succeed on their own. This has been so hard for me to watch. Unfortunately, the business of medicine is not taught in, or part of, medical school curriculums. As such, these poor health care providers just went into the profession blind. They had no idea what to expect. There was no guidance or direction provided during their training. There was just ignorance and naiveté when they came out into the world. They were left to figure it out for themselves and just told to flap their wings and fly. Well, I want to change that. I think it should be. In fact, I think it must be, and I’m on a mission to make it happen. In medical school, there are no business courses about etiquette, people skills, public speaking, finance, accounting, billing, collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking, wealth management, money management, budgeting, investments, economics, business management, human resources, etc. All these courses should be required. My goal is to make this book mandatory reading material on every health care provider’s educational curriculum. It will not only teach you how to succeed in the business of medicine, but in the specialty of medicine, as well.

Book The Little Green Book of Tennis

Download or read book The Little Green Book of Tennis written by Tom Parham and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-04-17 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Golf is a disease, not a game. Especially when you take the game up in your fifties, as I did. After a series of injuries stopped my recreational tennis play, and my retirement from a lifetime of coaching and teaching tennis, I tried golf. It didn't take long to realize it was not an easy endeavor. Someone said, "You can't learn anything from a golf book, but you have to read a lot of golf books to find that out!" I found the gurus of golf instruction: Ledbetter, Pelz, and Hogan, who was said to have written the book with the secret! I did find one that really attracted me but in a somewhat different way.
