Book excerpt: "The Silent Path" is an invitation to dive into the deep mysteries of life. It is an invitation to take an adventurous journey into the depths of your inner being. Every insight and understanding in this writing comes from the innermost recesses of a human heart that went in search of the ultimate Truth. This book is a reflection of an Awakened mind; a mind that transcended the confines of all known boundaries of human conception. Some of the questions this book attempts to answer: What is the true nature of my mind, body, and Self? What is meditation and how do I practice it? How can I attain to my inner peace, certainty, and happiness? What is life and how do I understand it fully? How can I go beyond my daily strife and struggle? What is spirituality and how do I pursue it? What exactly is Enlightenment and how do I attain it? This book is transcribed from talks delivered by Avi, answering personal questions of spiritual seekers. Your journey through these pages will be like taking a bite from a rare, succulent fruit of some far-off land, where it has been growing and waiting for years, just for you. May the freshness of this new taste linger in your soul forever.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from the book: "As much as we are suffering our ignorance, we are also suffering our modern comforts, intelligence, and sophistication. We are suffering more now than ever before. Our modern accomplishments are arrogantly screaming and supporting our ignorance. No other generation has been as frustrated, spiritually barren, utterly disoriented, and lost as we are. We are the forgotten children of existence. We are walking alone in the dark wilderness of life, carrying our little gadgets and gizmos into an unknown future, searching for meaning, purpose, and connection. The individual is lost amidst the collective ideas and concepts of humanity. We have buried the individual under a mountain of social, political, philosophical, religious, and economic rubble. An individual has to fight his way through this enormous systemic burden before discovering himself. The question, "What exactly does it mean to be an individual?" is more important now than ever before. We have to explore this question carefully. The answer to this question holds the future hope of humanity......"

Book Theoretical and Computational Methods in Genome Research

Download or read book Theoretical and Computational Methods in Genome Research written by Sándor Suhai and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The application ofcomputational methods to solve scientific and practical problems in genome research created a new interdisciplinary area that transcends boundaries tradi tionally separating genetics, biology, mathematics, physics, and computer science. Com puters have, of course, been intensively used in the field of life sciences for many years, even before genome research started, to store and analyze DNA or protein sequences; to explore and model the three-dimensional structure, the dynamics, and the function of biopolymers; to compute genetic linkage or evolutionary processes; and more. The rapid development of new molecular and genetic technologies, combined with ambitious goals to explore the structure and function ofgenomes ofhigher organisms, has generated, how ever, not only a huge and exponentially increasing body of data but also a new class of scientific questions. The nature and complexity of these questions will also require, be yond establishing a new kind ofalliance between experimental and theoretical disciplines, the development of new generations both in computer software and hardware technolo gies. New theoretical procedures, combined with powerful computational facilities, will substantially extend the horizon of problems that genome research can attack with suc cess. Many of us still feel that computational models rationalizing experimental findings in genome research fulfill their promises more slowly than desired. There is also an uncer tainty concerning the real position of a "theoretical genome research" in the network of established disciplines integrating their efforts in this field.

Book Variation in Datives

Download or read book Variation in Datives written by Beatriz Fernandez and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2013 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Variation in Datives collects new research on the nature of syntactic micro-variation in datives. The papers in this volume examine different aspects of internal variation in dative marking, such as agreement and case alternations, distribution of adpositional structures and dative case-marking, the different structural positions of dative arguments and their semantic contribution, and patterns of syncretism in the clitic and/or agreement system. Interest in these topics has grown significantly in the past 20 years. Variation in Datives makes a significant contribution to our understanding of language variation, as it adds the micro-comparative perspective to the general discussion and includes 10 new articles on a wide range of European languages, including Greek, Basque, Icelandic, and Serbo-Croatian. Variation in Datives will appeal to scholars and advanced students of syntax, linguistic variation, and especially syntactic micro-variation.

Book Mapping Spatial PPs

Download or read book Mapping Spatial PPs written by Guglielmo Cinque and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2010-08-13 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mapping Spatial PPs focuses on a particular aspect of the internal syntax of prepositional phrases that has been relatively neglected in previous studies: the fine-grained articulation of their structure. With contributions from top scholars in the field, this volume investigates such components as direction, location, axial part, deictic center, absolute (ambiental) and relative view point, using evidence from Romance, Germanic, and African languages, with references to other language families. Mapping Spatial PPs demonstrates that the internal structure of prepositional phrases is richer than previously recognized.

Book Bioinformatics second edition

Download or read book Bioinformatics second edition written by Pierre Baldi and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2001-07-20 with total page 492 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A guide to machine learning approaches and their application to the analysis of biological data. An unprecedented wealth of data is being generated by genome sequencing projects and other experimental efforts to determine the structure and function of biological molecules. The demands and opportunities for interpreting these data are expanding rapidly. Bioinformatics is the development and application of computer methods for management, analysis, interpretation, and prediction, as well as for the design of experiments. Machine learning approaches (e.g., neural networks, hidden Markov models, and belief networks) are ideally suited for areas where there is a lot of data but little theory, which is the situation in molecular biology. The goal in machine learning is to extract useful information from a body of data by building good probabilistic models—and to automate the process as much as possible. In this book Pierre Baldi and Søren Brunak present the key machine learning approaches and apply them to the computational problems encountered in the analysis of biological data. The book is aimed both at biologists and biochemists who need to understand new data-driven algorithms and at those with a primary background in physics, mathematics, statistics, or computer science who need to know more about applications in molecular biology. This new second edition contains expanded coverage of probabilistic graphical models and of the applications of neural networks, as well as a new chapter on microarrays and gene expression. The entire text has been extensively revised.

Book Foundations of Software Science and Computation Structures

Download or read book Foundations of Software Science and Computation Structures written by Igor Walukiewicz and published by Springer. This book was released on 2004-03-04 with total page 543 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ETAPS 2004 was the seventh instance of the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software. ETAPS is an annual federated conference that was established in 1998 by combining a number of existing and new conferences. This year it comprised ?ve conferences (FOSSACS, FASE, ESOP, CC, TACAS), 23 satellite workshops, 1 tutorial, and 7 invited lectures (not including those that are speci?c to the satellite events). The events that comprise ETAPS address various aspects of the system - velopment process, including speci?cation, design, implementation, analysis and improvement. The languages, methodologies and tools that support these - tivities are all well within its scope. Di?erent blends of theory and practice are represented, with an inclination towards theory with a practical motivation on the one hand and soundly based practice on the other. Many of the issues inv- ved in software design apply to systems in general, including hardware systems, and the emphasis on software is not intended to be exclusive.
