Download or read book Now is the Dawning of the Time of the End written by Simon Richard Lee and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-02-06 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book starts off in an astonishing way - by developing a completely new scientific View of Faith which almost immediately actually yields in full the BASIS OF THE SECRET OF LIFE! The rest of this science is radically different to anything known to date - for it attempts to always be THE TRUTH AND NOTHING ELSE. Parts Two and Three of the book apply the above Science of Faith to a very complete largely radically new interpretation of the only two truly prophetic books i the Christian bible - Revelation and Daniel.

Book The Story of Silbury Hill

Download or read book The Story of Silbury Hill written by Jim Leary and published by Historic England. This book was released on 2010 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Written by two experts with unrivalled information and knowledge of Silbury Hill, and combining scholarly research and readable narrative, this book sets out the archaeological story of Silbury: from an early recognition of its importance to antiquarian and archaeological investigations of the hill. The book describes each event, setting it within its own historical and political context; the story of the monument is juxtaposed with the enigmatic and eccentric characters of the time. The collapse on the summit in 2000, leading to the opening of the hill's famous tunnel in 2007 to much media fanfare, is covered. For the first time the results of the recent work are set out in detail, describing early activity on the site, the origins of the monument and the construction techniques used. Numerous new and vivid reconstruction drawings present a unique interpretation of this iconic prehistoric monument. The book also describes how the monument was seen and used by later communities, from the Roman small town that grew up around the hill - the inhabitants quite literally living in its shadow - to medieval buildings on the summit. The final chapter discusses what Silbury means to people today: its power and spirituality for locals, visitors, New Agers and Druids alike.

Download or read book Written on Stone written by Joanne Parker and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2009-10-02 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of essays is not interested in the unresolved questions about the origin, original use, and authentic meaning of the prehistoric monuments of the British Isles. It is not concerned with their prehistory. Rather it deals with the history of barrows, standing stones, and stone circles: with the ways in which they have been viewed, the meanings that have been attributed to them, and the significant impact that they have had over the centuries on British life and culture – from motivating artists, authors, musicians and film-makers to inspiring ‘New Age’ religions. It is thus as interested in stones commonly believed to be megaliths – like the foundation stones of the chapel in the Dartmoor village of South Zeal – as in ‘real’ remains. In her recent study of Stonehenge, the historian Rosemary Hill asserted: ‘Stonehenge does not belong to archaeology, or not to archaeology alone’. Likewise, this book is not written primarily for archaeologists – or not for the interest of archaeologists alone. It will also be of interest to social and cultural historians, to those interested in fine art, literature or film, and to anyone fascinated by the construction of national, local, or counter-cultural identities. It should also intrigue anybody who lives near one of the thousands of prehistoric remains that add beauty and mystery to Britain’s countryside. The book surveys over eight hundred years of rediscovery, study, superstition, inspiration, fear, restoration, and destruction, investigating how different generations saw their own anxieties, beliefs and concerns reflected in the mysterious lives of the prehistoric builders. By discussing the many different ways in which prehistoric remains have been treated in different periods, the book interrogates any notion of objective approaches to archaeology. Instead, it asserts that what we think of as ‘the past’ is in fact multiple and man-made. Thus, if we are to effectively interpret and fully understand the prehistoric remains of the past, a variety of disciplines and a range of approaches – both traditional and unconventional – will need to work together. For this reason, this book has been produced as a jointly-authored text – a collaboration between archaeologists, folklorists, historians, journalists, and literary critics.

Book The Tender Years

Download or read book The Tender Years written by Queenie Tarquin Saunders aka Simon Richard Lee and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-05-08 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ?The Tender Years? is my autobiography, a true and honest account of my life from birth to the present day. It takes in what for many, are taboo subjects: - childhood sexual abuse, self-harm in various measures, and psychiatric care today ? as we leave the 20th Century. My own psychiatric care takes in the hub of ?the System?, the receiving end of in-patient and out-patient or ?client? services ? which is still much in need of improvement. I try to describe the many mistakes that may be made in this ?hit and miss? side of medicine. The book embraces a host of emotional feelings, captured in a format that adults should find inspirational to read. One of the key reasons for writing the book is that it hints of the physical as well as the emotional scars. Hopefully my later years will successively become less ?tender? from these. In offering a light at the end of the tunnel, if QT Saunders got through a tough life and is still standing ? anyone can ? and against all the odds.
