Book Sharon s Freestyle Poetry Prose

Download or read book Sharon s Freestyle Poetry Prose written by Sharon M. French and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2002-02-20 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For my unique and rare style of writing poetry, I received an "Editor's Choice Award" from the International Library of Poetry. What's more amazing is how my poetry writing came about and it is not just on one subject, but many. In order to find out, you will have to take a deeper look into the book and read a little about my life. There is poetry on: Inspirational, Animal's, Bird's, Insects, Nature, Patriotism and more. Some are about depression, that I thought of leaving it out at one time. But decided to include this part because it does happen in real life. People I have met on-line have given me several compliments about my writings. Some say I should make a "Children's Book" with some of the poems. One Mother said she read "Busy, Busy Bees" to her daughter, and she started singing it around the house.

Book excerpt: Sharon's Verses will make you aware of your life. By reading my poems you will learn to believe in yourself and your own abilities. God is explored on a spiritual and emotional level. You can learn what God is and what he can do for you in your struggles and hardships. Love is explored as a dream or realistic sensation, which can mean "grown as a flower" or it "fills up the deep blue sea." You can learn about love in my poems in a special way. Dreaming about love can be looked at in relationships. It can mean missing a girl or having a long-lost love. Love and friendship go hand in hand, like in my poem "Rich Friend." Friends are forever, and so is love when it is real. Nature is looked at in a beautiful fashion, such as blossoms, doves, or turtles' eggs. The beach is where someone wants to be reunited with their remembered love. Nature is a wonderful part of life, and the poem "Wonderful Things Should Last" expresses this beauty. My book will enrich your life as it does mine. Please read it and remember where you are going in this world. It can be sailing, church, or to a barbecue with friends. My poems will cover these topics and more. Enjoy!

Book Whirlwind

    Book Details:
  • Author : Sharon Dolin
  • Publisher : University of Pittsburgh Press
  • Release : 2012-10-21
  • ISBN : 0822978407
  • Pages : 110 pages

Download or read book Whirlwind written by Sharon Dolin and published by University of Pittsburgh Press. This book was released on 2012-10-21 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whirlwind is one woman's frank, witty, mordant, sexy look at the breakup of a marriage and its emotional aftermath. With her characteristic linguistic play and mixture of poetic registers and styles, Sharon Dolin takes her readers on an off-the-tracks emotional ride through the whirlwind that goes by the name of divorce. Hang on tight. Here poems are never merely confessional, but use formal aplomb to ride the white-heat rage, hurt, denial, reflection, regret, wistfulness, desire, and sexual passion as they go hurtling through the many stages of grief after the death of a relationship and the rebirth of a more vital self. Dolin tackles difficult subjects unflinchingly in her poems: such as betrayal and the shame of the one being betrayed, being a parent within a volatile breakup, as well as some startling poems on the reawakening of sexuality and an attention to the natural world and politics. In her poem that won a Pushcart Prize, she dons the mask of the Furies to confront her ex-husband and his lover. A journalist of her own heart, Sharon Dolin has written a brazen collection that seethes with the pressure of a story to tell: cathartic and thrilling in equal measure.

Book UNHINGED

    Book Details:
  • Author : Sharon Charde
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2019-06-22
  • ISBN : 9781421836317
  • Pages : 34 pages

Download or read book UNHINGED written by Sharon Charde and published by . This book was released on 2019-06-22 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The poems in Unhinged open wide the doors between love and loss, past and present, life and death. Charde teaches us that to study any subject is to reckon with its opposite: how she can choose the commitment of marriage, while wanting "to keep moving"; how she honors the loss of her son, a grief that still shouts "like the emperor peonies/ burning red in [her] garden," while also wanting "to lasso [her] life to a more merciful anchor"; how she faces her own mortality, thanking death for giving her "singularity, a kind of dignity" exactly when she is "learning to love the fire" of life. Charde's honesty is disarming: here, grief is not melodramatic but intimate--these poems teach us that to let grief open us we must let it lead us beyond what>s static, standard, or finite. Only then can we claim the hard-earned understanding that "the life [we] have is/ the one worth living in. Sharon Charde is not only a poet. A family therapist, a former shaman-in-training, a volunteer writing teacher to delinquent girls in a residential treatment facility, a minimally competent carpenter and devoted yoga practitioner, she is a veteran of fifty-five years of marriage to the same man. Her life as wife, mother and grandmother informs her poems as well as a memoir that will come out next year. She has been published widely in literary journals, including Poet Lore, Upstreet, Rattle, Calyx and Ping Pong, and has one full-length poetry collection, Branch In His Hand, as well as four prize-winning chapbooks and many award-winning poems. Four Trees From Ponte Sisto, an hour-long radio drama shaped from her poems was broadcast by the BBC in 2012. She currently continues to teach the women's writing retreats she developed twenty-five years ago and has been leading ever since. Charde has been awarded fellowships to The Corporation Of Yaddo, The MacDowell Colony, Virginia Center For The Creative Arts and Vermont Studio Center.

Book Among the Hustle and Bustle of Life

Download or read book Among the Hustle and Bustle of Life written by Sharon Noll and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2016-02-29 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Among the Hustle and Bustle of Life By Sharon Noll The pain comes. It takes over your body, mind and spirit. Eventually you feel empty. Suffering a loss or change makes you take a look back and ponder on what got you to this point. Things are not the same. We enter unfamiliar territory. In this poem you will discover what God requires of us to move forward. The decision is ours. Starting to pick up the pieces, one at a time, is not an easy task. Do you feel you carry this burden alone? Take a second look. Some things we can control and others we cannot. Our answers lie on what God’s plan is for us. Accepting this will lead us to lean on His wisdom and not our own.
