Book Awakened The 5 Elements

Download or read book Awakened The 5 Elements written by Daniel Chaidez and published by Daniel Chaidez. This book was released on 2024-01-30 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Self-Freedom refers to 5 fundamental elements Water, Earth, Fire, Metal, and Wind as being symbolic perspective and not a belief to the Elements themselves. They merely stand as a representation of sharing characteristics of the five guidelines to freedom. Spiritual, Physical, Actional, Mental, and Industrial. These are recognized as the fundamental emotional basis for our secured, and unsecured thoughts, and actions which structure our perceptions. Awakened is to be self-aware of these physical and mental confinements, because how we interact with them can create an institution, fortress, or castle. Becoming Self-Awakened is to possess the key to make it your Castle, and be the King. The goal of this Self-Freedom book isn’t to open the door for you, but rather hand you the keys to control your own self. The freedom is for you to be aware and to be Awakened!

Follow along with Cristofo, a sharp-minded and exceptionally skilled young prodigy who can do little to suppress his excitement when he hears of an impending visit from one of his grandfather’s longtime friends who just so happens to be a venerated wizard of the highest repute. Bewilderment takes hold of the seasoned conjurer as well as the starry-eyed youngster when the two eventually come face-to-face, and the boy’s remarkable nature and irrepressible spirit comes to reveal an inevitability that simply cannot be ignored. And so, at the onset of their initial encounter, it is determined without question that a wizardly vocation would be Cristofo’s destiny. And the rest is history as adventures and fiercely savage battles abound, wherein the affluent and supremely trained young champion associates with and encounters a wide assortment of creatures and characters of variegated origins, qualities, and kinds. Immerse yourself into the fantastical storytelling, where a new and refreshing vitality is breathed into the admittedly underdeveloped genre on wizards. This is a whimsical work of fiction written in a Tolkien-inspired style and with a middle earth–resembling flavor and feel.

Book B Side

  • Author : Andy Cowan
  • Publisher : SCB Distributors
  • Release : 2023-06-06
  • ISBN : 1915316146
  • Pages : 412 pages

Download or read book B Side written by Andy Cowan and published by SCB Distributors. This book was released on 2023-06-06 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pop music would be a different beast without the B-Side. Music history is riven with songs deemed throwaway that revolted against their lowly status and refused to be denied. Be it rock'n'roll’s national anthem (‘Rock Around The Clock’), disco’s enduring game-changer (‘I Feel Love’) or hip-hop’s most notorious dis track (‘Hit ’Em Up’), all three started life as the so-called ‘lesser’ track on releases primed for maximum chart impact. But the B-side has done much more than make stars of Bill Haley, Donna Summer and 2Pac. Whether it was the Beatles, the Kinks and the Yardbirds in the 60s, Elton John, the Who and Queen in the 70s, Depeche Mode, the Cure and Prince in the 80s, or Oasis, Pulp and Radiohead in the 90s, the B-side allowed many of the world’s greatest artists freedom to experiment with no commercial constraints in an age where physical product ruled the roost. A quickfire A-Z of 500+ flips, B-SIDE is the first serious examination of the format’s covert role in pushing the musical envelope. Best read with one eye on YouTube and one ear on a streaming service, its revelations will prick up the ears of music fans of all persuasions.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Heartrending Chronicle of Survival Amidst the Armenian Genocide This is the story of one of the thousands of Armenian families living within the Ottoman Empire, condemned to death by the Turkish authorities in 1915. This family chronicle is based on the recollections of survivors and preserved documents. Valerian Markarov's novella powerfully evokes that horrific period with consummate artistry. Gripping in its suspense from start to finish, this soul-stirring story feels like a literary masterpiece. The sheer strength of the writing is striking - it becomes impossible to look away. Precise, vivid descriptions and sumptuous language breathe life into every facet of this world touched by death and terror. Yet amidst the darkness, it remains a story of resilience and hope, one that helps us confront the horrors that occur when evil is permitted to reign unchecked. This beautiful, wrenching chronicle chronicles the struggle for survival of an Armenian family during the genocide in Turkey in 1915. Markarov's poignant storytelling transports the reader into the heart of this tragedy, while also offering a glimmer of light in the face of such profound human suffering. It is a work that demands to be read, reminding us of the high cost of indifference in the face of mass atrocity.

