Describes the effect of the application of the racial laws on the academic community and on the fate of Jewish scientists. Appendixes 1-3 (pp. 364-393) contain the "Manifesto degli scienziati razzisti" (published by a group of fascist scholars in July 1938 as "Il fascismo e i problemi della razza"), as well as letters and documents related to the manifesto and to fascist racial policy in general.
