Book Ride the Wind Laughing

Download or read book Ride the Wind Laughing written by Kit Cain and published by Christopher Cain. This book was released on 2006-05 with total page 203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ride The Wind Laughing is about building a 51-foot sailboat almost single-handedly in the back yard with virtually no money-at least, it started out that way. It's about the mystical nature of the Laws of Manifestation . about how dreams and distant possibilities come into existence on Planet Earth. Over a period of four and a half years, a series of events unfolded that were far more interesting than the long hours of hard physical labor or the recounting of boring and repetitive tasks essential to any physical construction project. Working with the wonderful people of rural Nova Scotia, its fishing villages and small local businesses proved as interesting as the magical unfolding of events making it impossible to deny that life itself is controlled by some great invisible hand which has a vested interest in seeing Its creations completed and It's dreams fulfilled. At the age of 44, I had come to a second major crossroad in my life. The first occurred when I left behind the world of corporate business at age 35. The next 9 years were years of spiritual and religious training, and the study in detail of as many aspects of esoteric thinking as I intuitively felt led to greater and greater things. I finally came to the point where my questions all ceased. I had sound mental concepts and could talk the talk, but I had not yet walked the walk to the journey's end. Of what value was all this information, knowledge, and perspective I had so diligently obtained if it could not be practically applied? Ride the Wind Laughing is also a story about riding the winds of life with equanimity and contentedness despite the hardships of daily life. It's about perspective . about looking down on life much as would the student pilot on his very first flight. Once the view from above is attained, there's no going back to being land-locked again. Like the wind, this is a story you can feel. May it expand your perspective as it did mine.

Book excerpt: Ride The Wind Laughing is an Illustrated autobiographical story describing the mystical events and experiences which contributed in major ways to my building a 51-foot sailboat in the back yard of my mother's home in rural Nova Scotia- an event which began with no money in an effort to test the Laws of Manifestation and prove to myself the efficacy and practical value of my years of spiritual training. Over a period of four and a half years, the boat, named Wind Rider, went from an imagined image, to a pile of lumber, and finally to a very unusual vessel to both live aboard and sail the oceans of the world. I don't, however, recommend the effort as a way to test the Laws Of Manifestation! It was more like a ladder to a fool's paradise when viewed from below, but when viewed from above, the journey itself was the reward. What any gargantuan effort of creativity does for the mind, heart, and body .. It does far more for the soul.

Book Master of the Welded Bead

Download or read book Master of the Welded Bead written by Kit Cain and published by Christopher Cain. This book was released on 2006-05 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is a short story about a master of the universe (his own universe) who matches the greater freedoms of being a tradesman against the responsibilities and questionable rewards of a business owner or executive. Although he could be equally successful at either end of the spectrum, he chooses the path less traveled and becomes the champion of the less privileged and lesser developed souls in his world. An ex-US Marine pilot, ex-professional gambler, ex-family man, and professional master welder (among other things) Jack Diamond finds himself at opposite poles with his old Marine buddy, Don Hendrix, who owns the ship-building company where he works. Jack is never quite sure whether he's really in charge of all his circumstances or not. Only time and some dimension beyond his comprehension add substance to his experience, wisdom, intelligence and personal power-which never seem equal to the challenges placed before him. If you ever wondered how a well-educated, highly-intelligent soul would choose to move backward down the ladder of so-called success in an entertaining, challenging, and fun-filled manner, Jack Diamond will show you the way.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Denis Johnson's New York Times bestseller, The Laughing Monsters, is a high-suspense tale of kaleidoscoping loyalties in the post-9/11 world that shows one of our great novelists at the top of his game. Roland Nair calls himself Scandinavian but travels on a U.S. passport. After ten years' absence, he returns to Freetown, Sierra Leone, to reunite with his friend Michael Adriko. They once made a lot of money here during the country's civil war, and, curious to see whether good luck will strike twice in the same place, Nair has allowed himself to be drawn back to a region he considers hopeless. Adriko is an African who styles himself a soldier of fortune and who claims to have served, at various times, the Ghanaian army, the Kuwaiti Emiri Guard, and the American Green Berets. He's probably broke now, but he remains, at thirty-six, as stirred by his own doubtful schemes as he was a decade ago. Although Nair believes some kind of money-making plan lies at the back of it all, Adriko's stated reason for inviting his friend to Freetown is for Nair to meet Adriko's fiancée, a grad student from Colorado named Davidia. Together the three set out to visit Adriko's clan in the Uganda-Congo borderland—but each of these travelers is keeping secrets from the others. Their journey through a land abandoned by the future leads Nair, Adriko, and Davidia to meet themselves not in a new light, but rather in a new darkness.

