Book Digital Color Imaging Handbook

Download or read book Digital Color Imaging Handbook written by Gaurav Sharma and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-12-19 with total page 816 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Digital technology now enables unparalleled functionality and flexibility in the capture, processing, exchange, and output of color images. But harnessing its potential requires knowledge of color science, systems, processing algorithms, and device characteristics-topics drawn from a broad range of disciplines. One can acquire the requisite background with an armload of physics, chemistry, engineering, computer science, and mathematics books and journals- or one can find it here, in the Digital Color Imaging Handbook. Unprecedented in scope, this handbook presents, in a single concise and authoritative publication, the elements of these diverse areas relevant to digital color imaging. The first three chapters cover the basics of color vision, perception, and physics that underpin digital color imaging. The remainder of the text presents the technology of color imaging with chapters on color management, device color characterization, digital halftoning, image compression, color quantization, gamut mapping, computationally efficient transform algorithms, and color image processing for digital cameras. Each chapter is written by world-class experts and largely self-contained, but cross references between chapters reflect the topics' important interrelations. Supplemental materials are available for download from the CRC Web site, including electronic versions of some of the images presented in the book.

Book Image Processing for Computer Graphics

Download or read book Image Processing for Computer Graphics written by Jonas Gomes and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The focus of this book is on providing a thorough treatment of image processing with an emphasis on those aspects most used in computer graphics. Throughout, the authors concentrate on describing and analysing the underlying concepts rather than on presenting algorithms or pseudocode. As befits a modern introduction to this topic, a healthy balance is struck between discussing the underlying mathematics of the subject and the main topics covered: signal processing, data discretization, the theory of colour and different colour systems, operations in images, dithering and half-toning, warping and morphing, and image processing.

Book The Theory of the Moir Phenomenon

Download or read book The Theory of the Moir Phenomenon written by Isaac Amidror and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-03-15 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the first edition of this book was published several new developments have been made in the field of the moiré theory. The most important of these concern new results that have recently been obtained on moiré effects between correlated aperiodic (or random) structures, a subject that was completely absent in the first edition, and which appears now for the first time in a second, separate volume. This also explains the change in the title of the present volume, which now includes the subtitle “Volume I: Periodic Layers”. This subtitle has been added to clearly distinguish the present volume from its new companion, which is subtitled “Volume II: Aperiodic Layers”. It should be noted, however, that the new subtitle of the present volume may be somewhat misleading, since this book also treats (in Chapters 10 and 11) moiré effects between repetitive layers, which are, in fact, geometric transformations of periodic layers, that are generally no longer periodic in themselves. The most suitable subtitle for the present volume would therefore have been “Periodic or Repetitive Layers”, but in the end we have decided on the shorter version.

  • Pages : 351 pages

Download or read book The Science of Color written by Steven K. Shevell and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2003-07-11 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Science of Color focuses on the principles and observations that are foundations of modern color science. Written for a general scientific audience, the book broadly covers essential topics in the interdisciplinary field of color, drawing from physics, physiology and psychology. This book comprises eight chapters and begins by tracing scientific thinking about color since the seventeenth century. This historical perspective provides an introduction to the fundamental questions in color science, by following advances as well as misconceptions over more than 300 years. The next chapters then discuss the relationship between light, the retinal image, and photoreceptors, followed by a focus on concepts such as color matching and color discrimination; color appearance and color difference specification; the physiology of color vision; the 15 mechanisms of the physics and chemistry of color; and digital color reproduction. Each chapter begins with a short outline that summarizes the organization and breadth of its material. The outlines are valuable guides to chapter structure, and worth scanning even by readers who may not care to go through a chapter from start to finish. This book will be of interest to scientists, artists, manufacturers, and students.
