Book Oh That You Would Rend the Heavens and Come Down

Download or read book Oh That You Would Rend the Heavens and Come Down written by Abraham Sung-Ho Oh and published by James Clarke & Company. This book was released on 2015-02-26 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Historical-critical scholars have often thought that writing a coherent theology of Isaiah 56-66 is impossible because it contains such historically and ideologically diverse materials. A canonical approach to the chapters is, however, open to considering Third Isaiah as a complex but coherent theological unity. Leaning on this approach, Abraham Oh constructs a theology of Isaiah 56-66. Arguing that the theology of Third Isaiah has eschatology (both prophetic and apocalyptic) at its core, he identifies four major themes and explores their significance through four key texts (56:1-8; 59:15b-21; 60:1-22; 65:13-25). The covenant concept (56:1-8) forms a framework for the eschatology in these chapters. People are invited to walk in the covenant, which is worked out as eschatological salvation. The coming of YHWH as the Divine Warrior initiates the eschatological era (59:15b-21) and, bringing judgment, restores the covenant. As the Temple-city-paradise (60:1-22) into which the nations flow, the glorified Zion is the eschatological fulfilment of the covenant, Zion, and Servant traditions. The New Heavens and Earth (65:13-25) is a return to the primordial paradise, where the natural world is restored, as the problem of sin is resolved.

This book was released on 2017-08-11 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is on Spiritual Warfare and teaches on the dynamics of praying. The problems many are facing today are directly not their cause; nor their own doing. For some, it may be because of an evil inheritance which can be in form of generational or genetic problems. The Bible says that the sin of the father will be visited on his children to the fourth generation and sometimes to the tenth generation. In Deuteronomy 28:15-68, curses were also pronounced by God ranging from sickness to poverty and captivity; upon people because of disobedience to God's commandment. That is why you must pray. You must pray to free your body, spirit and soul from every evil grip of the devil. Clear every impediment obstructing your living out your full purpose and enjoying the very best God has for you here. 100 Days of Heaven on Earth will fire you up, get you angry at the devil and provoke a roar from within you to reclaim what the enemy has stolen from you. This is a powerful artillery fabricated from heaven's armory. The Lord will visit you and there will be a marked turn around in your situation as you pray through.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the late 1400s in eastern England, a scribe was in the process of compiling a large dramatic manuscript of over two hundred vellum folios. The manuscript contains components of an independent Mary Play, parts one and two of an independent Passion Play and an independent Assumption of Mary Play, as well as ten play subjects that appear in no other English cycles - the killing of Lamech in the Noah Play, the Root of Jesse, the story of Joachim and Anne, the Presentation of Mary in the Temple, the Parliament of Heaven, the Trial of Mary and Joseph, the scene of Mary and the cherry tree in the Nativity Play, the Death of Herod, the scene of Veronica's handkerchief in the Procession to Calvary, and the appearance of the risen Christ to the Virgin Mary in her Assumption Play. This edition acknowledges the N-Town compiler who took plays from various contexts and integrated them into an existing cycle of plays, thus treating the manuscript as if it were a superstructure whose parts could be replaced, renovated, and supplemented without altering the fundamental coherence of the overarching design.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Mission is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exist because worship doesn't. Worship is ultimate.' John Piper's contemporary classic draws on key biblical texts to demonstrate that worship is the ultimate goal of the church and that proper worship fuels missionary outreach. Piper offers a biblical defence of God's supremacy in all things, providing a sound theological foundation for missions. He examines whether Jesus is the only way to salvation and issues a passionate plea for God-centredness in the missionary enterprise, seeking to define the scope of the task and the means for reaching 'all nations'. Let the Nations Be Glad! is a trusted resource for missionaries, pastors, church leaders, youth workers, seminary students, and all who want to connect their labours to God's global purposes. This third edition has been revised and expanded throughout and includes new material on the 'prosperity gospel'.

Book New Apostolic Reformation

Download or read book New Apostolic Reformation written by R. Douglas Geivett and published by Lexham Press. This book was released on 2018-07-25 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This critique provides a framework for understanding and interpreting the widespread but little-known New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movement. As the authors state in the preface: "We write this book with two major goals in mind. First, to give people an idea of the sheer size and reach of the NAR movement. And second, to systematize its key teachings and practices and evaluate them on the basis of Scripture and careful reasoning . . In our judgment, the NAR perspective crosses these boundaries [that is, certain broad parameters, revealed in Scripture and practiced in the historical orthodox church], and it does so in part because of flawed theology rooted in a flawed understanding of Scripture. We wish to warn readers about a possible confusion: Some critics have linked the NAR movement with mainstream Pentecostalism and charismatics. We do not do this. In fact, it is our contention that the NAR movement deviates from classical Pentecostal and charismatic teachings. This movement has emerged out of independent charismatic churches and, thus, has gained a foothold in many of those churches in varying degrees."

All the signs of history and culture point to the certainty of God bringing about revival to his people, one by one—and soon! Satan knows that to resist broad-scope revival, the spiritual battlefront is ironically very personal. You must understand your vital part in the immanent battle and equip yourself enthusiastically to answer the call. The corporate body of Christ's war is very personal battle—it is in a real sense, an "army of one"!
