Book excerpt: This book is all-encompassing and comprehensive in its descriptions of the portents of the Last Hour. Allaah sent Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) with the truth to give glad tidings to mankind and to warn them before the strike of the Hour such that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) neither left any good except that he showed mankind and exhorted them to practise it, nor did he leave any evil except that he warned them about it and forbade them from indulging in it. It was expedient for the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) to inform his followers about the coming of the Hour and the portents heralding it as well as other matters of the unseen as he (صلى الله عليه وسلم) was the last Prophet and Messenger sent to mankind, while his followers are the last community or generation (Ummah).Although Allaah has concealed the knowledge of the exact time of the Hour and the Day of Resurrection from the whole of mankind, Allaah has, however, revealed to His chosen Prophet the signs of the Hour and has acquainted him with the events that would take place on earth before its coming. And all that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) has said on this matter were not out of his own desire; rather, they are revelation from Allaah, the Exalted and Most High. The preceding events before the Last Hour are generally grouped into two:I. Minor Signs or Lesser Signs or Distant SignsII. Major Signs or Greater Signs or Near SignsThe minor or lesser signs are referred to as such not because they are less significant than the major signs but rather due to their repeated occurrence, their occurring without any specific sequence and their placement when compared to the major signs with respect to the blast of the Hour and Day of Resurrection; most of the minor signs occur from time to time and from places to places. The major signs, however, follow one another in a sequence; they are much closer to the Hour and actually herald it. These major signs are the closest signs to the last Day or Day of Resurrection.Today, some of the minor signs prophesied by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) are at their peak and some are still at the beginning of their development. All will eventually culminate into the major signs. These major signs will occur one after the other and they are referred to as "Near Signs" because they will be the signs closest to the establishment of the Last Hour when the trumpet will be blown. When a sign of the Hour mentioned by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) comes to pass and the people witness it, they begin to realize that the coming of the Hour is an inevitable event of which there is no doubt. They will hold the Hour with fear and esteem and make preparations for it by performing good deeds and eschewing evil deeds. This is Allaah''s justice to mankind before the torment of the Day of Recompense, "Lest a person should say: ''Ah! Woe upon me that I neglected my duty towards Allaah and I was indeed among those who mocked [at the truth],'' or lest he should say: ''If only Allaah had guided me, I should indeed have been among the righteous,'' or lest he should say when he sees the torment: ''If only I had another chance [to return to the world], then I should indeed be among those who do good.''" (ref. Soorah az-Zumar [39]:56-58)Attempts have been made in the book utilizing the most authentic and reliable sources to enumerate the signs of the Last Hour prophesied by Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم).Likewise, effort has been made in the book to expel the distortions, prophecies and fantasies of the futurists, the seers and the prognosticators, who, at difference times, make predictions of the end and destruction of the universe, creating panic and commotion, and at the same time gaining recognition. It is a well-researched book and it is thoroughly referenced for seekers of knowledge and seekers of truth.

Book The Reign of Quantity the Signs of the Times

Download or read book The Reign of Quantity the Signs of the Times written by René Guénon and published by Sophia Perennis. This book was released on 2001 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ""The reign of quantity" gives a concise but comprehensive view of the present state of affairs in the world, as it appears from the point of view of the 'ancient wisdom', formerly common both to the East and to the West, but now almost entirely lost sight of. The author indicates with his fabled clarity and directness the precise nature of the modern deviation, and devotes special attention to the development of modern philosophy and science, and to the part played by them, with their accompanying notions of progress and evolution, in the formation of the industrial and democratic society which we now regard as 'normal'. Guénon sees history as a descent from Form (or Quality) toward Matter (or Quantity); but after the Reign of Quantity-modern materialism and the 'rise of the masses'-Guénon predicts a reign of 'inverted quality' just before the end of the age: the triumph of the 'counter-initiation', the kingdom of Antichrist. This text is considered the magnum opus among Guénon's texts of civilizational criticism, as is Symbols of Sacred Science among his studies on symbols and cosmology, and Man and His Becoming according to the Vedanta among his more purely metaphysical works." --Descripción del editor.

