Book excerpt: This Record of Decision (ROD) and Approved Resource Management Plan (Approved RMP) were prepared by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Colorado River Valley Field Office (CRVFO) in Silt, Colorado. These documents are the culmination of a multi-year planning effort to revise the 1984 Glenwood Springs Resource Area RMP, as amended. BLM prepared these documents in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended (NEPA), the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976, as amended (FLPMA), implementing regulations, the BLM's Land Use Planning Handbook (H-1601-1), and other applicable law and policy. The management of BLM lands and Federal mineral estate administered by BLM within the CRVFO boundaries (from this point forward referred to as the CRVFO) is the subject of this document. This ROD documents the approval of the attached Colorado River Valley RMP, which provides overall direction for management of all resources on BLM lands and Federal mineral estate within the CRVFO except the Roan Plateau portion of the CRVFO.
