Book Phosphorus Containing Inorganic and Semiorganic Polymers

Download or read book Phosphorus Containing Inorganic and Semiorganic Polymers written by and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The synthesis of new phosphorus-containing polymers expected to have high thermal stability was the object of this research. Accompanying this effort has been a study of model compounds and prototype reactions, to obtain information on bond formation and bond stability. Among phosphorus-containing compounds, those containing the P-C-P linkage have unusual thermal stability. For example, several methylene and phenylene bis diphenylphosphine oxides are stable to 425-450 C (797-842 F). For this reason, the preparation of p-c-p type polYmers by addition and condensation reactions using a variety of monomers under Widely varied conditions was attempted. Fundamental studies of the chemistry of P-C compounds are described. Reorganization studies indicated that the CeHs-P bond is probably stable to at least 400 C. Polymers of the polyamide type with phosphorus in the backbone are described. Some prepared from a bibenzimidazole were stable to 425-450 C. (797-842 F), albeit of low molecular weight. Model compounds containing the phosphorus-imidazole bond showed stabilities as high as 500 C. (932 F).

Book Organophosphorus Monomers and Polymers

Download or read book Organophosphorus Monomers and Polymers written by Ye. L. Gefter and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-09-03 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Organophosphorus Monomers and Polymers is the first attempt at a generalization and systemization of existent knowledge of the methods of synthesis and the basic properties of monomers and polymers of organophosphorus compounds, and also of their fields of application. It contains valuable reference material, collated in tables (physical constants of the monomers, properties of the polymers and copolymers, etc.). The literature used by the author has covered journals, patents and books up to 1958, and in some cases more recent results are included. The monomers and polymers are tabulated according to the particular class of phosphorus-containing compounds to which they belong: acids of phosphorus, their derivatives, phosphines, polymers and co-polymers of unsaturated esters of acids of phosphorus, etc. Groups of monofunctional unsaturated phosphorus-containing compounds (acids, acid chlorides, amides, etc.) are listed in the order of: (a) the distance of the multiple bonds from the phosphorus atom, and (b) the number of multiple bonds. Within each group, the unsaturated substances are listed from simple to complex according to the rules laid down in The Chemist's Handbook. The book is intended for scientists, research workers, engineers, and technologists working on the preparation, manipulation, and investigation of monomers and high molecular weight compounds, and also for students studying related branches of chemistry.

Book Reactivity of P H Group of Phosphorus Based Compounds

Download or read book Reactivity of P H Group of Phosphorus Based Compounds written by Kolio D. Troev and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2017-09-06 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reactivity of P-H Group of Phosphorus Based Compounds bridges the gap between inorganic and organic phosphorus compounds, providing a basis to explore the myriad possibilities for synthesis of novel low and high molecular phosphorus-containing compounds. It covers well-documented reactions in detail, including: tautomerization, oxidation, reduction, alkylation, oxidation coupling, addition reaction to: carbon-carbon multiple bonds, Schiff base, isocyanates, nitriles, epoxides; addition to carbonyl group, Kabachnik- Fields reaction, cross-coupling reaction and more. In an accessible style complete with synthetic routes and figures, the resource then covers the reactivity of multiple P-H group members: phosphines, phosphine oxides, hypophosphorus acid, H-phosphinic acids and polys(alkylene H-phosphonate). This valuable coverage supports the advancement of research and applications in this area for scientists solving a scientific problem or starting a variety of new projects, such as a new reaction for the synthesis of biologically active compounds, new methods of polymer synthesis or a new methodology for polymer modification. Describes the diverse reactivity of the phosphorus-hydrogen group, perhaps the most powerful in organic chemistry Includes practical information for the synthesis of catalysts, biologically active substances, flame retardants, advance materials and polymer materials Offers a visually-accessible guide to important reactions by an internationally recognized chemist

Book Adhesive Restorative Dental Materials

Download or read book Adhesive Restorative Dental Materials written by D. L. Venezky and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new adhesive restorative dental material must meet rigid requirements. These must be kept in mind in screening inorganic polymer systems reported in the literature; but since the available literature data are limited, only three requirements-toxicity, chemical stability, and ease of manipulation-were used in this evaluation. The problem was approached by considering polymers according to the group number of the elements contained in the polymer backbone. The inorganic polymers were in turn grouped into three classes: Class 1, polymers having only one element in the polymer backbone; Class 2, polymers having two different elements in the backbone; and Class 3, polymers having three or more different elements in the backbone. Inorganic polymer systems which appear most promising for use as dental materials are the Class 2 polymers containing linear silicon-oxygen backbones and Class 2 polymers containing boron-phosphorus or phosphorusnitrogen ring systems as moieties in the backbone. Book Porous Polymers

Download or read book Porous Polymers written by Michael S. Silverstein and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-04-19 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gathers the various aspects of the porous polymer field into one volume. It not only presents a fundamental description of the field, but also describes the state of the art for such materials and provides a glimpse into the future. Emphasizing a different aspect of the ongoing research and development in porous polymers, the book is divided into three sections: Synthesis, Characterization, and Applications. The first part of each chapter presents the basic scientific and engineering principles underlying the topic, while the second part presents the state of the art results based on those principles. In this fashion, the book connects and integrates topics from seemingly disparate fields, each of which embodies different aspects inherent in the diverse field of porous polymeric materials.
