He can be credited with being one of the first Pentecostal healing evangelists leaving a significant legacy for those who followed in his path, such as William Branham, Jack Coe, Oral Roberts, and Kathryn Kuhlman. He served as an important transitional figure from the Azusa Street revival to the post World War II healing revivals (1947 to 1958). When a youngster, an accidental injury to his eyes led to near blindness, but a miracle healing in 1911 fully restored his vision. He was also healed of TB. This shaped much of his remaining life and ministry. Richey spread his dual message of salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ and physical healing in the atonement through relentless evangelistic crusades, publications, and radio broadcasts, financed through free-will offerings until the Great Depression curtailed his activities. He led soldiers to Christ during WWII as he campaigned with a large red, white, and blue tent. David Harrell (1975), the leading scholar of the post World War II healing revivals, draws a clear connection to Richey noting that he was one of the few revivalists in the early period who also had a major ministry in the post World War II revivals. Revivalists such as Richey helped bring Pentecostal theology and practice into mainstream Protestantism.

He played a leading role in the expansion of Pentecostalism in America. Raymond T. Richey stands in the front rank of healing evangelists alongside F. F. Bosworth, Aimee McPherson, John G. Lake, Oral Roberts, Jack Coe, and William Branham among others. J. David Foxworth has studied the subject of revival for over forty years. He has visited many historic revival sites in the United States, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales for the purpose of research and prayer. He founded Lighthouse Christian Church in Montpelier, Vermont and served as senior pastor for fifteen years. In 2011 he earned a Ph.D. in Renewal Studies from Regent University. He served as Department Head of Biblical Studies for Charlotte Christian College and Theological Seminary in Charlotte, N.C. He is the author of Fire In The Great Mountains: A History of Evangelical Revival in Vermont in the Nineteenth Century (2021). He is married to Patricia (Patty) Foxworth for 32 years. They currently reside in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Raymond T. Richey: The Full Life of a Pioneer Healing Evangelist is his second published work.

Seymour (1870–1922) preached Pentecostal revival at the Azusa Street mission in Los Angeles. From these and other humble origins the movement has blossomed to 631 million people around the world. Gastón Espinosa provides new insight into the life and ministry of Seymour, the Azusa Street revival, and Seymour's influence on global Pentecostal origins. After defining key terms and concepts, he surveys the changing interpretations of Seymour over the past 100 years, critically engages them in a biography, and then provides an unparalleled collection of primary sources, all in a single volume. In Los Angeles she quickly became a folk hero and civic institution. Hollywood discovered her when she brilliantly united the sacred with the profane. Anthony Quinn would play in the Temple band and Aimee would baptize Marilyn Monroe, council Jean Harlow and become friends with Charlie Chaplain, Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford. Based on the biographer's first time access to internal church documents and cooperation of Aimee's family and friends, this major biography offers a sympathetic appraisal of her rise to fame, revivals in major cities and influence on American religion and culture in the Jazz Age. The biographer takes the reader behind the scenes of Aimee's fame to the early days of her harsh apprenticeship in revival tents, failed marriages and poverty. Barfoot recreates the career of this "called" and driven woman through oral history, church documents and by a creative use of new source material. This is a study of a disturbing phenomenon in American society—the Ku Klux Klan—and that eruption of nativism, racism, and moral authoritarianism during the 1920s in the four states of the Southwest—Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas—in which the Klan became especially powerful. The hooded order is viewed here as a move by frustrated Americans, through anonymous acts of terror and violence, and later through politics), to halt a changing social order and restore familiar orthodox traditions of morality. Entering the Southwest during the post-World War I period of discontent and disillusion, the Klan spread rapidly over the region and by 1922 its tens of thousands of members had made it a potent force in politics. Charles C. Alexander finds that the Klan in the Southwest, however, functioned more as vigilantes in meting extra-legal punishment to those it deemed moral offenders than as advocates of race and religious prejudice. But the vigilante hysteria vanished almost as suddenly as it had appeared; opposition to its terrorist excesses and its secret politics led to its decline after 1924, when the Klan failed abysmally in most of its political efforts. Especially significant here are the analysis of attitudes which led to this revival of the Klan and the close examination of its internal machinations. “The Ku Klux Klan is not a single phenomenon. It is three different organizations, which sprang up three different times, for three different reasons.
