Book Report on Elevated temperature Properties of Wrought Medium carbon Alloy Steels

Download or read book Report on Elevated temperature Properties of Wrought Medium carbon Alloy Steels written by Ward F. Simmons and published by . This book was released on 1957 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report is a graphical summary of the elevated-temperature strength data for medium-carbon alloy steels. It includes summary curves for tensile strength; 0.2 per cent offset yield strength; per cent elongation and reduction in area; stresses for rupture in 100, 1000, 10,000, and 100,000 hr; and stresses for creep rates of 0.0001 and 0.00001 per cent per hour (one per cent in 10,000 and 100,000 hr). Data for 27 steels representing approximately a dozen alloy types are given. This report also contains data for a few miscellaneous low-carbon alloy steels.

Book Description and Engineering Characteristics of Eleven New High temperature Alloys

Download or read book Description and Engineering Characteristics of Eleven New High temperature Alloys written by Ward F. Simmons and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Memorandum contains a description and summary of preliminary properties of eleven new alloys that are considered to be promising high-temperature materials. Most of them are in the experimental-application stage of their development; however, a few have reached the point where they can be considered commercial. Included are six nickel-base alloys, two iron-base alloys, one iron-nickel-base alloy, one cobalt base alloy, and one multicomponent alloy that contains primarily nickel and chromium. Following descriptions of composition and microstructure of each alloy, a large section of the memorandum is concerned with physical and mechanical properties, predominantly stress-rupture and creep properties. Oxidation and sulfidation as well as elevated temperature stability of the alloys is discussed. Information on processing and availability of the alloys is also given. (Author).
