Book Random Processes in Nonlinear Control Systems by A A Pervozvanskii

Download or read book Random Processes in Nonlinear Control Systems by A A Pervozvanskii written by A. A. Pervozvanskii and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1965-01-01 with total page 359 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, we study theoretical and practical aspects of computing methods for mathematical modelling of nonlinear systems. A number of computing techniques are considered, such as methods of operator approximation with any given accuracy; operator interpolation techniques including a non-Lagrange interpolation; methods of system representation subject to constraints associated with concepts of causality, memory and stationarity; methods of system representation with an accuracy that is the best within a given class of models; methods of covariance matrix estimation; methods for low-rank matrix approximations; hybrid methods based on a combination of iterative procedures and best operator approximation; and methods for information compression and filtering under condition that a filter model should satisfy restrictions associated with causality and different types of memory. As a result, the book represents a blend of new methods in general computational analysis, and specific, but also generic, techniques for study of systems theory ant its particular branches, such as optimal filtering and information compression. - Best operator approximation, - Non-Lagrange interpolation, - Generic Karhunen-Loeve transform - Generalised low-rank matrix approximation - Optimal data compression - Optimal nonlinear filtering

Book Nonlinear Transformations of Random Processes

Download or read book Nonlinear Transformations of Random Processes written by Ralph Deutsch and published by Courier Dover Publications. This book was released on 2017-11-15 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This concise treatment of nonlinear noise techniques encountered in system applications is suitable for advanced undergraduates and graduate students. The book is also a valuable reference for systems analysts and communication engineers, as it discusses the basic mathematical theories of nonlinear transformations applied to random processes encountered in communications and control systems. Prerequisites include a familiarity with statistics, probability, complex variables, and Fourier and Laplace transforms. The first five chapters present specific classes of nonlinear devices and random processes that in combination lead to closed form solutions for the statistical properties of the transformed process. Subsequent chapters address techniques based on the use of series representations, general systematic approaches to the subject of nonlinear transformations of random processes, and sampling and quantizing a random process. A helpful Appendix features notes on hypergeometric functions.

Book Random Processes for Engineers

Download or read book Random Processes for Engineers written by Bruce Hajek and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2015-03-12 with total page 429 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This engaging introduction to random processes provides students with the critical tools needed to design and evaluate engineering systems that must operate reliably in uncertain environments. A brief review of probability theory and real analysis of deterministic functions sets the stage for understanding random processes, whilst the underlying measure theoretic notions are explained in an intuitive, straightforward style. Students will learn to manage the complexity of randomness through the use of simple classes of random processes, statistical means and correlations, asymptotic analysis, sampling, and effective algorithms. Key topics covered include: • Calculus of random processes in linear systems • Kalman and Wiener filtering • Hidden Markov models for statistical inference • The estimation maximization (EM) algorithm • An introduction to martingales and concentration inequalities. Understanding of the key concepts is reinforced through over 100 worked examples and 300 thoroughly tested homework problems (half of which are solved in detail at the end of the book).

Book Statistical Decision Theory in Adaptive Control Systems

Download or read book Statistical Decision Theory in Adaptive Control Systems written by Yoshikazu Sawaragi and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-06-03 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mathematics in Science and Engineering, Volume 39: Statistical Decision Theory in Adaptive Control Systems focuses on the combination of control theory with statistical decision theory. This volume is divided into nine chapters. Chapter 1 reviews the history of control theory and introduces statistical decision theory. The mathematical description of random processes is covered in Chapter 2. In Chapter 3, the basic concept of statistical decision theory is treated, while in Chapter 4, the method of solving statistical decision problems is described. The application of statistical decision concepts to control problems is explained in Chapter 5. Chapter 6 elaborates a method of designing an adaptive control system. An application of the sequential decision procedure to the design of decision adaptive control systems is illustrated in Chapter 7. Chapter 8 is devoted to the description of a method of the adaptive adjustment of parameters contained in nonlinear control systems, followed by a discussion of the future problems in applications of statistical decision theory to control processes in the last chapter. This book is recommended for students and researchers concerned with statistical decision theory in adaptive control systems.
