Book Effective RTI Programs in Grades K 5

Download or read book Effective RTI Programs in Grades K 5 written by Michael Robart Fowle and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Local education agencies have been authorized by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) 2004 to implement Response to Intervention (RTI) models. It was first introduced into the lower elementary grades, kindergarten through second grade beginning in 2003. The goal of this project is to prove the RTI is the most effective intervention program available to our educators and students. It will also research the benefits of moving the RTI program from grades kindergarten through second grade to grades three through five. The research performed to test the effectiveness of RTI will use systematic, empirical methods that draw on observations or experiments. Much of this research was collected through observational methods using experimental or quasi-experimental design. Those involved in the research were individuals associated with the educational settings, entities, and programs, who are all assigned to different conditions. Random assignment experiments were completed through a rigorous, objective, and scientific review. RTI, progress monitoring, behavioral interventions, tiers, integration, and innovations are key terms that will be reviewed.
