This book was released on 2022-04-07 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sherlock Holmes is at it again… In “The Adventure of the Jeweled Falcon”, Holmes tracks down an ancient priceless statue, but others are looking for it, too. In, “The case of the Violin Savant”, using clues found in the sophisticated musical compositions of a celebrated but mute nine year-old violin savant, Holmes and Watson attempt to discover where and why the boy and his parents vanished. In, “The Bizarre Challenge of Strange Mr. K”, a mysterious man visits 221B Baker Street late one night, confesses to committing a crime then challenges Holmes to solve the case so that he can turn himself in to Scotland Yard, but all Holmes has to go on is the strange man himself and a little luck. In, “The Adventure of a Thousand Stings”, the horribly violent death of an eccentric apiarist pits Sherlock Holmes’ extraordinary deduction skills against an insect that has practiced and refined its deadly, swarming version of warfare over millions of years. In, “The Adventure of the American Sleuth”, a young New York City detective, a talented student of Sherlock Holmes’ detecting methods, follows a killer to London and enlists his legendary mentor’s aid in trying to capture the elusive criminal. In, “The Adventure of Stonehenge in London”, Holmes and Watson stumble upon a strange structure on the roof of a mansion in London, and somehow it relates to the missing 8th Earl of Rendlesham. In, “The Criminal Face of Sherlock Holmes”, a criminal that resembles Sherlock Holmes commits crimes all over London. Can the real Holmes solve the riddle as to why and how and restore law and order to the great city? In, “The Adventure of the Last Case”, over twenty years on the job, the great Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson finally call it quits but have to solve one more case before riding off into the sunset. In, “The Adventure of the Portable Exo-Lung”, a wave of kidnappings, burglaries, blackmail and arson strains the resources of Scotland Yard. As the great Sherlock Holmes follows the clues left behind, he discovers these crimes are part of a deeper, more devious plan to trap and eliminate him - permanently. In, “Mystery of the Last Martian”, in a tribute to HG Wells, as the Martian invasion of England collapses, Holmes and Watson are forced into one final battle, a battle of pure intellect, against the superior intelligence of a solitary Martian who has trapped them in the confines of 221b Baker Street.

