Wizard's Rise: For over two hundred years, the Rye Empire outlawed the use of magic. Now, the empire has fallen, and a new, sinister power is rising. Ambitious and corrupt, The Mountain King will stop at nothing to reach his goals. To save the Old Empire from his evil magic, seventeen-year-old farm boy Mykal and his friends begin a desperate journey to collect crucially important talismans before the Mountain King. But a war is coming, and their time is running out. And if they fail, a terrible darkness will steal the light from the Grey Ashland Realm... forever. Wizard's War: To stop the Mountain King, the realms across land and sea must unify. But time is not on their side. Mykal and his friends must warn King Nabal of the Mountain King's invasion of Grey Ashland. Magic has become the weapon of choice in war, and Mykal is still unsure of his abilities as a wizard. His skill and resolve will soon be put to the test, as the flames of war threaten to engulf them all. Queens Of Osiris: After women start going missing from the kingdom, Hermon Cordillera’s daughters are unable to find whoever is responsible for the growing number of abductions. Meanwhile, Mykal - the young wizard - continues honing his magical skills with his mother, and his tactical training with Blodwyn, his oldest friend. Tasked with unravelling the mystery of the disappeared women, they soon realize they're ill-prepared for the untold dangers that await them. This time, they will need more than Mykal's magic to survive. Assassin's Promise: When Blodwyn was a young boy, the King's Watch combed the lands in search of wizards, witches and anyone else practicing magic. Left an orphan because of this, Blodwyn's plan is simple: learn everything he can about killing, and track down the Watch. Working his way towards revenge with the dangerous assassin, Rasheed, Blodwyn soon faces a decision what will change his life forever.

The Gold Claw Desakar had trained, groomed, and taught Keron Astutry about Shawn Arc’s ideals. But with the successful destruction of Earth, the Gold Claw Desakar reveal that Keron is the pure blood descendant of Shawn Arc. Thus, the infamous family name of Arc is restored to Keron. The IRF Empire’s elite guard also instruct Keron Arc to marry his sister Tera and continue the Arc bloodline. Upon the revelation of the Arc lineage still being alive and well, the Atlonian Confederation, with name and homeworld changed, mercilessly seek to wipe out the Arc line that their forefathers failed to do. However, in the AC’s bloodthirsty and reckless attempt to stomp out the Arc family, they end up creating one of the most destructive Arcs ever. Severed Galaxy is part of the Conqueror of the Sun series and specifically categorized under the W.A.R. Chronicles set of side storybooks. Download or read book Empires of the Sand written by Efraim Karsh and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2001-04-02 with total page 426 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Empires of the Sand offers a bold and comprehensive reinterpretation of the struggle for mastery in the Middle East during the long nineteenth century (1789-1923). This book denies primacy to Western imperialism in the restructuring of the region and attributes equal responsibility to regional powers. Rejecting the view of modern Middle Eastern history as an offshoot of global power politics, the authors argue that the main impetus for the developments of this momentous period came from the local actors. Ottoman and Western imperial powers alike are implicated in a delicate balancing act of manipulation and intrigue in which they sought to exploit regional and world affairs to their greatest advantage. Backed by a wealth of archival sources, the authors refute the standard belief that Europe was responsible for the destruction of the Ottoman Empire and the region's political unity. Instead, they show how the Hashemites played a decisive role in shaping present Middle Eastern boundaries and in hastening the collapse of Ottoman rule. Similarly, local states and regimes had few qualms about seeking support and protection from the infidel powers they had vilified whenever their interests so required. Karsh and Karsh see a pattern of pragmatic cooperation and conflict between the Middle East and the West during the past two centuries, rather than a clash of civilizations. Such a vision affords daringly new ways of viewing the Middle East's past as well as its volatile present.
