Book Simple Solutions for the Economic Recovery

Download or read book Simple Solutions for the Economic Recovery written by Matt O’Malley and published by BookCountry. This book was released on 2013-12-19 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If government officials and the ruling elite will not support an economic revival, then we the people must solve the problem—and it starts now. This means putting every working age American back to work and taking steps to help middle class Americans thrive again. While economists throughout the world continue to focus on the causes of our financial shortcomings, author Matt O’Malley has been hard at work coming up with solutions. He proposes that we • pay off our overwhelming debt; • make sure that no child goes hungry; • bring back the Constitution; and • stop spying on and bullying citizens. He also proposes controversial ideas, such as legalizing the status of undocumented immigrants so we can collect more tax revenue and making some hard decisions as individuals to hold our leaders accountable. It’s time to educate yourself and realize just how bad things could get if the ruling elite continue to go unchecked. It all starts with finding Simple Solutions for the Economic Recovery.

Book Financial Recovery

Download or read book Financial Recovery written by Karen McCall and published by New World Library. This book was released on 2011-03-21 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After healing her own unhealthy relationship with money, and transforming her financial disaster into prosperity and security, Karen McCall created a recovery program she has now used for more than twenty years to help individuals, couples, and businesses large and small. In the midst of her money troubles, she saw a need for something other than financial planners, accountants, and credit counselors. These experts could tell her what she should be doing differently, but she needed someone to help her understand the underlying causes of chronic, self-defeating overspending and credit card debt, underearning, and low or no savings. To save herself, she created practical, holistic tools that address these sources of pain and shame. McCall’s program supports people as they uncover their deep-seated attitudes about money; provides simple, step-by-step tools for healing areas of physical, emotional, and spiritual deprivation; and teaches skills and strategies for experiencing lasting personal and financial fulfillment even in the midst of economic challenges and reversals.

Book Economic Policy and the Financial Crisis

Download or read book Economic Policy and the Financial Crisis written by Łukasz Mamica and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-03-26 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The consequences of the global economic crisis which started in the United States in 2007-08 are still being felt in most of the advanced economies, and the mainstream tools of recovery are not having the required results. It seems that many of the after-effects of the crisis, including the instability of the financial markets, increasing public debts and limited economic growth, require new solutions from both economic policy and theory. Lower aggregate demand during the crisis increased the pressure on firms to be more competitive and at the same time, the crisis in the banking system has had a negative impact on the willingness of financial institutions to give credit to companies for investment. Therefore, the key issue for current economic policy is to find a balance between the stabilisation of public finance and maintaining the momentum of long-term growth. This book offers an evolutionary-developmental analysis, combining elements of neo-Schumpeterian economics, institutional economics and post-Keynesian economics, to show that selection processes within an economy, and the institutional rules shaping those processes, are substantially more important than usually recognised by evolutionary economic theory. Two major challenges for economic theory and policy, in particular, have emerged during the crisis. The first is the rise of unemployment coupled with growing public deficits. The second is the financial instability which threatens the permanence of economic development. This book examines the performance of the advanced economies since the crisis and explores why some of them have been more successful in tackling these challenges than others. It is argued that the reasons for the varied performances of these economies lie in the economic policies which were introduced before and in the aftermath of the crisis and the differences in the regulation of their labour markets. This volume will be of interest to students and academics in the areas of macroeconomics, public economics and public management.