In the wake of her father's death, Johanna finds that lineage counts for little amid the den of intrigue that is the Great Khan's court. Johanna's future – if she has one – lies with her grandfather, in Venice, more than a continent away at the very edge of the known world. So, with a small band of companions, she takes to the Silk Road – that storied collection of routes that link the silks of Cathay, the spices of the Indies and the jewels of the Indus to the markets of the West. But the journey will be long and arduous, for the road ahead is beset by burning sands and ice-fanged mountains, thieves and fanatics, treachery and betrayal.

Book excerpt: From barroom brawls to Main Street shootouts, Ride the Ranger Winds offers non-stop action of true to life Texas Rangers. From Captain Beasley to Laughlin McFarland and all the other Ranger Recruits, their one common denominator was their own personal integrity and straight forward approach to the dangerous life on the frontier. See how the author grasps the savagery of the times in the Ranger's raw dealings with murderers, rapists, cattle rustlers, outlaws and Indians. In an era with little, or no, political influence, the action is sometimes brutal and crude. Intertwined with the perils of the untamed west, romance is incorporated into the daily lives of the characters. Like mythical sailors with a girl in every port, the Rangers had their romantic interludes while on the trail of desperados. Follow Laughlin as he grapples with his life on the trail and his decision whether to marry Melissa and quit the Rangers, or continue his dangerous life on the Range.......Does he find an acceptable compromise?

Book excerpt: The Tears Of Power is a fable for all ages from ten to eternity about a mouse named Victor who lives in Edgeville, a mouse town located at the edge of everything . the river, the fields, the forest, the mountains, and the sky. Victor is entirely unlike his nine brothers and sisters, having an innate courage and belief in himself that compels him to be an inveterate wanderer into areas not at all suited to mouse longevity. His secret forays into the town dump yield treasures too numerous to bring home, thus requiring ingenious extraction and storage solutions of pack-rat proportion . often resulting in life-endangering adventure. Edgeville quickly becomes too small for his restless soul, so he ventures out into the world of the great unknown, learning to repair boats, pilot tugboats, fly helicopters, and be a real friend to those he meets along the way. Victor makes unusual friends like Oddie the Otter and Mo the musical Mole who teach him to be street-wise in the face of a deceitful world. Minkie, his flight instructor, teaches him to overcome fear with thorough training, practice, and constant vigilance. It is Eagle, though, who teaches Victor to think, and introduces him to the inner powers of his soul . finally telling him what the Tears of Power really are. Both versions of the book are masterfully illustrated with 24 illustrations by Scott Peck.

  • Pages : 75 pages

Download or read book An Arrow to the Heart written by Kit Cain and published by Christopher Cain. This book was released on 2006-05-15 with total page 75 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An Arrow To The Heart is decidedly not a standard conventional love story la Cupid's arrow! It's more like discovering too late that one's potential soul mate is equally attracted to a cat-a wildcat, to be precise- in the form of an 18 year-old daughter who is twice as precocious and desirable as her mother. It's a challenge for none other than a master of the universe, and that master is Jack Diamond himself-the Master of the Welded Bead and the lead character in the story which goes by that same name. It is actually a continuation of that story, written originally as a follow-on screenplay, but of such a different character as to demand its own title. The story is unique in that it demonstrates that no matter how advanced, developed, or experienced the soul, the vastness of the Event-Former's intelligence is always tossing a new combination of ingredients into life's cake to make the temptations of Satan seem like child's play next to the cake baked to tempt mastery's extended capabilities. What would you have done wearing the shoes of any of the story's principle characters?

Book Soul and Man

  • Pages : 172 pages

Download or read book Soul and Man written by Kit Cain and published by Christopher Cain. This book was released on 2006-05-15 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Insofar as I am able to discover-and I have purposefully not looked very hard-no one has yet come up with an adequate description or definition of the human soul. After attempting to tackle the task for three years, I can easily understand why. Being a forerunner in unexplored and unknown territory carries with it, at first, a level of uncertainty which runs a high risk of making a fool of any intelligent explorer. Ironically, the quest produces only the fool, for the perspective gained from the attempt alone reveals a previously unseen, unfelt, unknown dimension which dwarfs the mind and intelligence of man. Had I not long since come to know myself as a fool, albeit a wise one, I would never have attempted the Herculean task of making the hidden soul more visible. The frame of reference for the soul established in this book is taken from thinking and experience far broader, deeper, and higher than my own-much of it having existed in secret teachings thousands of years old. They were secret because mankind was not yet ready for them ... and still may not be! This book is not easy reading. It was never intended to be. It took me 30 years to begin to understand what is written herein. This is really my notebook . open architecture for further thought.
