Ancient Ways shows how to prepare for and conduct the Sabbat rites, and helps you harness the magickal energy for weeks afterward. The wealth of seasonal rituals and charms within are drawn from ancient sources but are easily performed with readily available materials. Learn how to look into your previous lives at Yule. At Beltane, discover the places where you are most likely to see faeries. Make special jewelry to wear for your Lammas celebrations. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Foundation Rites With Some Kindred Ceremonies: A Contribution to the Study of Beliefs, Customs, and Legends Connected With Buildings, Locations, Landmarks, Etc The security of the foundation is the first consider ation to the wise and conscientious builder in modern times. It is not only regarded as a matter of judi cions economy, in the long run, that it should be so, but the builder is likewise held to be morally obligated to make reasonable provisions for the safety and se curity of the structure which he erects. This is one of the recognized ethical laws Of civilized nations. All well governed municipalities make it a penal Oi fense to disregard it. The builder is expected to pos sess a practical knowledge of the elementary principles of scientific construction, and to be guided thereby. NO details must be overlooked that are essential to this purpose. In the belief in his fidelity and trust worthiness rests our confidence in his work and in the safety Of his structure; and the measure Of this con fidence, to a large extent, gauges the commercial value of his services. Book Freemasons Guide and Compendium

Download or read book Freemasons Guide and Compendium written by Bernard E. Jones and published by Cumberland House Publishing. This book was released on 2006 with total page 648 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1950, the FREEMASONS' GUIDE AND COMPENDIUM is filled with authentic, detailed information on a wide variety of subjects related to masons and masonry. Written by an experienced Freemason with the interests of rank-and-file members of the ordinary lodge in mind'especially the young Craftsman who wishes to learn the nature of Freemasonry's claim to have a history that goes back to ancient days'it provides key facts about masonic history, tradition, and lore. In doing so, the book offers a far greater scope of information than any other comparable work. And Bernard E. Jones critically examines conflicting ideas about how some of the traditions came to be, coming to conclusions of his own.The early chapters of FREEMASONS' GUIDE AND COMPENDIUM describe how the masonic guilds arose in eleven-century England after the Norman conquest. From there Jones moves into the emergence of speculative Freemasonry in the late medieval period and explores its amazing growth as an esoteric system during the eighteenth century. The major part of the book consists of a comprehensive, systematic presentation of information about masonry's customs, principles and tenets, words and phrases, lodge appointments and working tools, symbols and emblems. With the help of the guide and compendium, the Craftsman will have no difficulty in making daily progress in masonic knowledge, and the thorough, exhaustive index will help him to access a great store of knowledge. As interest in the subject of Freemasonry continues to grow, as seen in the movie NATIONAL TREASURE and in Dan Brown's forthcoming book, the FREEMASONS' GUIDE AND COMPENDIUM will be a valuable source of information for anyone who wants to research and understand the masons.

Book An Introduction to the Commemorative Masonic Order of St Thomas of Acon

Download or read book An Introduction to the Commemorative Masonic Order of St Thomas of Acon written by David Kibble-Rees and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2008 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thirty-five years ago a Masonic researcher working in the Guildhall in London came across the records of an obscure Military Order formed during the 3rd Crusade, which adopted St. Thomas a Becket as its Patron Saint. Although never large, it eventually became important to the people of London but was one of the casualties and disappeared during the Dissolution of the Monasteries ordered by King Henry VIII. Impressed by its entirely-English character and the laudable reasons for its foundation, he described it to a handful of masonic friends who thought it worth 'reviving' and did so on a limited basis in a private house in Blackheath. In 1998 it was decided to open its membership beyond the limit imposed by their cramped meeting place. This book is an account of what happened after that decision was taken.
