Book RECONSTRUCTION DE COURBES ET DE SURFACES 3D EN STEREO ACQUISITION

Download or read book RECONSTRUCTION DE COURBES ET DE SURFACES 3D EN STEREO ACQUISITION written by DAVID.. ROUSSEL and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CETTE THESE S'INTERESSE A LA RECONSTRUCTION DES SURFACES D'OBJETS NON POLYEDRIQUES. DANS LE CONTEXTE D'UNE STEREO-ACQUISITION, NOUS FAISONS L'HYPOTHESE QUE LES CONTOURS APPARIES AU SEIN D'UNE PAIRE D'IMAGES DECRIVENT LES COURBES DE L'ESPACE LE LONG DESQUELLES LES SURFACES DES OBJETS POSSEDENT DES PLANS TANGENTS DISCONTINUS. IDEALEMENT, CES CONTOURS FORMENT DES CYCLES ET CHAQUE CYCLE ENFERME UNE REGION DE PIXELS QUI CORRESPOND DANS L'ESPACE A L'UNE DES SURFACES A RECONSTRUIRE. UNE TELLE SURFACE EST ELLE-MEME EN APPUI SUR UNE COURBE FERMEE DONT LA PROJECTION N'EST AUTRE QU'UN DES CYCLES DE CONTOURS. DANS CE CADRE, NOUS EXPOSONS PLUSIEURS PRINCIPES GEOMETRIQUES QUI PERMETTENT DE DETERMINER, PAR RAFFINEMENTS SUCCESSIFS, LA FORME DES SURFACES A L'INTERIEUR DE CHAQUE COURBE FERMEE PREALABLEMENT RECONSTRUITE. CES PRINCIPES PERMETTENT EN PARTICULIER DE COMBINER LA PHOTOMETRIE DES IMAGES AVEC LE MODELE D'ECLAIREMENT DIFFUS. LA TECHNIQUE DE RECONSTRUCTION SUR LAQUELLE NOUS AVONS TRAVAILLE CONSISTE A DEFINIR UNE SURFACE PARAMETRIQUE EN APPUI SUR UNE COURBE FERMEE GRACE A LA DEFINITION DES CONDITIONS AUX LIMITES DE CETTE SURFACE LE LONG DE LA COURBE SUR LAQUELLE ELLE S'APPUIE. NOTRE APPROCHE CONSISTE DONC A CONSTRUIRE DES ENSEMBLES DE COURBES FERMEES DANS L'ESPACE A PARTIR DE LA RECONSTRUCTION DES CONTOURS OBSERVES DANS LA PAIRE D'IMAGE. PUIS, D'UTILISER LA PHOTOMETRIE DES OBJETS DE LA SCENE POUR DETERMINER L'ORIENTATION DES SURFACES EN APPUI SUR LES COURBES FERMEES. APRES AVOIR CONSTRUIT UNE PREMIERE HYPOTHESE DE SURFACE A PARTIR DE CES CONDITIONS AUX LIMITES, CELLE-CI EST ENSUITE RAFFINEE PAR UNE NOUVELLE UTILISATION DU MODELE PHOTOMETRIQUE DE MANIERE A PRENDRE EN COMPTE LES OSCILLATIONS DE LA SURFACE EN DEHORS DU VOISINAGE IMMEDIAT DES COURBES FERMEES. LE MODELE GEOMETRIQUE ADOPTE, TANT DU POINT DE VUE DES CONCEPTS TOPOLOGIQUES QUE DE CELUI DU FORMALISME DE SURFACES LIBRES, AINSI QUE L'USAGE DE MODELES D'ECLAIREMENT SIMPLE ONT APPORTE A CETTE ETUDE UNE STRUCTURE POUR LES TRAITEMENTS RELATIFS A L'ANALYSE D'IMAGE NECESSAIRES A LA RECONSTRUCTION D'OBJETS. AINSI, LE PRINCIPE DE CETTE RECONSTRUCTION EST DE PROCEDER PAR DES ANALYSES LOCALES TANT AU NIVEAU DE L'UTILISATION DES CONTOURS QUE DE L'ANALYSE PHOTOMETRIQUE, CE QUI EVITE LES TRAITEMENTS GLOBAUX TELS QUE LA CORRELATION (POUR LA STEREO) OU LE SHAPE FROM SHADING (POUR L'ANALYSE PHOTOMETRIQUE).

