Download or read book The Qi of the Scalpel written by Frank Seinsheimer and published by Bookbaby. This book was released on 2020-09 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is it like to use a scalpel for the first time? What do you do when your supervising surgeon instructs you to do something you think is wrong? What does it feel like when you first lose your first patient--or when you save your first patient? In this medical memoir, one surgeon relates his experiences as he goes from a bright-eyed medical student to an orthopedic surgeon with nearly four decades of practice to his credit. Through a memoir told in vignettes and short anecdotes, you'll follow one doctor's journey from medical school to residency to fellowship to practice. An adventure story that relates both the highs and the lows, including the embarrassments and epiphanies, mistakes and successes, the errors made and the lessons learned, it paints a realistic picture of the medical and surgical practice using both honesty and humor.

Book Ruminations of a Retiree

Download or read book Ruminations of a Retiree written by Natarajan and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2020-01-21 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An essay is a piece of non-fiction writing that discusses a specific topic in depth but with brevity. After the time of Montaigne of France and Francis Bacon of England, who were the pioneers and guides in essay writing, the subjects and form of essays have ramified (17 types). Now, essays are an integral part of the language curriculum in schools. In the segment of non-fiction, the essays are a genre in themselves. Present-day essays need to be short but loaded with information on the topic covered. In this volume in your hand, the author has attempted to cover topics of common interest to inquisitive readers at large, from every walk of the society. These essays are humorous, emotive, informative and instructive too. They are encapsulated chronicles of the past and present. The reader may randomly pick up any page to browse through; the narratives which are, in length, sized down to your span of attention, are sure to keep you more informed.

Book Ruminations Selected Philosophical Historical and Ideological Papers Volume 1 Part 2 The Finite

Download or read book Ruminations Selected Philosophical Historical and Ideological Papers Volume 1 Part 2 The Finite written by Eric v.d. Luft and published by Gegensatz Press. This book was released on 2020-09-13 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the 1970s I have pursued three separate but overlapping and sometimes simultaneous careers: (1) philosopher / writer / teacher / historian of the long nineteenth century, 1789-1914; (2) editor / translator / photographer / publisher / biographer / encyclopedist; (3) cataloging librarian / rare books and special collections librarian / historian of medicine. Somehow these three vocations have garnered me some acclaim, even an entry in Who's Who in America. Each of them has resulted in some published or presented works. Because these works have been scattered in a wide variety of venues, some of which have gone out of print or have otherwise become generally unavailable - and of course with the oral presentations being gone as soon as they are given - I have thought it wise to select, epitomize, and bring them together in one place - here. Thus, what follows in these volumes is what I consider to be the most important of my shorter works. All translations are my own unless otherwise indicated.