Book Awakening the Planetary Mind

Download or read book Awakening the Planetary Mind written by Barbara Hand Clow and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2011-09-21 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Completing our conscious evolution by releasing our collective fear of catastrophes • Explains how we are on the cusp of an era of incredible creative growth • Shows how we are about to overcome the collective fear caused by ancient catastrophes as we awaken to the memories of our lost prehistory • Examines legendary cataclysms and scientific evidence of a highly advanced global culture that disappeared 11,500 years ago In this completely revised and expanded edition of Catastrophobia, bestselling author Barbara Hand Clow explains how we are on the cusp of an age of incredible creative growth made possible by restoring our lost prehistory. Examining legendary cataclysms--such as the fall of Atlantis and the biblical Flood--and the mounting geological and archaeological evidence that many of these mythic catastrophes were actual events, she reveals the existence of a highly advanced global maritime culture that disappeared amid great earth changes and rising seas 14,000 to 11,500 years ago, nearly causing our species’ extinction and leaving humanity’s collective psyche deeply scarred. Tracing humanity’s reemergence after these prehistoric catastrophes, Clow explains how these events in the deep past influence our consciousness today. Guided by Carl Johan Calleman’s analysis of the Mayan Calendar, she reveals that as the Earth’s 26,000-year precessional cycle shifts, our evolution is accelerating to prepare us for a new age of harmony and peace. She explains how we are beginning a collective healing as ancient memories of prehistory awaken in our minds and release our unprocessed fear. Passed from generation to generation, this fear has been responsible for our constant expectations of apocalypse. She shows that by remembering and moving beyond the trauma of our long lost past, we bring the era of cataclysms to an end and cross the threshold into a time of extraordinary creative activity.

Download or read book Armageddon Again written by John Bliss and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2011-05 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Join author John Bliss in his theological study, Armageddon Again: Where Have We Been and Where Are We Headed, and discover the hidden truth about the many wonders of the world. Learn the basics for pursuing our destiny through revealing our past and the three worldwide cataclysmic periods: fire, ice and water. Whether you are a novice to theology or a scholar, this book will unlock your inner curiosity about religion and our future. Armageddon Again suggests that we are on the cusp of one final period of fire, as stated not only in Scripture but countless other ancient reports. Ancient records detail that Satan misguided man through cataclysmic events to incorporate an advanced and technological way of life that led them away from God. Proof is scattered across our planet that ancient civilizations were more technologically advanced than we are today and built what Bliss calls Wonderworks: magnificent stone structures and drawings etched into the earth's landscape. Armageddon Again is the key that opens the door to our hidden past and certain future that is critical for all of mankind to know. Everybody on the face of the planet, regardless of their religion, must realize that we are all bonded by the same history that draws us to the Divine. This history has been hidden from us by Satan in order to keep us from being in union with our heavenly Father. This union is the catalyst to not only usher in Jesus as King on Earth, but to also save those from the final cataclysm of fire that Scripture and other cultural texts warn us about. Once these revelations are brought to light, we will have no choice but to change how we live both physically and spiritually. John Bliss resides in Center Line, Michigan, with his wife, Mary. They have four children and are blessed with three grandchildren who live in Vancouver, Washington.

