This report is not a duplication of the 1970 National Timber Review.1 Rather, it presents highlights of the forest situation in the Rocky Mountain Forest Survey Sec tion (idaho, Montana, western South Dakota, Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah). It describes the resource, the timber supply outlook, and some of the problems associated with increasing the timber output from this region.
