Book excerpt: When you breathe in all the grace available to you and release everything that is outside of your control, you'll discover peace that surpasses your circumstances. All it takes is practice. If you feel overwhelmed with anxiety about the future, you're far from alone. For many of us, when we're not worrying about what is to come, we find ourselves wrestling with things from the past. Where does that leave us today? Morgan Harper Nichols has learned the answer to this question. She has examined stories from her own life and the lives of people around the world and noticed a common thread: we all long for peace. We're all seeking light and life. But these things don't happen passively. Peace Is a Practice invites you to become a peacemaker in your own life, starting right where you are, and in some of the most unexpected places. As these words and images inspire you to take daily steps toward peace, you'll uncover the key to: Embracing the beauty of the present Letting go of regret of the past and fear of the future Developing a path toward meaning and authenticity Approaching life's challenges with faith and a calm confidence Feeling peace even in the midst of uncertainty or difficult times In every moment, there is something as deep and boundless as a winding river waiting to be found--a true peace that flows, beckoning you to rest . . . and be still.

Book Seeking Peace

Download or read book Seeking Peace written by Mary Bray Pipher and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2009 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this inspiring memoir, the author of Reviving Ophelia explores her personal search for understanding, tranquility, and respect through her work as a psychologist and seeker. "There are three kinds of secrets, " Pipher says. "Those we keep from everyone, those we keep from certain people, and those we keep from ourselves. Writing this book forced me to deal with all three." After decades of exploring the lives of others through her writing and therapy, Pipher turns her attention to herself--culling insights from her own life to highlight the importance of the journey, not just the destination. She tells her own remarkable story, and in the process reveals truths about our search for happiness and love. While her story is unique, the basic map and milestones are universal--reflecting on her life in a way that allows readers to reimagine theirs.--From publisher description.

Yet it sweeps our world unnoticedcreating an epidemic of immense proportion and leaving chaos in its wake. The roots of critical addiction are perpetuated through our Inner Critic, who finds fault with others and ourselves. Breaking Free from Critical Addiction clearly explains causes and symptoms of critical addiction. Using the Four Steps to Freedom, it then offers relief from your Inner Critics tyranny. This mental detox prepares you to create a life you enjoy. After all, you cant brew good coffee in a dirty pot! Thats the real secret. Kalie Marinos masterpiece paves the route to dissolve individual and global self-defeating ways with stories, physics, and age-old wisdom set to the tune of inner and external peace. Be prepared for your Inner Critic to be transformed into an Inner Coach with a new set of songs, all in the key of gratitude. Perhaps you are very familiar with your Inner Critic, but the two of you have never been properly introduced. Kalie aptly makes that introduction and then skillfully speaks to both of you throughout this book, inviting you to make peace with the mental roommate that pays no rent and was never really invited to stay in the first place. She invites you both to grab a seat and have a listen. It will change your world and the world of those around you. - Pamela Maliniak

Book Finding Peace Through Prayer

Download or read book Finding Peace Through Prayer written by Dr. Clarence V. Sanders and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2015-05-18 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The greatest and most valuable benefit of prayer is that we can draw near to God and learn from him. In this book, it shows us that we need to reserve more time to pray and meditate. When I pray the Lords prayer, I often wonder, how is our Fathers will done in heaven? In this book, we learn no matter where we are or what we are struggling with in life, God is always with us to bless and comfort us. Our Heavenly Father is with us in every difficult time and trial. In this book, we learn how God watches over us, comforts us, and loves us with an everlasting love that never fails. This book helps us to hear, to receive, and to respond because it lays us open to unforeseen conclusions. True spiritual transformation can happen when we allow the word of God to address us rather than us trying to control it and its effect on us. Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isa. 41:10, NIV). The key to understanding lifes storms is in your private meditation with the Lord. Ask him to give you understanding that you may apply it to your heart. And this I pray that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment (Phil. 1:9). Put what you have into his hands, and he will make it valuable. Prayer is intended for spiritual communication and for requesting things from God. It provides spiritual fellowship and communion. God tells us to ask him for what we need. We are encouraged to make our requests to the father in Jesuss name.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why is everyone so angry online? The internet seems to have brought the world together only so we can tear each other apart. Social media platforms have become toxic and polarizing environments. Many of us are overwhelmed and disillusioned by endless online conflict and negativity. How did we get here, and what can we do about it? The internet changes not only how we communicate but also what we communicate. Pastor and former radio host Douglas Bursch provides a spiritual examination of why social media divides people and how Christians can address polarization through a ministry of peacemaking. Digital media dehumanizes and disembodies us, dulling our ability to know when to speak and when to remain silent. But healthy online communication is possible through a constructive posture of reconciliation. Bursch offers practical examples of how to proactively manage social media and handle online conflict in redemptive ways. Together we can change the discourse of online Christian communication. Discover how we can use social media in a positive, Christ-like manner.

Book Peace Be Still John 14 27

Download or read book Peace Be Still John 14 27 written by Unknown Hebrew and published by Unknown Hebrew. This book was released on 2022-02-14 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first words that YAHUSHUA spoke after the resurrection according to John 20:19 were, Shalom or Peace be unto you. YAHUSHUA said, "...Shalom...." He was making a statement of fact, and the ambiance in the room changed. Why did YAHUSHUA choose these words to speak? The disciples were in fear of the religious leaders; however, once they saw Him, they knew the "peace," the "shalom" that he had just proclaimed was stronger than their fear. "Peace" must be essential because it was the first thing YAHUSHUA said after rising from the dead. Similarly, YAHUSHUA commanded "peace" to the storm on the Sea of Galilee, and it was peace He spoke to His disciples in that room. In Hebrew, the word " Peace" is "Shalom," an absence of chaos or war; it is completeness, tranquility. YAHUSHUA displayed the meaning of peace when he commanded the winds and the waves to obey Him. In Mark 4:39, it reads, " And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm." It is precisely what happened in the upper room when YAHUSHUA appeared amid his disciples. He told His disciples to be calm; stop all the fear and chaos. Be at peace. The word "Shalom" is used for "Peace" 209 times in the Scriptures, and when it is used, it is used in terms of removing fear. Paul understood "shalom," when he wrote to the temple in Rome. Romans 10:15 reads, "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace....” In Matthew 5:9, YAHUSHUA says, "Blessed are the for they shall be called the children of ELOHIM." The "peace" that YAHUSHUA came to provide for us is not a "peace" that this world can have because the world is in darkness. YAHUSHUA said it like this, in John 16:33, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." YAHUSHUA is telling us that HaShatan will try to arouse us with the cares of this world, but do not let the fear that we will go through deter us. Zechariah, prophesied YAHUSHUA would bring light into darkness and provide a way to guide our feet into the way of peace. Look at how Paul describes it in Ephesians 6:15, here he is talking about the armor of ELOHIM; it reads, "And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace." To put it another way, walk in the way of peace. Walk in the peace of ELOHIM. Bring to mind John 14:27; it said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Also, in Matthew 10:13, it reads, "And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you." Isaiah 26:3 tells us, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee..." If our mind is stayed on ELOHIM because we trust in ELOHIM, the "peace" of ELOHIM is the "peace" that passes all understanding. As we gain knowledge and understanding of "peace," we will discover why YAHUSHUA said in Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the for they shall be called the children of ELOHIM." Having "peace" in a world that is not His, walking in "shalom," and in the fruits of the Spirit, should be our ultimate goal. Throughout the Bible, we are encouraged to have "peace." How do we find "peace?" Why are we lacking "shalom?" Click the buy now button now, and enjoy your journey into Shalom.
