It is sometimes patient-sounding, sometimes playful, sometimes naughty, sometimes devious, sometimes abusive--sometimes frightening. It seeks always to give me permission to do evil. It prompts me to harm myself in the name of fun. It taunts me, calling me names that hurt me names that have had power over me since my childhood, names that prompt me to lash out, to act in ways that I would really rather not. And it criticizes me--constantly--a never-ending stream of cynical, personally targeted satire that leaves me angry, defensive, and depressed. Oh, I know the voice well. I hear it daily. Do you? Satan did many things to block the writing of this book. He may be telling you that you don't need to read it. If you've heard Satan's whispers, you need this book learn of his lies and find the power to break the lies that bind you!

Satan whispers in our thoughts, telling us all our faults in order to keep us captive to his stronghold. I have given strategies in this book that will help us overcome Satan's whispers, leading us to learn new ways in how we react to situations and turmoils. Book excerpt: Offering a perspective of the world as an arena of assessment and testing, this masterfully illuminating investigation explores the struggle between man and his archenemy, Satan. The book claims that success in life is based on knowing one?s enemies and developing strategies. Discussing the attributes of Satan and his methods of approach, this study references Satan?s most obvious trait?his declaration of war on humankind?and notes that his deception, whispers, trickery, and diabolical plots can only be effective when human beings display weakness. The only traditional prevention is to lead a pious life without leaving any gaps for the attacks of Satan and his aids, but this examination presents another prescription for protection from Satan?s evil?becoming spiritually equipped by attaining inner and outer unity and attaining cohesion between one?s heart and actions.

Book excerpt: Satan Roars! Whispering His Lies! By Sandra Mackey The Bible is not about Satan. The Bible is God’s message to his earthly family about his Son, Jesus Christ. However, since humanity’s fall in the Garden of Eden, Satan has been trying to steal God’s precious human creatures for his own evil purposes...precious human creatures that God’s own son died to save. Among other reasons, he does this to keep us from glorifying God and spreading the good news of the gospel. This book is a mystery of opposites and contradictions as we recognize the spiritual war taking place in our individual lives and in our world at large. Spiritual realities include God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, as well as God’s messengers and agents, whoever or whatever they may be. Yet they also include Satan as he prowls around seeking to destroy those who believe and obey God. He also has his messengers and agents, and if we believe that in this age there continues to be active participation in our lives by angels or other spirit beings, we can’t take the good and reject the evil. Nor should we accept the evil and resist the good. There is ample evidence of both forces at work among us. However, none of this will be frightening for children of God. Believers understand that this earth is not our home. We were created for the new heaven and new earth that Jesus Christ has prepared for us. I believe that heaven will be a home of endless joy and love, and that once again we will have access to the Tree of Life without any interference from Satan. Believers must know that this is our great hope to live righteously here on earth. In fact, because of our complete faith and hope in what is to come, we live with anticipation as if we were already there. “Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” (1 John 3:7–8)

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Obvious Secret: A Discipleship Journey to Christian Maturity By: Bruce C. Steffens The Obvious Secret explores the various major beliefs of the Christian faith from a logical and analytical standpoint. It is intended for two purposes. First, it is a resource to develop Christian discipleship curriculum for teachers and instructors. Secondly, it is self-study resource for seekers, new believers, and even established believers. It contains a systemic approach to understand the “why” of what we believe and then helps one to establish and deepen a personal relationship with God. The book is not intended to tell someone what to believe, but rather to give the logical reasons related to belief topics and allow a person to discover the truth of the belief for themselves. However, without a vibrant relationship with God, all the understanding of God’s principles and truths are academic. A mature disciple is the person whose best friend is God and who helps those around him or her to know God’s love and create their own relationship with God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Take a moment and imagine your history books devoid of war. Envision entire civilizations absent of heinous crimes against humanity. A planet spared from the plagues of slavery, cultural genocides, and the colonization of indigenous nations by foreigners. Would you dare make the choices necessary to maintain this Utopia in which universal peace existed? Could you ignore the Devil whispering in your ear, luring you away from a world in which loving your fellow man was the expectation, not the exception? In a state of reverie, an impractical idea of world peace has given birth to a culture in which the human race has chosen to live free of violent criminals. Instead, criminals have been systematically exiled to the lone prison city, Katingal, constructed in a far corner of Earth. Sentenced for the remainder of their natural lives, the wicked pit themselves against their soulless brethren. Exposure, disease, and starvation claim their victims daily. Those who survive nature’s wrath negotiate the perils of the prison city through murder and cannibalism. All the while, this inimitable death sentence satisfies civilization’s aim to punish the world’s irretrievable outcasts. Charles “Yäbälay” Gravo is the criminal mastermind behind the world’s largest human trafficking network. As a prime most-wanted fugitive, he sets into motion events that will forever alter the realities of both civilization’s Utopia and Katingal’s Hell.

Book If God Loves Me Why Can t I Get My Locker Open

Download or read book If God Loves Me Why Can t I Get My Locker Open written by Lorraine Peterson and published by Bethany House. This book was released on 2006-08 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since Oxford University Press's publication in 2000 of Michael Emerson and Christian Smith's groundbreaking study, Divided by Faith (DBF), research on racialized religion has burgeoned in a variety of disciplines in response to and in conversation with DBF. This conversation has moved outsideof sociological circles; historians, theologians, and philosophers have also engaged the central tenets of DBF for the purpose of contextualizing, substantiating, and in some cases, contesting the book's findings. In a poll published in January 2012, nearly 70% of evangelical churches professed adesire to be racially and culturally diverse. Currently, only around 8% of them have achieved this multiracial status. To an unprecedented degree, evangelical churches in the United States are trying to overcome the deep racial divides that persist in their congregations. Not surprisingly, many of these evangelicals have turned to DBF for solutions. The essays in Christians and the Color Line complicate the researchfindings of Emerson and Smith's study and explore new areas of research that have opened in the years since DBF's publication. The book is split into two sections. The chapters in the first section consider the history of American evangelicalism and race as portrayed in DBF. In the second sectionthe authors pick up where DBF left off, and discuss how American churches could ameliorate the problem of race in their congregations while also identifying problems that can arise from such attempted amelioration.

Book excerpt: For many of us, the attempt to live for God can leave us feeling burdened rather than free. Yet that's not the kind of life God intends for us to experience. What if he never meant for us to try so hard? What if overcoming sin doesn't rely on our own self-control? What if loving others isn't about saying and doing all the right things? What if suffering isn't designed to teach us lessons? What if we could feel closer to God without doing anything? In God's Best-Kept Secret, the founder of Grace Life International explodes our preconceived notions of living the Christian life, freeing us to stop just going through the motions and to experience true fulfillment. Illuminating commonly misunderstood Bible verses, Mark Maulding shows us that following God is not as complicated as we often make it out to be. And, in fact, the answer to our struggles has been hiding in plain sight all along.