Book A Documented Biography of Jesus Before Christianity

Download or read book A Documented Biography of Jesus Before Christianity written by Abram Epstein and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2015-10-26 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the author of the acclaimed historical novel, The Matthias Scroll, comes this nonfiction advance in Gospel interpretation. As fresh translations and undeniable inference open the Christianizing shells of lore and legend, a complete biography of Jesus emerges. For the first time, this penetrating study brings us together with the one so many have been seeking to know and appreciate as a human being. Never considered possible, Epsteins critical analysis crosses seemingly insurmountable linguistic hurdles, solving millenia-old riddles about the historical Jesus. With his arrest foreshadowed by formerly unknown circumstance, Epstein suggests, most serious New Testament scholars are likely to be amazed by the facts surrounding his capture, crucifixion, and interment. Praise from eminent scholar and author Shaul Magid: Delightful and provocative! Epstein has constructed a novel portrait of Jesus life based on New Testament passages juxtaposed to the Judaism of his time. Applying his own method of interpretation, the author challenges the Gospel account, recovering biographical dimensions of a pre-Christian, humanized Jesus. Joining the tradition of the search for the historical Jesus, what results is a readable, provocative thesis. Book excerpt: Follow this multi-disciplinary, scientific study as it examines the evidence of a great global catastrophe that occurred only 11,500 years ago. Crustal shifting, the tilting of Earth's axis, mass extinctions, upthrusted mountain ranges, rising and shrinking land masses, and gigantic volcanic eruptions and earthquakes--all indicate that a fateful confrontation with a destructive cosmic visitor must have occurred. The abundant geological, biological, and climatological evidence from this dire event calls into question many geological theories and will awaken our memories to our true--and not-so-distant--past.

Book The Lectionary Commentary Theological Exegesis for Sunday s Texts The Third Readings

Download or read book The Lectionary Commentary Theological Exegesis for Sunday s Texts The Third Readings written by Roger E. Van Harn and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2005-09-09 with total page 662 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Preaching pastors, ministers, and priests know how quickly Sundays come and go. The Lectionary Commentary will not slow the pace of the weekly calendar, but it will help assure that sermon preparation begins with a solid engagement with Scripture. Designed to "jump start" the difficult task of sermon preparation, this indispensable three-volume work gathers exegetical essays on biblical texts from the Revised Common Lectionary. Covering every Sunday of the three-year liturgical cycle, as well as Christmas Day, Epiphany, and Ascension Day, the readings are arranged in canonical order so as to be of use to all preachers. Seventy-eight pastors, priests, and teachers from a variety of Christian traditions have contributed their insights to The Lectionary Commentary. Designed to answer the question What does the preacher need to know about this text in order to preach a faithful sermon from it?, each of their essays closely considers its specific biblical text, all the while remaining alert to the contemporary context in which the sermon will be spoken and heard. The result is an invaluable resource that will aid in the difficult task of facilitating a meaningful encounter between Holy Scripture and our modern world. This volume, The Third Readings: The Gospels, provides exegetical commentary on the lectionary readings for the witnesses to Jesus Christ written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Also unique to this volume is an excellent essay by C. Clifton Black on Augustinian preaching and the nurture of Christians. Consulting Editors: Richard A. Burridge Thomas W. Gillespie Colin E. Gunton Robert W. Jenson James F. Kay Hughes Oliphant Old Fleming Rutledge Marguerite Shuster

Download or read book Catastrophobia written by Barbara Hand Clow and published by Inner Traditions / Bear & Co. This book was released on 2001-05-01 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: • Bestselling author Barbara Hand Clow examines legendary cataclysms and shows how we are about to overcome the collective fear they have instilled in us. • The long-awaited follow-up that continues the revelations begun in The Pleiadian Agenda, which has sold more than 60,000 copies. • Explains why, contrary to many prophets of doom, we are actually on the cusp of an era of incredible creative growth. The recent discovery of the remains of ancient villages buried beneath the Black Sea is the latest instance of mounting evidence that many of the "mythic" catastrophes of history--the fall of Atlantis, the Biblical Flood--were actual events. In Catastrophobia Barbara Hand Clow shows that a series of cataclysmic disasters, caused by a massive disturbance in the Earth's crust 11,500 years ago, rocked the world and left humanity's collective psyche permanently scarred. We are a wounded species, and this unprocessed fear, passed from generation to generation, is responsible for our constant expectations of apocalypse, from Y2K to the famed end of the Mayan calendar in 2012. Catastrophobia reveals the insidious global forces that have used these collective fears to control humanity for thousands of years. But we are in the midst of a tremendous shift in the Earth's 26,000-year precessional cycle, and there is every indication that the changes in consciousness over the last 30 years are the beginnings of a collective healing from these deep fears, heralding a new age where we will see that the era of cataclysms is ending and a time of extraordinary creative activity is at hand.
