Book Corporate Ethics Governance And Social Responsibility Precepts And Practices

Download or read book Corporate Ethics Governance And Social Responsibility Precepts And Practices written by A. C. Fernando and published by Pearson Education India. This book was released on 2009-09 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is profit-making the only goal of a business? Should an unbridled market mechanism drive corporate enterprise? To what extent should corporations compensate for the manifest and hidden costs that are incurred by the society at large? These are some of the questions that have engaged specialist economists, business barons, corporate heads and management experts for decades. A consensus has emerged that corporate practices cannot bypass the fundamental demands of ethical behaviour, that administration and policies of governance have to be more transparent and publicly accountable, and that businesses must be sensitive to the community and environment within which they are established. This has led to the emergence of three key concepts of contemporary businesses, namely, business or corporate ethics, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘Knit India Through Literature...' is a mega literary project, first of its kind in Indian literature, is the result of the penance-yagna done for 16 years by Sivasankari, noted Tamil writer. 'Knit India Through Literature' has inolved intense sourcing, research and translation of literature from 18 Indian languages. The project she says aims to introduce Indians to other Indians through literature and culture and help knit them together. The interviews of stalwart writers from all 18 languages approved by the eighth schedule of Indian Constitution, accompanied by a creative work of the respective writer are published with her travelogues of different regions, along with an indepth article by a scholar on the cultural and literary heritage of each of the language, in four volumes - South, East, West and North respectively. Her travelogues, her interviews and the overview of each literature she has sought, all reveal one important unity... the concern our writers and poets express in their works for the problems that beset our country today. Through her project Sivasankari feels writers can make an invaluable contribution with their writings to change the thinking of the people and help eliminate those problems. In this volume ‘East’ she deals with five languages Assamese, Bengali, Meitei, Nepali and Oriya that are spoken in eastern region of India.

Book Genetic Algorithms and Fuzzy Logic Systems

Download or read book Genetic Algorithms and Fuzzy Logic Systems written by Elie Sanchez and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1997 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ever since fuzzy logic was introduced by Lotfi Zadeh in the mid-sixties and genetic algorithms by John Holland in the early seventies, these two fields widely been subjects of academic research the world over. During the last few years, they have been experiencing extremely rapid growth in the industrial world, where they have been shown to be very effective in solving real-world problems. These two substantial fields, together with neurocomputing techniques, are recognized as major parts of soft computing: a set of computing technologies already riding the waves of the next century to produce the human-centered intelligent systems of tomorrow; the collection of papers presented in this book shows the way. The book also contains an extensive bibliography on fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms.

Book Genetic Algorithms and Soft Computing

Download or read book Genetic Algorithms and Soft Computing written by Francisco Herrera and published by Physica. This book was released on 1996-10 with total page 736 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Soft Computing is concerned with modes of computing in which precision is treated for tractability, robustness and ease of implementation, and it contains Fuzzy Sets and Genetic Algorithms among its components. Each of them have different advantages to deal with nonlinearity or explicit knowledge expression, but learning capability, as well as global and local search approaches provided by Genetic Algorithms are remarkable. This book will be revealing for all those interested in new developments and practical applications in the interface between Soft Computing and Genetic Algorithms.

Book Knowledge Management and Organizational Learning

Download or read book Knowledge Management and Organizational Learning written by William R. King and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-06-13 with total page 387 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Knowledge management (KM) is a set of relatively-new organizational activities that are aimed at improving knowledge, knowledge-related practices, organizational behaviors and decisions and organizational performance. KM focuses on knowledge processes—knowledge creation, acquisition, refinement, storage, transfer, sharing and utilization. These processes support organizational processes involving innovation, individual learning, collective learning and collaborative decision-making. The “intermediate outcomes” of KM are improved organizational behaviors, decisions, products, services, processes and relationships that enable the organization to improve its overall performance. Knowledge Management and Organizational Learning presents some 20 papers organized into five sections covering basic concepts of knowledge management; knowledge management issues; knowledge management applications; measurement and evaluation of knowledge management and organizational learning; and organizational learning.

Book Fuzzy Evolutionary Computation

Download or read book Fuzzy Evolutionary Computation written by Witold Pedrycz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As of today, Evolutionary Computing and Fuzzy Set Computing are two mature, wen -developed, and higbly advanced technologies of information processing. Bach of them has its own clearly defined research agenda, specific goals to be achieved, and a wen setUed algorithmic environment. Concisely speaking, Evolutionary Computing (EC) is aimed at a coherent population -oriented methodology of structural and parametric optimization of a diversity of systems. In addition to this broad spectrum of such optimization applications, this paradigm otTers an important ability to cope with realistic goals and design objectives reflected in the form of relevant fitness functions. The GA search (which is often regarded as a dominant domain among other techniques of EC such as evolutionary strategies, genetic programming or evolutionary programming) delivers a great deal of efficiency helping navigate through large search spaces. The main thrust of fuzzy sets is in representing and managing nonnumeric (linguistic) information. The key notion (whose conceptual as weH as algorithmic importance has started to increase in the recent years) is that of information granularity. It somewhat concurs with the principle of incompatibility coined by L. A. Zadeh. Fuzzy sets form a vehic1e helpful in expressing a granular character of information to be captured. Once quantified via fuzzy sets or fuzzy relations, the domain knowledge could be used efficiently very often reducing a heavy computation burden when analyzing and optimizing complex systems.
