Book Drawing Telling Bible Stories

Download or read book Drawing Telling Bible Stories written by Thomas David Burleigh and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-06-24 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everyone loves hearing a good story. Even better than a told story, however, is one that unfolds before your eyes. I noticed that if I read a story from the Bible, the children in my Sunday school class were often not listening. However, if I told the story while drawing it out cartoon-style, on a large sheet of paper taped to the wall, the kids were riveted to the story. These are the drafts of the Bible stories that I used to teach the children in Sunday school. I would start the drawing with the background, hills or buildings in the first panel, and then I would add the characters in the foreground as they are introduced to the story. This idea for drawing the Bible stories while telling them is from a book I read many years ago. I have not been able to find that book again. Therefore, I am providing these sketches in hopes that someone else can use them. The stories are listed in the same order as they are in the Bible. Kids of all ages benefit by knowing the Bible stories.

Book Computer Graphics from Scratch

Download or read book Computer Graphics from Scratch written by Gabriel Gambetta and published by No Starch Press. This book was released on 2021-05-18 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computer Graphics from Scratch demystifies the algorithms used in modern graphics software and guides beginners through building photorealistic 3D renders. Computer graphics programming books are often math-heavy and intimidating for newcomers. Not this one. Computer Graphics from Scratch takes a simpler approach by keeping the math to a minimum and focusing on only one aspect of computer graphics, 3D rendering. You’ll build two complete, fully functional renderers: a raytracer, which simulates rays of light as they bounce off objects, and a rasterizer, which converts 3D models into 2D pixels. As you progress you’ll learn how to create realistic reflections and shadows, and how to render a scene from any point of view. Pseudocode examples throughout make it easy to write your renderers in any language, and links to live JavaScript demos of each algorithm invite you to explore further on your own. Learn how to: Use perspective projection to draw 3D objects on a 2D plane Simulate the way rays of light interact with surfaces Add mirror-like reflections and cast shadows to objects Render a scene from any camera position using clipping planes Use flat, Gouraud, and Phong shading to mimic real surface lighting Paint texture details onto basic shapes to create realistic-looking objects Whether you’re an aspiring graphics engineer or a novice programmer curious about how graphics algorithms work, Gabriel Gambetta’s simple, clear explanations will quickly put computer graphics concepts and rendering techniques within your reach. All you need is basic coding knowledge and high school math. Computer Graphics from Scratch will cover the rest.

Book Wee Ones Bible Stories

Download or read book Wee Ones Bible Stories written by Anonymous and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2014-03-08 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wee Ones' Bible Stories - Short Sketches of The Bible - Specially Illustrated for the Little FolksIncludes: Feeding the Multitudes - Jesus Calms the Tempest - Ruth and Naomi – Moses - Jacob and Esau - The Apostle Paul – David - The Tower of Babel - The Boyhood of Jesus.Jesus had chosen twelve out of the many who flocked about Him wishing to be His disciples, and these twelve were called apostles. He sent them forth to preach the gospel, giving them power to cast out evil spirits and to heal diseases; and when they were about to go forth upon their mission, He gave them instructions regarding what they were to do, and warned them of the persecutions which would be heaped upon them. He also bade them be strong and not fear those who had power to kill the body only, because the soul was far more precious. So the apostles went out into the cities and towns and preached the word of God and carried blessing with them. When they came back they told Jesus what they had done, and they went with Him across the sea of Galilee to a quiet spot where they could rest and talk over their work. But the people went around the sea, or lake, to join them on the other side; and when Jesus saw the crowds He was sorry for them, and taught and healed them again as He had done so many times. In the evening His disciples urged Him to send the people away that they might buy food for themselves in the village; but Jesus said, "Give ye them to eat."Christian Life - Spiritual Growth - Christian Education - Christian Sermons – Bible Study

Book Outside the Box

Download or read book Outside the Box written by Hillary L. Chute and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2014-04-10 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are living in a golden age of cartoon art. Never before has graphic storytelling been so prominent or garnered such respect: critics and readers alike agree that contemporary cartoonists are creating some of the most innovative and exciting work in all the arts. For nearly a decade Hillary L. Chute has been sitting down for extensive interviews with the leading figures in comics, and with Outside the Box she offers fans a chance to share her ringside seat. Chute’s in-depth discussions with twelve of the most prominent and accomplished artists and writers in comics today reveal a creative community that is richly interconnected yet fiercely independent, its members sharing many interests and approaches while working with wildly different styles and themes. Chute’s subjects run the gamut of contemporary comics practice, from underground pioneers like Art Spiegelman and Lynda Barry, to the analytic work of Scott McCloud, the journalism of Joe Sacco, and the extended narratives of Alison Bechdel, Charles Burns, and more. They reflect on their experience and innovations, the influence of peers and mentors, the reception of their art and the growth of critical attention, and the crucial place of print amid the encroachment of the digital age. Beautifully illustrated in full-color, and featuring three never-before-published interviews—including the first published conversation between Art Spiegelman and Chris Ware—Outside the Box will be a landmark volume, a close-up account of the rise of graphic storytelling and a testament to its vibrant creativity.
