Dans le contexte d'une recherche d'une durée de trois ans, des ateliers d'art impliquant une activation corporelle, un engagement de l'imaginaire, une stimulation cognitive et des interactions sociales ont été organisés en partenariat avec des milieux communautaires et de soins. La recherche est devenue un véritable projet collaboratif entre des artistes pédagogues de ces quatre disciplines, des médecins spécialisés en psychiatrie urbaine et médecine des toxicomanies, des partenaires communautaires des milieux de l'itinérance et de la toxicomanie et des professeures-chercheures en art. L'ouvrage pose un regard inédit sur les approches artistiques et pédagogiques déployées par des artistes pédagogues en complémentarité avec les approches psychosociales et médicales. Conjuguant savoirs pratiques et théoriques, il offre une vision singulière du rôle que l'art peut jouer en soutien au rétablissement de personnes désaffiliées socialement et en rupture de sens. Adoptant une perspective multidisciplinaire et intersectorielle sur la contribution de l'art au rétablissement et à l'inclusion sociale de personnes marginalisées, l'ouvrage s'adresse à un public large provenant du domaine des arts, de la médiation culturelle, des sciences humaines et de la santé, intéressé par une réflexion unique sur la complémentarité entre l'art, le rétablissement et la communauté.

This was due in part to the stylistic development and diversity of African-American music and dance, from the prewar cakewalk and ragtime to the postwar Charleston and jazz. Successive groups of modernists, beginning with the Matisse and Picasso circle in the 1900s and concluding with the Surrealists and Purists in the 1920s, constructed different versions of la musique and la danse negre. Manifested in creative and critical works, these responses to African-American music and dance reflected the modernists' varying artistic agendas and historical climates.

Sylvia Washington Bâ analyzes Senghor's poetry to show how the concept of negritude infuses it at every level. A biographical sketch describes his childhood in Senegal, his distinguished academic career in France, and his election as President of Senegal. Book excerpt: The three concepts mentioned in the title of this volume imply the contact between two or more literary phenomena; they are based on similarities that are related to a form of ‘travelling’ and imitation or adaptation of entire texts, genres, forms or contents. Transfer comprises all sorts of ‘travelling’, with translation as a major instrument of transferring literature across linguistic and cultural barriers. Transfer aims at the process of communication, starting with the source product and its cultural context and then highlighting the mediation by certain agents and institutions to end up with inclusion in the target culture. Reception lays its focus on the receiving culture, especially on critcism, reading, and interpretation. Translation, therefore, forms a major factor in reception with the general aim of reception studies being to reveal the wide spectrum of interpretations each text offers. Moreover, translations are the prime instrument in the distribution of literature across linguistic and cultural borders; thus, they pave the way for gaining prestige in the world of literature. The thirty-eight papers included in this volume and dedicated to research in this area were previously read at the ICLA conference 2016 in Vienna. They are ample proof that the field remains at the center of interest in Comparative Literature.
