Book Solid State Pulse Circuits

Download or read book Solid State Pulse Circuits written by David A. Bell and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1997 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume extensively covers semiconductor pulse circuits, explaining circuit operation and analysis, and discusses in detail practical pulse circuit design methods. The first chapters explain the characteristics of pulse waveforms and RC circuits that must be understood before the study of pulse circuitry can commence. The operation of diodes, BJTs, FETs, and op-amps in switching circuits is covered next. This leads to the design and analysis of inverters, Schmitt trigger circuits, multivibrators, IC timer circuits, ramp generators, and function generators. Logic gates, logic circuits, and IC logic families are also studied. After individual circuits and gates are studied, they are used as building blocks to explain digital counting, digital frequency meters, ADCs and DACs, pulse modulation, time division multiplexing. Many design and analysis examples are offered throughout the text. The circuit design approach is a simple step-by-step procedure. Device data sheets in the appendices are referred to, and standard-value components are selected.

Book Switching in Semiconductor Diodes

Download or read book Switching in Semiconductor Diodes written by Y.R. Nosov and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-12-14 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It gives me great pleasure to learn that this book, whose ori gin owes much to the work of American scientists and engineers on semiconductor technology, will reach American and other English speaking readers. I am grateful to Plenum Publishing Corporation for arranging the American edition of this book and to Mr. Albin Tybulewicz for his translation, September 5, 1968 Yu. R. Nosov v Preface to the Russian Edition One of the most important applications of semiconductor diodes is their use in electronic pulse circuits. The response of these diodes under switching conditions is governed by the phenomena of accumulation and dispersal of non equlibrium carriers, which are also observed in other p-n junction devices. It was found in the late 1940's that when point-contact ger manium diodes were used in circuits through which short (several tenths of a microsecond) electrical pulses were being passed, the 1 effective reverse resistance of these diodes decreased considerably below the static value. Further studies showed that when a diode was switched rapidly from the forward to the reverse direction, an anomalously large reverse current flowed for some time. In view of the importance of this phenomenon in the efforts to reduce the response time of pulse circuits, many investigations of the phenomenon were carried out and these investigations pro vided the basis of a theory of transient processes in semiconductor diodes.

Book Electronic Circuits

Download or read book Electronic Circuits written by Ulrich Tietze and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-12-09 with total page 1544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electronic Circuits covers all important aspects and applications of modern analog and digital circuit design. The basics, such as analog and digital circuits, on operational amplifiers, combinatorial and sequential logic and memories, are treated in Part I, while Part II deals with applications. Each chapter offers solutions that enable the reader to understand ready-made circuits or to proceed quickly from an idea to a working circuit, and always illustrated by an example. Analog applications cover such topics as analog computing circuits. The digital sections deal with AD and DA conversion, digital computing circuits, microprocessors and digital filters. This editions contains the basic electronics for mobile communications. The accompanying CD-ROM contains PSPICE software, an analog-circuit-simulation package, plus simulation examples and model libraries related to the book topics.

Book Transistor Switching and Sequential Circuits

Download or read book Transistor Switching and Sequential Circuits written by John J. Sparkes and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Transistor Switching and Sequential Circuits presents the basic ideas involved in the construction of computers, instrumentation, pulse communication systems, and automation. This book discusses the design procedure for sequential circuits. Organized into two parts encompassing eight chapters, this book begins with an overview of the ways on how to generate the types of waveforms needed in digital circuits, principally ramps, square waves, and delays. This text then considers the behavior of some simple circuits, including the inverter, the emitter follower, and the long-tailed pair. Other chapters examine the significant methods of producing non-sinusoidal waveforms, such as saw-tooth waves or square waves. This book discusses as well the procedures in organizing a circuit, which can be used in more complex applications than in the design of counters. The final chapter deals with the principle of machine multiplication. This book is a valuable resource for students engaged in the design and construction of digital or switching circuits.
