This book was released on 2016-06-27 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Rays of Positive Electricity, and Their Application to Chemical Analyses I have endeavoured in this book to give some account of the experiments on Positive Rays which have been made at the Cavendish Laboratory during the last seven years, and which have been the subject Of papers scattered through the Philosophical Magazine, the Proceedings of the Royal Society, and the Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society. I have, in addition, included a short account of the researches of Stark and Others on the Doppler effect in Positive Rays and of Gehrcke and Reichenheim's experiments on Anode Rays, as these, those on the doppler effect especially, are very closely connected with the results obtained by the very different methods described in the earlier part Of this book. I have described at some length the application of Positive Rays to chemical analysis; one of the main reasons for writing this book was the hope that it might induce Others, and especially chemists, to try this method of analysis. I feel sure that there are many problems in Chemistry which could be solved with far greater ease by this than by any other method. The method is surprisingly sensitive more so even than that Of Spectrum Analysis, requires an infinitesimal amount of material, and does not require. Download or read book An Attempt to Restore Classical Physics written by Dr. Paul E. Rowe and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2010-04-27 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based the author's eperiments and extensive searchers in the scientific literature, ,he concludes that vacuum is not a void , but rather a concentrated matrix of protons and unpaired electrons, possibly Bose-Einstein Condensed (BEC) hydrogen. It may be the aether of classical physics and /or the dark matter, for which Astronomers are searching. The book attempts to explain many observed phenomena, on this basis, including: Magnetism Gravity Light Stellar Aberration and Einstein's Twin Paradox

Book excerpt: Excerpt from On the Spectroscopic Examination of Positive Rays Isolated by Transmission Through Thin Partitions Hie canal rays were discovered by Goldstein in 1886, and T through the researches of W. Wien in 1898, and later of Sir I. J. Thomson, their identity with the positive ions was definitely established. They have been' frequently employed since as a source of positive ions for investigation of the properties of positive electricity. Book Unravelling the Mystery of the Atomic Nucleus

Download or read book Unravelling the Mystery of the Atomic Nucleus written by Bernard Fernandez and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-09-28 with total page 541 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unravelling the Mystery of the Atomic Nucleus is a history of atomic and nuclear physics. It begins in 1896 with the discovery of radioactivity, which leads to the discovery of the nucleus at the center of the atom. It follows the experimental discoveries and the theoretical developments up to the end of the Fifties. Unlike previous books regarding on history of nuclear physics, this book methodically describes how advances in technology enabled physicists to probe the physical properties of nuclei as well as how the physical laws which govern these microscopic systems were progressively discovered. The reader will gain a clear understanding of how theory is inextricably intertwined with the progress of technology. Unravelling the Mystery of the Atomic Nucleus will be of interest to physicists and to historians of physics, as well as those interested development of science.