Book Liquid Natural Gas in the United States

Download or read book Liquid Natural Gas in the United States written by John Hrastar and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2014-07-10 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When natural gas was first discovered in Appalachia in the 19th century, its development as a fuel was rapid. Unlike oil and coal, gas could be moved only by pipeline and required large containers for storage. It was not possible to cope with peak loads without adding excessive pipeline capacity until just before World War II, when two sister gas companies developed a plant to liquefy and store natural gas as a liquid; the liquid was then regasified to deal with peak loads. The liquid is 1/600 the volume of the gas, but it requires storage at an extremely low temperature, 1-260°F. This worked well until 1944, when a liquid natural gas (LNG) tank in Cleveland ruptured and caused a fire with 130 fatalities. The fire did not end the industry but caused it to pause. Over the next few years the problems in materials, design, standards, and siting were solved. The recognition that liquefaction made LNG transportable without a pipeline was the breakthrough. In 1959 a shipload of LNG went from Louisiana to Britain and restarted the LNG industry. It is now a major worldwide energy industry and the topic of this work.

Book Sappho s Leap

Book excerpt: The #1 New York Times–bestselling author of Fear of Flying brings the seductive Greek poet to life in this “enormously entertaining” tale (Booklist). As she stands poised at the edge of a precipice in the shadow of the sanctuary of Apollo, the greatest love poet who ever was or ever will be recalls the eventful fifty years that have led her to this moment. It was love that seduced her, at age sixteen, into an ill-fated plot with the poet Alcaeus to depose the despot of the island of Lesbos. It was love that made her trade the unwanted marriage bed of an old, despised, and drunken husband for a seemingly endless series of lovers, both male and female. For Sappho, life has always been a banquet to be savored to the fullest, a strange and sensual odyssey that has carried her to the far corners of the ancient world. Devoted to the goddess Aphrodite and granted the gift of immortal song, she has followed her magnificent destiny from Delphi to Egypt, to the land of the Amazons, the realm of the centaurs, and into the stygian depths of Hades itself, often in the company of her companion and friend, the fabulist slave Aesop. Through every grand affair and every wild adventure, she has remained forever true to her heart, her passion, and herself, right up to this, the end of everything. Combining evocative and realistic detail with unabashedly outrageous invention, Erica Jong’s Sappho’s Leap is a flawless gem of historical fiction boldly imagined by one of America’s most enthralling storytellers. This ebook features an illustrated biography of Erica Jong including rare photos and never-before-seen documents from the author’s personal collection.

Download or read book Space Rocks written by Tom O'Donnell and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2014-02-06 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It all happened because of Feeney's Original Astronaut Ice Cream. Those accursed pink bars entranced me with their sugary magic! Life on Gelo was fine until the fur-headed "humans" arrived. They invaded our asteroid with their loud drill machines and their endless greed, stealing our precious iridium to take back to their weird-looking blue-and-green planet. Then the mothership took off and four little fur-heads were marooned here. Luckily, the "kids" have cool things like hologram games and rocket bikes. And they know how to pilot starships! But there's plenty the junior humans don't know, like how to fight a feral thyss-cat or ride an usk-lizard. They're decidedly terrible at dealing with my stink gland (yes, we Xotonians have a stink gland). And they definitely seem powerless against the Vorem, a terrifying breed of rival alien that nightmares are made of. Thank goodness the Earthlings have me and all five of my eyes to look after them! If only I knew how to help them get back home. . . .

Hank glanced up and saw that all the others were now gathered close by in excited fright, holding candles or standing in their encircling light. He took a deep breath and found that the smoke was already vanishing upon the chill air, making it clean and moist to breathe once again. The grass beneath him was wet and clammy, and he felt it seeping into the knees of his blue jeans as he knelt upon it. He glanced down and saw Mick lying flat on his back, gazing up into the dark sky with eyes that saw nothing but the memory of a blinding flash. Angus was beside him, resting a moment on hands and knees, to catch his trembling breath. "Well, that was something," muttered Hank softly. The story of the Stonewalls continues.
