Download or read book Work Related Musculoskeletal Disorders Wmsds written by I Kourinkaetal and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1995 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Work related muskuloskeletal disorders, or WMSDs, have become a major problem in many industrialised countries. It was previously thought that the number of repetitive jobs would decline in the future, leading to a decline in the number of WMSDs: however, this has not been the case. Some government agencies expect WMSDs to be one of the major work-related disorders into the new Millenium. This book contains evaluated scientific information that will help prevent WMSDs, derived from original research and field experience via a Canadian Government sponsored project on work related musculoskeletal disorders. The expert group's goal was twofold: the first objective was to examine the work relatedness of WMSDs in the light of existing literature, and the second was to explore and synthesize information, avenues and approaches that could help in the prevention of WMSDS.

This book was released on 2020-04-06 with total page 657 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together papers presented at the 3rd Conference of Research in Economics and Management (CIREG) held in Morocco in May 2016. With a focus on the challenges of SMEs and innovative solutions, they highlight the contribution of researchers in the fields of business and management, with all their micro and macro-economic aspects. They shed light on the universal scientific vision of the importance of SMEs with answers relevant to their local context and adapted to their specific national situation. The relevance of SME research lies in its heuristic value of analyzing change, rather than in constructing a category, a particularly useful empirical concept. This third volume is focused on marketing and human resources.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although the concept of personal data protection began in Europe in the early 1970s, data protection legislation has been adopted in many countries. In Europe there is a wide divergence of policies between members of the EC, non-EC members and the new democracies of Eastern Europe. This volume explains these differences and also, uniquely, focuses on the abuses of personal data in the developing nations of Latin America, Asia and Africa. It also includes the latest national and international laws, initiatives and guidelines on personal data protection. It is the first reference work to combine these various documents in a single volume source.
Download or read book Social Psychiatry written by Paul Bebbington and published by Transaction Publishers. This book was released on 1991-01-01 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a major international compilation in the field of social psychiatry. Building upon the work of John Wing, director of the Social Psychiatry Unit of the Medical Research Council in Great Britain, these essays make up a series of variations on one of the basic themes of human existence--the interaction between people and their environment. The authors are concerned with social psychiatry; their attention is focused on those aspects of the environment that affect psychological states, whether of persons previously healthy or already suffering from some form of psychiatric illness or disability. Social relationships and psychiatric disturbances are murky ground for investigators, many of whom have become lost or returned with nothing but truisms or unvalidated assertions. In this collection, the editor has brought together leading international researchers in the field who combined a primary emphasis on theory and methodology with an equal regard for direct observation and practice and a scrupulous attention to detail. Insistence on the most accurate measurement possible is the natural consequence of an adherence to clear theoretical positions, which both informs and demands such an approach. This book springs from the work of the Medical Research Council's Social Psychiatric Unit, but because of the breadth of the Unit's concerns over the years, it is also a comprehensive work in the field of social psychiatry. It draws contributions from the leading international figures and will be a landmark work for professionals in social and clinical psychiatry, as well as for anyone with an interest in the social aspects of mental health.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last decade, nanomaterials have become a double-edged sword. On one hand, nanomaterials have proven their limitless potential not only for technological applications, but also for medical ones. On the other hand, the increasing use of these nanomaterials has raised concerns regarding their safety for environmental and human health, due to their potential toxicity. The toxic effects of nanomaterials depend on their type, surface geometry, diameter, length and function. This book intends to provide a comprehensive evidence-based overview of nanomaterial toxicity, from their synthesis and characterization, environmental impact, tests to assess their toxicity in vitro and in vivo, ways to modulate their impact on living organisms, to their beneficial use in biomedical applications.

Download or read book Health Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation Second Edition written by Bruce Fife and published by Piccadilly Books, Ltd.. This book was released on 2017-08-14 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are under continual attack from electromagnetic fields (EMFs) radiating from power lines, household wiring, microwave ovens, computers, televisions, clock radios, cellular phones, electric blankets, and other appliances. Researchers have correlated electropollution with increases in cancer, birth defects, depression, learning disabilities, chronic fatigue syndrome, Alzheimer’s disease, and sudden infant death syndrome. The danger is real and with increasing use of electricity in our environment it is one of the reasons why many scientists believe some disease rates are on the rise. EMFs are not blocked or weakened by trees, walls, buildings, or other structures. Like X-rays, they pass through these objects and into our bodies—disrupting normal cellular function and biological processes. Our greatest exposure to EMFs come from within our home and offices. All household and office appliances emit EMFs. But you cannot tell which are most dangerous by their size or function. Often the small devices like electric can openers and hair dryers are much more dangerous than the larger ones such as electric ovens or refrigerators. In this book you will find out: • About the dangers you face with EMF exposure • Why certain diseases persist in spite of medical treatment • If microwave ovens are safe or not • What home appliances are the most dangerous • Where we get the most exposure • How to find hidden EMF “hot spots” in our homes This book offers practical ways to protect yourself in your home and office from that effects of electromagnetic radiation. You will learn how to take simple precautionary steps to reduce EMF exposure by as much as 90 percent and virtually eliminate the threat of electropollution on your health. If you use electricity, you need this book!
