Book Massage for Dogs a Personal Journey

Download or read book Massage for Dogs a Personal Journey written by Typhaine Pautrel and published by . This book was released on 2017-05-28 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Having been a musician for many years, there came a time when I finally felt like changing my job and so, I turned towards Shiatsu that I had discovered in Japan and which was given by blind people who had an extreme sensitivity regarding the sense of touch. The act of 'touching' fascinates me. In music, everything is a matter of cognition through this sense, it is universal.I studied Shiatsu for three years at the school of Andr Nahum in Paris and then set up my own company of Shiatsu for human beings after having graduated from the school with full certification. I one day decided that I would like to try massaging my dog: Cookie, a 3-year-old Golden RetrieverSo, to learn more about this new approach, I entered a specific dog massage school in Paris, 'Chien-Zen' managed by Pauline Arnt. This brought me some unexpected benefitsFor this new adventure, I chose to massage 3 dogs from a boarding kennel, which was located alongside a forest near Paris.Seeing the reaction of dogs to a massage without knowing the therapist was quite challenging. For these sessions, I just gave massages without any Shiatsu. I realized that, with proper manipulations and the intention of doing good to your beloved dog, you can improve his mood as well as his well-being. These moments are something rare in your relationship with him. After hesitating over the way of presenting this material, I finally decided to start by giving you some of my own definitions of the words I use. Some explicit pictures of the manipulations on different dogs will help to illustrate my 'strange' words. Then, I describe the massage entirely with my own impressions followed by all the photos of the session. Some pictures about specific moments with my comments follow immediately afterwards. I chose to show you my work on 3 specific types of dogs: the first one is Sangha, medium size with long fur, the second is Nanouche, a small dog (Yorkshire), and the third one is Elvis, a big dog with short hair. After all Sangha's sessions, I do the same work for Nanouche and Elvis. You can see the evolution of their acceptance from the very first massage to the last one. Finally, I will give you my version of an 'ideal dog massage', which is completely personal. I sincerely hope you will enjoy reading this book. I'd like to know the music to which my dog's tail beats the time Yvan Audouard

Book The Complete Dog Massage Manual

Download or read book The Complete Dog Massage Manual written by Julia Robertson and published by Hubble & Hattie. This book was released on 2020-03-31 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Massage has a fascinating history dating back 4,000 years, and evidence of the beneficial effects of massage on animals is not difficult to find. We need only look at animals to understand the importance they place on the use of massage through mutual (allogrooming), or self-grooming. Among dogs, an individual suffering from a sore, or some other form of injury, will often have the affected area roughly licked by another pack member. This action, which resembles rubbing, is, in effect, a form of muscle massage. The techniques explained and demonstrated in The Complete Dog Manual – which incorporate a "trouble shooting" guide for problems when working on your dog – should assist you in improving your dog's health, and help you gain a greater awareness of his or her overall condition. Other techniques are also used by fully trained and qualified canine myotherapists or massage therapist practitioners, but the techniques included here are safe to use without such specialist knowledge. Download or read book Beyond Dog Massage written by Jim Masterson and published by Trafalgar Square Books. This book was released on 2023-11-30 with total page 569 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Improve your dog's movement, comfort, and longevity while opening exciting new doors to better communication and a more meaningful relationship. We all want our dogs to live pain-free, and we all want ways to connect with them. The Masterson Method® is an interactive approach to animal bodywork that follows and uses responses of the animal to your touch to find and release tension in areas of his body that affect: His ability to get around. His physical and mental well-being. The quality of and length of his life. His connection with you and other humans and animals. A lifelong horse person, Jim Masterson developed his method for the purpose of releasing tension and improving movement in the performance horse. An interesting benefit was that it led to improved communication and trust, and a better overall relationship with the horse. Since dogs go with horses “like peanut butter and jelly,” Jim says, it was only natural that he began to use his bodywork on canines, too. The techniques used in the Masterson Method rely on reading and following the subtle changes in the dog's body language as you work with him. Once you learn to read his body language, you will be “on the same page” and communication is established. Your dog recognizes that you understand what his body language is saying, that there is no threat to his well-being, and that he feels better when you work with him. In these pages you will learn the steps to incorporating the Masterson Method in your dog's life, bringing happiness to both of you. By using these techniques, and knowing the responses to look for, you will be able to: Achieve a release of accumulated stress in deep-seated key junctions of the dog's body that affects mobility, comfort, attitude, training, and performance. Restore muscular and structural balance, and natural alignment. Discover new levels of communication and trust with your dog that spill over into other areas of interaction. This book includes: Step-by-step instructions, color photographs, and detailed illustrations. Tips and techniques, understandable anatomical explanations, and examples from Jim's personal experiences with hundreds of dogs. A “quick-reference” section that points you toward exercises specifically suited to your dog's breed or activity. 20 bonus QR codes, supplying 38 minutes of instructional video. The Masterson Method is practical, easy to use, and results oriented. You see the results in the dog's responses during the bodywork, and in his behavior, comfort, and movement afterward. Beyond Dog Massage is the ideal instructional guide for all those seeking a better quality of life for and deeper connection with their dogs.
