This book was released on 2011-12-19 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every day people awake thinking they can do things their way. Maybe you were on the right path with God, and you turned away. Suddenly things that were once going well now are going downhill. Those who were your so-called friends have turned their backs on you. Why? Because you lost everything when you placed someone or something ahead of God. This includes your family. I encourage people to write. I have found it to be a form of therapy. A way to express myself out loud. This book represents a group of poems from my Spiritual Guidance Collection about my life that I experienced during the good and bad times. Someone might say the poems are a conversation with God, a form of prayer. My hope is that everyone who reads this book will find their way back to God the Creator.

Book excerpt: From #1 New York Times bestselling author Tami Hoag comes this powerful novel of passion, heartbreak, and redemption—a story that celebrates our capacity to love one time, for all time, even in the face of adversity and change. They say that each of us becomes an entirely new person every seven years. But Rebecca Bradshaw doesn’t feel any different when an old lover shows up severely injured at the hospital where she runs the physical therapy department. Seven years ago baseball player Jace Cooper left her without a second thought or the chance to share the life-changing secret she swore she’d keep from him forever. Now he was back, wanting both her help and a second chance. Becca hadn’t changed, and she didn’t believe Jace had either, but as she helped him repair his broken body and his fractured past, she would find she was wrong on both counts. The only thing that had stayed the same was the most important thing of all—and now suddenly time was running out.
Download or read book Straight from the Heart written by Jamgon Mipham and published by Shambhala Publications. This book was released on 2014-04-22 with total page 577 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Straight from the Heart brings together an inspiring collection of Buddhist teachings, songs of realization, meditation instructions, and enlightened poetry—all chosen for their power to speak directly to the student. Drawn from Indian Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism as well as from all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism, some will impress with their beautiful poetry and powerful imagery, others with their profound power of instruction. Still others share personal advice for life that seems to come directly from the mouth of the author, and some serve as immediate and profound practice instructions. Several are just delightfully unconventional, even outrageous, letting in fresh air on petrified views or musty traditions. Most of them are simply unknown precious gems, which deserve a wider audience. Each of the works is preceded by a brief introduction and a short biography of its author. Many of these are legendary accounts of supernatural feats, edifying examples for students on the same spiritual path meant to expand their limited outlook with “mind-blowing” stories. Miraculous deeds, magnificent songs, and pithy instructions distinguish this collection assembled by the Buddhist scholar and translator Karl Brunnhölzl, whose years of work among dharma texts and his skill as a translator yield a rich mine of teachings all chosen for their ability to speak directly to the heart.

Download or read book The Heart of Human Rights written by Allen Buchanan and published by . This book was released on 2013-12 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a moral assessment of the heart of the modern human rights enterprise: the system of international legal human rights. Any attempt to achieve a moral assessment of that enterprise must first evaluate the system of international legal human rights, which includes both legal norms and the institutions that create, interpret, and implement them. When philosophers have addressed the system of international legal human rights at all, they have tended to assume that international legal human rights, when they are morally justified, mirror, or at least help to realize, preexisting moral human rights. But international legal human rights, like many other legal rights, can be justified by appeal to several different types of moral considerations, of which the need to realize preexisting moral individual rights is only one. Justifying the system of international legal human rights requires not only advancing sound arguments for international legal human rights norms, but also an account of the legitimacy of the institutions of the international legal human rights system. It also requires showing that the legal rights in question should be part of a system of international law, rather than merely being included in domestic legal systems. Finally, justification also requires an account of the supremacy of international human rights law: a determination of whether and if so under what conditions, international human rights law should trump domestic law, including the constitutional law of the best existing liberal democratic states --

Download or read book Gentle and Lowly written by Dane C. Ortlund and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2020-03-18 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians know that God loves them, but can easily feel that he is perpetually disappointed and frustrated, maybe even close to giving up on them. As a result, they focus a lot—and rightly so—on what Jesus has done to appease God’s wrath for sin. But how does Jesus Christ actually feel about his people amid all their sins and failures? This book draws us to Matthew 11, where Jesus describes himself as “gentle and lowly in heart,” longing for his people to find rest in him. The gospel flows from God’s deepest heart for his people, a heart of tender love for the sinful and suffering. These chapters take readers into the depths of Christ’s very heart for sinners, diving deep into Bible passages that speak of who Christ is and encouraging readers with the affections of Christ for his people. His longing heart for sinners comforts and sustains readers in their up-and-down lives.

Download or read book Straight from the Heart written by Samantha Clifton and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2017-04-24 with total page 51 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My book is about a young lady (myself) who, in my younger days, was seeking love that I thought would complete me through a relationship with a male figure. When in a relationship, or what I thought was a relationship, I would always put 100 percent of my heart in it while at the same time not receiving the mutual feeling, because I thought I was. The way I would express my feelings would be to either write a poem, buy them things, or to speak from my heart. I didnt know at the time that this kind of love could not fill the void that I had until I was introduced to Jesus Christ and how he truly loves me, and I didnt have to do anything to earn and receive his love. Therefore, my thinking and thought process began to change about the meaning of true love. So I began to write other poems that God had given me.
