Download or read book Loading Protocols in Implant Dentistry written by Daniel Wismeijer and published by Quintessenz Verlag. This book was released on 2019-09-03 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Implant dentistry has become a standard option for the rehabilitation of fully and partially edentulous patients. With the ever-increasing number of dentists involved in implant dentistry, it is essential to ensure that their treatment methods follow the highest standard. The ITI Treatment Guide series, a compendium of evidence-based implant-therapy techniques in daily practice, is written by renowned clinicians and provides a comprehensive overview of various therapeutic options. Using an illustrated step-by-step approach, the ITI Treatment Guide shows practitioners how to manage different clinical situations, with the emphasis on sound diagnostics, evidence-based treatment concepts, and predictable treatment outcomes. The second volume of the ITI Treatment Guide is devoted to the restoration of partially dentate patients. Central to this volume of the ITI Treatment Guide are loading protocols available to the clinician and the patient and how they relate to various treatment indications, including both single and multiple missing teeth in the posterior and anterior regions of the mouth. Among potential topics for upcoming volumes are implant placement in extraction sockets, loading protocols in edentulous patients, implant therapy in the esthetic zone in extended edentulous spaces, and many more.

Book Full Mouth Rehabilitation Attrited Teeth

Download or read book Full Mouth Rehabilitation Attrited Teeth written by Sukh Sagar and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2018-05-29 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The term "occlusal rehabilitation" has been defined as the restoration of the functional integrity of the dental arches by the use of inlays, crowns, bridges and partial dentures. Occlusal rehabilitation therefore involves restoring the dentate or a partially dentate mouth. The aim is to provide an orderly pattern of occlusal contact and articulation that will optimize oral function, occlusal stability and esthetics. The word rehabilitate implies ' To restore to good condition or to restore to former privilege'. The term 'full mouth rehabilitation' is used to indicate extensive and intensive restorative procedures in which the occlusal plane is modified in many aspects in order to accomplish "equilibration". Full mouth rehabilitation seeks to convert all unfavorable forces on teeth which invariably leads to periodontal conditions, into favorable forces which permit normal function and therefore induce healthy condition. Thus it entails the performance of all the procedures necessary to produce a healthy, esthetic, well functioning and self maintaining masticatory function.

Book excerpt: : Rehabilitation of a patient with severely worn dentition after restoring the vertical dimension is a complex procedure and assessment of the vertical dimension is an important aspect in these cases. The book presents an over view of how to describes the full mouth rehabilitation of a patients who are clinically monitored to evaluate the adaptation to a removable occlusal splint to restore vertical dimension for a period followed by provisional restorations to determine esthetic and functional outcome for a period of 3 months. It is necessary to recognizing that form follows function and that anterior teeth play a vital role in the maintenance of oral health. Confirmation of tolerance to changes in the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) is of paramount importance. Articulated study casts and a diagnostic wax-up can provide important information for the evaluation of treatment options. Alteration of the VDO should be conservative and should not be changed without careful consideration.