Book The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories Part XIV

Download or read book The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories Part XIV written by David Marcum and published by Andrews UK Limited. This book was released on 2019-07-08 with total page 587 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1881, a weary doctor - wounded while serving in the military in Afghanistan - returned to London, only to be introduced to a most unusual young man who was already making a name for himself as the world’s first consulting detective. At that time, the young man and his unique colleague were only just in their late twenties, unaware of their legendary futures... but they would go on to become two of the most famous and recognizable figures in the world: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson. In 1887, Holmes and Watson’s first investigation as a team - A Study in Scarlet - was published. The Sign of Four followed in 1890, and then, in 1891, the world was electrified with the publication of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in the newly-formed Strand Magazine... and the world would never be the same! Through the remainder of the nineteenth Century and all the way through the twentieth, Holmes and Watson’s fame would grow. We’re now well into the twenty-first century, yet the much-loved duo are just as popular today - if not even more so. In 2015, The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories burst upon the scene, featuring stories set within the canon’s correct time period, written by the very best of today’s Sherlockian authors from around the world. That first anthology, spread over three huge volumes, contained sixty-three stories and was the largest collection of its kind assembled at the time. Response was immediately and overwhelmingly positive, and soon there were calls from fans for additional collections. Over 150 contributors so far have joined together from around the world to produce well over three hundred new adventures to honour Sherlock Holmes, the man described by Watson as “the best and wisest whom I have ever known.” We now proudly present Parts XIII, XIV, and XV, three volumes which break the record of the initial triple offering, with an incredible sixty-six new adventures featuring the eternal duo Watson and Holmes. *** Part XIV in the popular MX series of new Sherlock Holmes stories features contributions from Charles Veley and Anna Elliott, Mark Sohn, David Marcum, S. Subramanian, Roger Riccard, Marcia Wilson, Tracy J. Revels, Arthur Hall, GC Rosenquist, Edwin A. Enstrom, Jayantika Ganguly, C.H. Dye, Matthew Booth, Stephen Herczeg, Geri Schear, Liz Hedgecock, Carl Heifetz, Gayle Lange Puhl, Harry DeMaio, I.A. Download or read book The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories Part XX written by David Marcum and published by Andrews UK Limited. This book was released on 2020-07-08 with total page 547 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 2015, the first three volumes of The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories arrived, containing over 60 stories in the true traditional Canonical manner, revisiting Holmes and Watson in those days where it is "always 1895" ... or a few decades on either side of that. That was the largest collection of new Holmes stories ever assembled, and originally planned to be a one-time event. But readers wanted more, and the contributors had more stories from Watson's Tin Dispatch Box, so the fun continued. Now, with the release of Parts XIX, XX, and XXI, the series has grown to over 450 new Holmes adventures by nearly 200 contributors from around the world. Since the beginning, all contributor royalties go to the Stepping Stones School for special needs children at Undershaw, one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's former homes, and to date the project has raised nearly $60,000 for the school. As has become the tradition, this new collection of 64 adventures features Holmes and Watson carrying out their masterful investigations from the early days of their friendship in Baker Street to the post-War years during Holmes's retirement. Along the way they are involved in some fascinating mysteries - some relating Untold Cases, others sequels to Canonical adventures, and a number progressing along completely unexpected lines. Join us as we return to Baker Street and discover more authentic adventures of Sherlock Holmes, described by the estimable Dr. Watson as "the best and wisest ... whom I have ever known." Featuring - Thomas Burns, Harry DeMaio, Tracy Revels, Steven Philip Jones, Mark Mower, Deanna Baran, Steve Herczeg, David Marcum, Arthur Hall, Will Murray, Gayle Lange Puhl, S.F.Bennett, Kevin Thornton, Christopher Todd, Matthew J. The character has made a huge impact on the 21st century, with multiple interpretations gaining a growing audience of new Sherlockians. But many fans of Sherlock and Elementary know very little about the original stories themselves. Watson is Not an Idiot is an opinionated exploration of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original canon, written to illustrate interesting features and historical elements of the stories from the perspective of a lifelong fan of the material. Book The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle

Download or read book The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle written by Arthur Conan Doyle and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2014-10-08 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Watson visits his friend Holmes at Christmas time and finds him contemplating a battered old hat, brought to him by the commissionaire Peterson after the hat and a Christmas goose had been dropped by a man in a scuffle with some street ruffians. Peterson takes the goose home to eat, but later returns to Holmes with a blue carbuncle his wife had found in the bird's crop (throat). Holmes makes some interesting deductions concerning the owner of the hat from simple observations of its condition, conclusions amply confirmed when an advertisement for the owner produces the man himself: Henry Baker. Holmes cannot resist such an intriguing mystery, and he and Watson set out across the city to determine exactly how the jewel, stolen from the Countess of Morcar during her stay at a hotel, wound up in a goose's crop. The man who dropped the goose, Mr. Henry Baker, comes to reclaim his hat in response to Holmes' advertisement. Holmes drops hints about how he saved the "innards" of the goose, but Baker fails to respond to them, simply saying that he is afraid goose remains are not much use. He does, however, give Holmes valuable information, eventually leading him to the conclusive stage of his investigation, at Covent Garden. Holmes offers a fresh goose to Henry Baker, who responds with gladness and departs, whereupon Holmes tells Watson that Baker is eliminated from the suspect list as he obviously knows nothing about the carbuncle. At Covent Garden, a salesman named Breckinridge gets angry with Holmes, complaining about all the people who have pestered him about geese sold recently to the landlord of the Alpha Inn. Clearly, someone else knows that the carbuncle was in a goose and is looking for the bird.
