Book Seismic Design and Qualification for Nuclear Power Plants

Download or read book Seismic Design and Qualification for Nuclear Power Plants written by International Atomic Energy Agency and published by IAEA. This book was released on 2003 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Safety Guide provides recommendations on a generally accepted way to design a nuclear power plant so that an earthquake motion at the site will not jeopardize the safety of the plant. It also gives guidance on a consistent application of methods and procedures for analysis, testing and qualification of structures and equipment so that they meet the safety requirements covering the design of nuclear power plants, safety assessments for the design and the regulatory issues concerned with the licensing of plants.

Book Evaluation of Seismic Hazards for Nuclear Power Plants

Download or read book Evaluation of Seismic Hazards for Nuclear Power Plants written by and published by IAEA. This book was released on 2002 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Safety Guide provides guidelines and recommends procedures for the evaluation of seismic hazards for nuclear power plants. Specifically, it provides recommendations on how to determine the ground motion hazards for a plant at a particular site and the potential for surface faulting, which could affect the feasibility of construction and safe operation of a plant at that site. The Guide supersedes IAEA Safety Series No. 50-SG-S1 (Rev.l), Earthquakes and Associated Topics in Relation to Nuclear Power plant Siting that was issued in 1991.

Book Seismic Hazard Assessment in Site Evaluation for Nuclear Installations

Download or read book Seismic Hazard Assessment in Site Evaluation for Nuclear Installations written by International Atomic Energy Agency and published by IAEA Tecdoc Series No. 1796. This book was released on 2016 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Provides the state-of-the-art practice and detailed technical elements related to ground motion evaluation by ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs) and site response in the context of seismic hazard assessments as recommended in IAEA Safety Standards Series No. SSG-9, Seismic Hazards in Site Evaluation for Nuclear Installations.

Book Ground Motion Simulation Based on Fault Rupture Modelling for Seismic Hazard Assessment in Site Evaluation for Nuclear Installations

Download or read book Ground Motion Simulation Based on Fault Rupture Modelling for Seismic Hazard Assessment in Site Evaluation for Nuclear Installations written by International Atomic Energy Agency and published by Safety Report. This book was released on 2015 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explaining the principles that underlie strong ground motion simulation, this publication describes various methods for simulating strong ground motions, and presents some examples of strong ground motion simulations using fault rupture modelling. The detailed guidelines and practical tools presented in this Safety Report will be of value to researchers, operating organizations, regulatory bodies, vendors and technical support organizations in the areas of seismic hazard evaluation of nuclear installations. The information provided will also be of great importance for seismic hazard assessments following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident.

Book Seismic Hazard Assessment in Site Evaluation for Nuclear Installations

Download or read book Seismic Hazard Assessment in Site Evaluation for Nuclear Installations written by and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 119 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The objective of this publication is to provide the state-of-the-art practice and detailed technical elements related to ground motion evaluation by ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs) and site response in the context of seismic hazard assessments as recommended in IAEA Safety Standards Series No. SSG-9, Seismic Hazards in Site Evaluation for Nuclear Installations. The publication includes the basics of GMPEs, ground motion simulation, selection and adjustment of GMPEs, site characterization, and modelling of site response in order to improve seismic hazard assessment. The text aims at delineating the most important aspects of these topics (including current practices, criticalities and open problems) within a coherent framework. In particular, attention has been devoted to filling conceptual gaps. It is written as a reference text for trained users who are responsible for planning preparatory seismic hazard analyses for siting of all nuclear installations and/or providing constraints for anti-seismic design and retrofitting of existing structures."--Publisher's description.

Book Seismic Risk Analysis of Nuclear Power Plants

Download or read book Seismic Risk Analysis of Nuclear Power Plants written by Wei-Chau Xie and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2019-04-18 with total page 631 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seismic Risk Analysis of Nuclear Power Plants addresses the needs of graduate students in engineering, practicing engineers in industry, and regulators in government agencies, presenting the entire process of seismic risk analysis in a clear, logical, and concise manner. It offers a systematic and comprehensive introduction to seismic risk analysis of critical engineering structures focusing on nuclear power plants, with a balance between theory and applications, and includes the latest advances in research. It is suitable as a graduate-level textbook, for self-study, or as a reference book. Various aspects of seismic risk analysis - from seismic hazard, demand, and fragility analyses to seismic risk quantification, are discussed, with detailed step-by-step analysis of specific engineering examples. It presents a wide range of topics essential for understanding and performing seismic risk analysis, including engineering seismology, probability theory and random processes, digital signal processing, structural dynamics, random vibration, and engineering risk and reliability.

Book Seismic Safety Margins Research Program Phase I Project II

Download or read book Seismic Safety Margins Research Program Phase I Project II written by and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A catalog has been prepared which contains information for: (1) world-wide, ground-motion accelerograms, (2) the accelerograph sites where these records were obtained, and (3) the seismological parameters of the causative earthquakes. The catalog is limited to data for those accelerograms which have been digitized and published. In addition, the quality and completeness of these data are assessed. This catalog is unique because it is the only publication which contains comprehensive information on the recording conditions of all known digitized accelerograms. However, information for many accelerograms is missing. Although some literature may have been overlooked, most of the missing data has not been published. Nevertheless, the catalog provides a convenient reference and useful tool for earthquake engineering research and applications.
