Book Decision Trees for Fault Diagnosis in Circuits and Switching Networks

Download or read book Decision Trees for Fault Diagnosis in Circuits and Switching Networks written by Monther Busbait and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-09-11 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, we study decision trees for fault diagnosis in circuits and switching networks, which are among the most fundamental models for computing Boolean functions. We consider two main cases: when the scheme (circuit or switching network) has the same mode of operation for both calculation and diagnostics, and when the scheme has two modes of operation—normal for calculation and special for diagnostics. In the former case, we get mostly negative results, including superpolynomial lower bounds on the minimum depth of diagnostic decision trees depending on scheme complexity and the NP-hardness of construction diagnostic decision trees. In the latter case, we describe classes of schemes and types of faults for which decision trees can be effectively used to diagnose schemes, when they are transformed into so-called iteration-free schemes. The tools and results discussed in this book help to understand both the possibilities and challenges of using decision trees to diagnose faults in various schemes. The book is useful to specialists both in the field of theoretical and technical diagnostics. It can also be used for the creation of courses for graduate students.

Book A Study of Fault Diagnosis of Sequential Logic Networks

Download or read book A Study of Fault Diagnosis of Sequential Logic Networks written by B. D. Carroll and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 25 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The research conducted on this project was concerned with the problem of test pattern generation for sequential logic circuits. More specifically, an algorithm was sought for generating test patterns for detecting single stuck-at faults in synchronous sequential circuits containing clocked flip-flop memory elements. In addition to the principal problem stated above, the related problems of test pattern generation for combinational iterative logic arrays and of test pattern generation for multiple faults in combinational logic circuits were also studied. A summary of the results obtained and the conclusions reached on the above problems is given. Suggestions for follow-on studies are discussed. Reprints of all papers published on the project are included in an appendix.

Book Multiple Fault Diagnosis in Combinational Networks

Download or read book Multiple Fault Diagnosis in Combinational Networks written by Charles Wei-Yuan Cha and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new concept, the prime fault, is introduced for the study of multiple fault diagnosis in combinational logic networks. It is shown that every multiple fault in a network can be represented by a functionally equivalent fault with prime faults as its only components. The use of prime faults greatly simplifies multiple fault analysis and test generation.

Book Fault Diagnosis of Hybrid Dynamic and Complex Systems

Download or read book Fault Diagnosis of Hybrid Dynamic and Complex Systems written by Moamar Sayed-Mouchaweh and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-03-27 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Online fault diagnosis is crucial to ensure safe operation of complex dynamic systems in spite of faults affecting the system behaviors. Consequences of the occurrence of faults can be severe and result in human casualties, environmentally harmful emissions, high repair costs, and economical losses caused by unexpected stops in production lines. The majority of real systems are hybrid dynamic systems (HDS). In HDS, the dynamical behaviors evolve continuously with time according to the discrete mode (configuration) in which the system is. Consequently, fault diagnosis approaches must take into account both discrete and continuous dynamics as well as the interactions between them in order to perform correct fault diagnosis. This book presents recent and advanced approaches and techniques that address the complex problem of fault diagnosis of hybrid dynamic and complex systems using different model-based and data-driven approaches in different application domains (inductor motors, chemical process formed by tanks, reactors and valves, ignition engine, sewer networks, mobile robots, planetary rover prototype etc.). These approaches cover the different aspects of performing single/multiple online/offline parametric/discrete abrupt/tear and wear fault diagnosis in incremental/non-incremental manner, using different modeling tools (hybrid automata, hybrid Petri nets, hybrid bond graphs, extended Kalman filter etc.) for different classes of hybrid dynamic and complex systems.

Book Logic Synthesis for Low Power VLSI Designs

Download or read book Logic Synthesis for Low Power VLSI Designs written by Sasan Iman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Logic Synthesis for Low Power VLSI Designs presents a systematic and comprehensive treatment of power modeling and optimization at the logic level. More precisely, this book provides a detailed presentation of methodologies, algorithms and CAD tools for power modeling, estimation and analysis, synthesis and optimization at the logic level. Logic Synthesis for Low Power VLSI Designs contains detailed descriptions of technology-dependent logic transformations and optimizations, technology decomposition and mapping, and post-mapping structural optimization techniques for low power. It also emphasizes the trade-off techniques for two-level and multi-level logic circuits that involve power dissipation and circuit speed, in the hope that the readers can better understand the issues and ways of achieving their power dissipation goal while meeting the timing constraints. Logic Synthesis for Low Power VLSI Designs is written for VLSI design engineers, CAD professionals, and students who have had a basic knowledge of CMOS digital design and logic synthesis.
