Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God, do you hear me? If we're honest, that's a sentiment we’ve all shared. Prayer can be challenging and confusing. Often we feel abandoned, betrayed, and anxious. We don't know what to pray for, we don't know the words to say, and sometimes it just feels like there's no one on the other side. Through the pages of this book, pastor and bestselling author Derwin Gray will journey with you, in learning and living the prayer that God always answers. This prayer is commonly called the Lord’s Prayer (Matt 6:9-13). The Lord's Prayer is the firm foundation God uses to build our lives on the Rock. It will help you break through to a completely new and refreshing prayer life. Along this journey, you'll learn several things about prayer: Prayer is the secret place where we find God waiting for us. Prayer is the door we enter to discover God’s heart of unending grace. Prayer is the home we have always wanted, where we can crawl into our Father’s lap and find our purpose. Prayer is not about getting God to give us stuff. It is about becoming who we were made to be: a reflection of Jesus in the world.

Book Running from God

  • Author : Monica R. Hayes
  • Publisher : Xlibris Corporation
  • Release : 2018-01-11
  • ISBN : 1543475558
  • Pages : 45 pages

Download or read book Running from God written by Monica R. Hayes and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-01-11 with total page 45 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I began writing this book in 2005 after moving into my house, the house I dreamed of having, and I thought everything was finally going to be perfect. The year 2005 was the beginning of more change than I could have ever imagined. My son was deployed to Iraq, my daughter was dealing with personal issues, and I was having unexpected challenges on my job. My normal reaction would have been to run away, uproot and move, and start over. I was a runner. I didn’t stay around very long to work through situations, and it was easier to run in another direction and just start over, but something had changed. I didn’t want to move anymore. I was tired of leaving what I had worked for and established, but I struggled to make the change. The one constant was completing my book. I came from a loving, respected family. I was educated and intelligent enough. I have been married. I have traveled. I have great kids, a supportive family, had good jobs, etc.—a lot to be thankful for—but something was still missing. By all accounts, my life should have gone along a predictable path, but it didn’t. I didn’t know how to make the necessary changes to have consistent inner peace and joy. Do you ever find yourself in a place where it would appear you had it all together—you are accomplished professionally, personally, and financially, and you have the perfect house, car, etc.—but something is still missing? I hope my book will be encouraging and can offer answers and solutions. It’s really very simple.

Book excerpt: Do you long for something more in your relationship with God? The good news is that “something more” does not mean “doing more.” God is not waiting for you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are. The real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?” Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a “glory ache”—a longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. She also knows how easily working for God can get in the way of intimacy with God. And she’s discovered that we tend to make our faith journey much too hard. In A Sudden Glory, Sharon uses Scripture and story to help you erase the line between your “spiritual life” and your “daily life” as you enter the sanctuary of God’s presence even in the middle of your busy, messy day. Here you will find your eyes opened to moments of sudden glory in which the Creator assures you of His love as you live and move and have your being in Him. Here you will discover true freedom—the freedom of experiencing God in a deeper and more intimate way than ever before. Includes Bible study and discussion guide.

Running from the Heart is a collection of devotions from a very British girl who absolutely loved Jesus. During her last eight years, when Rebecca’s life had been turned upside down, she wrote tenderly of her sorrow and joy in the unexplained ways of God. Described by some as a modern-day saint, her legacy to us is a remarkable life well lived that will inspire and encourage you on your spiritual journey. “Rebecca is a role model of the type of woman I want to be. I became more inspired by her as I witnessed her unmatched faith. She helped me see what a young woman living for the Lord looks like and made me want to be like her.” “Rebecca’s example lives on, inspiring me and everyone who had the gift of knowing her.” “Rebecca was one of the two most holy women I had ever met! When I heard the news of her being called home, in some ways, I wasn’t surprised!”
