Download or read book Real time Spectral Synthesis in Fourier Spectroscopy written by Joseph E. Hoffman and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A real-time technique to synthesize the spectral distribution from the corresponding interferogram is described. A portable real-time synthesizer has been constructed and test results are presented. Functions with known spectra and an actual interferogram have been used for purposes of evaluation.
Download or read book A System to Perform Real time Fourier Spectroscopy written by Joseph E. Hoffman (Jr.) and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A real-time system to perform Fourier spectroscopy is described. The spectral distribution is synthesized by the successive summation of cosine functions with amplitudes and frequencies which are determined by the sample points of the interferogram. Summation of these cosine functions is performed in a digital memory oscilloscope which has 1024 addresses. The design criteria and the principles of operation of the system are discussed in detail. Sources of error are examined and several methods of error reduction are discussed. The limitations of this type of system are described and improvements are recommended. Experimental data are presented and the performance of the real-time system is compared to that of a special purpose analog computer, and a digital computer. (Author).
Download or read book Spectral Audio Signal Processing written by Julius Orion Smith and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 654 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Spectral Audio Signal Processing is the fourth book in the music signal processing series by Julius O. Smith. One can say that human hearing occurs in terms of spectral models. As a result, spectral models are especially useful in audio applications. For example, with the right spectral model, one can discard most of the information contained in a sound waveform without changing how it sounds. This is the basis of modern audio compression techniques."--Publisher's description.
Download or read book Introductory Fourier Transform Spectroscopy written by Robert Bell and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introductory Fourier Transform Spectroscopy discusses the subject of Fourier transform spectroscopy from a level that requires knowledge of only introductory optics and mathematics. The subject is approached through optical principles, not through abstract mathematics. The book approaches the subject matter in two ways. The first is through simple optics and physical intuition, and the second is through Fourier analysis and the concepts of convolution and autocorrelation. This dual treatment bridges the gap between the introductory material in the book and the advanced material in the journals. The book also discusses information theory, Fourier analysis, and mathematical theorems to complete derivations or to give alternate views of an individual subject. The text presents the development of optical theory and equations to the extent required by the advanced student or researcher. The book is intended as a guide for students taking advanced research programs in spectroscopy. Material is included for the physicists, chemists, astronomers, and others who are interested in spectroscopy.

Book excerpt: Compiled by an international array of musical and technical specialists, this book deals with some of the most important topics in modern musical signal processing. Beginning with basic concepts, and leading to advanced applications, it covers such essential areas as sound synthesis (including detailed studies of physical modelling and granular synthesis) ,control signal synthesis, sound transformation (including convolution), analysis/resynthesis (phase vocodor, wavelets, analysis by chaotic functions), object-oriented and artificial intelligence representations, musical interfaces and the integration of signal processing techniques in concert performance.
