Book Ride from Within

Download or read book Ride from Within written by James Shaw and published by Trafalgar Square Books. This book was released on 2021-08-30 with total page 598 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You and your horse can be one with the help of Tai Chi. Have you ever seen a talented dressage rider performing an exquisite test, her seat seemingly melding with her horse’s back, and his movements airy, animated, and effortless? Or, perhaps you have watched a great cutting horse at work, his direction and momentum changing on a dime as he reads his cow, his rider’s body flowing fluidly above him as if they were one. We all dream of experiencing this kind of connection with our horses, and in this groundbreaking new book, James Shaw shows us how the practice of Tai Chi—an ancient Chinese art that unifies the body, mind, and spirit in a series of flowing movements—can help us achieve it. His methods will enable you to: develop a sensitive seat; learn to use your breath as an aid; reduce tension unconsciously held in your hands; lower and expand your center of balance; create free movement in your lower back and spine; heal pain and stiffness in your body; and much more. James’ techniques have worked for hundreds or riders, and with practice, they will work for you. As you gain Tai Chi experience and apply it to you rider, you will find your horsemanship becoming not just more skilled, but more deeply satisfying.

Download or read book Rhythm to the Universe written by Israeli Rothman and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-04-11 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There's a rhythm to the Universe that we don't understand... This is a song about the way our Universe is set up - "Everything on Earth is guided by the rhythms of the Moon; the seasons and Earth's produce, the animals and our cycles, but not man, but not man..." in a storybook style, the lunar-solar calendar /journal, there is a questioning explanation of this cycle that we seem to have forgotten about. I have often wondered why people live in a constant state of hurry, worry and fear. I also used to live like that, but now that I understand how time is really set up, I feel more in tune with the rhythm to the universe than ever before. I hope to bring this to you in a way that makes sense. We have to re-learn it on a conscious level, I believe, to live in tune with both of our luminaries. In a physical way; with our bodies being mostly water we relate to the Moon unconsciously, in a spiritual way, because the emotions are connected to spirit and feeling stemming from the body. Again, the Moon is responsible for this.I have often not felt connected in my own body. I had to go with this gut feeling until I found what I was looking for, to feel comfortable in my own body. It was something I have know since I was eight years old. I never believed that the calendar year began in winter. It doesn't - it does begin in spring! It was a feeling that something was wrong, but I didn't know what was wrong. I believe that some people are naturally more prone to this because they have a 6th sense: artists, visionaries, thinkers, healers and spiritualist, and maybe some who have mental health issues, pushed over the edge by their 6th sense. So here is your calendar, to those of you who need to be in tune with the rhythm of the universe.

Book Cyclist s Manifesto

Download or read book Cyclist s Manifesto written by Robert Hurst and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2009-05-05 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Cyclist’s Manifesto makes the most powerful case to date for a simple fact: America can no longer afford to ignore the bicycle as a tool for serious transportation. Robert Hurst takes off his gloves to lay out the case in favor of the bicycle as today’s superior mode of transport—and to voice a resounding call to action for people to use it. In an engaging narrative that takes us from the past to the present and into the future, the author visits a surprising variety of places and historical moments. Hurst argues that America’s aversion to bicycling for transportation is a unique historical-cultural absurdity based largely on false assumptions and bad information. Humorous but more than a little exasperated, and strikingly nonpartisan, The Cyclist’s Manifesto paints a tantalizing picture of just what the effects of substantially increased bicycle usage might be—the health care savings would be astronomical, for example—and the ways that individuals and governments can go about wresting back control over their energy destiny.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the concepts of cause and effect from two dimensions. The first concerns the macrocosm of the Universe and how each belief system views creation. The second dimension explores the ways in which beliefs about creation influence the microcosmic world in terms of the nature of the self, the proximate goals within each system, the answers each belief system offers to the presence of evil and suffering in existence, and ideas about the ultimate goal of release from them. All these ideas inform and are fundamental to the understanding of the present-day practices of different faiths, presenting challenges for scriptural testimony balanced with existential living. The final two chapters explore current research in physics concerning the beginnings of the cosmos and what implications such research might have for existence within it, with the final chapter examining scientific views of the nature of the self. Contents include: Judaic and Christian Traditions. Islam. Hinduism. Early Buddhism. Sikhism. Classical Taoism. Recycled Stardust. Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Atoms: The Life and Death of the Self.