  • Pages : 719 pages

Download or read book Stereotomy written by José Calvo-López and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-08-08 with total page 719 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with the general concepts in stereotomy and its connection with descriptive geometry, the social background of its practitioners and theoreticians, the general methods and tools of this technology, and the specific procedures for the members built in hewn stone, including arches, squinches, stairs and vaults, ending with a chapter discussing the open problems in this field. Thus, it can be used as a reference book in the subject, but it can also read as a compelling narrative on this subject, one of the main branches of pre-industrial technology. Construction in hewn stone requires the use of geometrical methods and tools to assure that individual stones, either blocks or voussoirs, fit with one another and conform to the general shape of walls, arches or vaults. During the Late Middle Ages and the Renaissance, such techniques and instruments were developed empirically by masons and architects. Later on, learned mathematicians and engineers introduced refinements in these procedures and this branch of knowledge, known as stereotomy, furnished much material to descriptive geometry, a science born with the French Revolution which provided the foundation for projective geometry.

Book Fields Medallists Lectures

Download or read book Fields Medallists Lectures written by Michael Atiyah and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1997-10-13 with total page 644 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although the Fields Medal does not have the same public recognition as the Nobel Prizes, they share a similar intellectual standing. It is restricted to one field - that of mathematics - and an age limit of 40 has become an accepted tradition. Mathematics has in the main been interpreted as pure mathematics, and this is not so unreasonable since major contributions in some applied areas can be (and have been) recognized with Nobel Prizes. The restriction to 40 years is of marginal significance, since most mathematicians have made their mark long before this age.A list of Fields Medallists and their contributions provides a bird's eye view of mathematics over the past 60 years. It highlights the areas in which, at various times, greatest progress has been made. This volume does not pretend to be comprehensive, nor is it a historical document. On the other hand, it presents contributions from 22 Fields Medallists and so provides a highly interesting and varied picture. The contributions themselves represent the choice of the individual Medallists. In some cases the articles relate directly to the work for which the Fields Medals were awarded. In other cases new articles have been produced which relate to more current interests of the Medallists. This indicates that while Fields Medallists must be under 40 at the time of the award, their mathematical development goes well past this age. In fact the age limit of 40 was chosen so that young mathematicians would be encouraged in their future work. The Fields Medallists' Lectures is now available on CD-ROM. Sections can be accessed at the touch of a button, and similar topics grouped together using advanced keyword searches.

Book excerpt: This book contains the written contributions to the program of the First In ternational Conference on Computer Vision, Virtual Reality, and Robotics in Medicine (CVRMed'95) held in Nice during the period April 3-6, 1995. The articles are regrouped into a number of thematic sessions which cover the three major topics of the field: medical image understanding, registration problems in medicine, and therapy planning, simulation and control. The objective of the conference is not only to present the most innovative and promising research work but also to highlight research trends and to foster dialogues and debates among participants. This event was decided after a preliminary successful symposium organized in Stanford in March 1994 by E. Grimson (MIT), T. Kanade (CMU), R. Kikinis and W. Wells (Chair) (both at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital), and myself (INRIA). We received 92 submitted full papers, and each one was evaluated by at least three members of the Program Committee, with the help of auxiliary reviewers. Based on these evaluations, a representative subset of the Program Committee met to select 19 long papers, 29 regular papers, and 27 posters. The geographical repartition of the contributions is the following: 24 from European countries (other than France), 23 contributions from France, 20 from Northern America (USA and Canada), and 8 from Asia (Japan and Singapore).
