Book Robust Nonlinear Decentralized Control of Robot Manipulators

Download or read book Robust Nonlinear Decentralized Control of Robot Manipulators written by Ronald Jimenez and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new decentralized nonlinear controller for Robot Manipulators is presented in this thesis. Based on concepts of Lyapunov stability theory and some control ideas proposed in [3]-[7], we obtain continuous nonlinear decentralized control laws which guarantee position and velocity tracking to within an arbitrarily small error. Assumptions based on physical constraints of manipulators are made to guarantee the existence of the controller and asymptotic stability of the closed loop system. Simulations show how well this rather simple control scheme works on two of the links of the Puma 560 Manipulator. The main contribution of this thesis is that it extends the results of a class of complex centralized control algorithms to the decentralized robust control of interconnected nonlinear subsystems like robot manipulators.

Book Decentralized Neural Control Application to Robotics

Download or read book Decentralized Neural Control Application to Robotics written by Ramon Garcia-Hernandez and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-02-05 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a decentralized approach for the identification and control of robotics systems. It also presents recent research in decentralized neural control and includes applications to robotics. Decentralized control is free from difficulties due to complexity in design, debugging, data gathering and storage requirements, making it preferable for interconnected systems. Furthermore, as opposed to the centralized approach, it can be implemented with parallel processors. This approach deals with four decentralized control schemes, which are able to identify the robot dynamics. The training of each neural network is performed on-line using an extended Kalman filter (EKF). The first indirect decentralized control scheme applies the discrete-time block control approach, to formulate a nonlinear sliding manifold. The second direct decentralized neural control scheme is based on the backstepping technique, approximated by a high order neural network. The third control scheme applies a decentralized neural inverse optimal control for stabilization. The fourth decentralized neural inverse optimal control is designed for trajectory tracking. This comprehensive work on decentralized control of robot manipulators and mobile robots is intended for professors, students and professionals wanting to understand and apply advanced knowledge in their field of work.

Book Neural Network Control Of Robot Manipulators And Non Linear Systems

Download or read book Neural Network Control Of Robot Manipulators And Non Linear Systems written by F W Lewis and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1998-11-30 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There has been great interest in "universal controllers" that mimic the functions of human processes to learn about the systems they are controlling on-line so that performance improves automatically. Neural network controllers are derived for robot manipulators in a variety of applications including position control, force control, link flexibility stabilization and the management of high-frequency joint and motor dynamics. The first chapter provides a background on neural networks and the second on dynamical systems and control. Chapter three introduces the robot control problem and standard techniques such as torque, adaptive and robust control. Subsequent chapters give design techniques and Stability Proofs For NN Controllers For Robot Arms, Practical Robotic systems with high frequency vibratory modes, force control and a general class of non-linear systems. The last chapters are devoted to discrete- time NN controllers. Throughout the text, worked examples are provided.

Book Non Adaptive and Adaptive Control of Manipulation Robots

Download or read book Non Adaptive and Adaptive Control of Manipulation Robots written by M. Vukobratovic and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-12-11 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The material presented in this monograph is a logical continuation of research results achieved in the control of manipulation robots. This is in a way, a synthesis of many-year research efforts of the associates of Robotics Department, Mihailo Pupin Institute, in the field of dynamic control.of robotic systems. As in Vol. 2 of this Series, all results rely on the mathematical models of dynamics of active spatial mechanisms which offer the possibility for adequate dynamic control of manipula tion robots. Compared with Vol. 2, this monograph has three essential new character istics, and a variety of new tasks arising in the control of robots which have been formulated and solved for the first time. One of these novelties is nonadaptive control synthesized for the case of large variations in payload parameters, under the condition that the practical stability of the overall system is satisfied. Such a case of control synthesis meets the actual today's needs in industrial robot applications. The second characteristic of the monograph is the efficient adaptive control algorithm based on decentralized control structure intended for tasks in which parameter variations cannot be specified in advance. To be objective, this is not the case in industrial robotics today. Thus, nonadaptive control with and without a particular parameter variation is supplemented by adaptive dynamic control algorithms which will cer tainly be applicable in the future industrial practice when parametric identification of workpieces will be required.

Book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences

Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by Wade H. Shafer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 426 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and disseminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS)* at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dis semination phases of the activity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volumes were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 38 (thesis year 1993) a total of 13,787 thesis titles from 22 Canadian and 164 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for these titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this impor tant annual reference work. While Volume 38 reports theses submitted in 1993, on occasion, certain uni versities do report theses submitted in previous years but not reported at the time.
