Book Raising a American Curl Breed

Download or read book Raising a American Curl Breed written by Rex Lewis and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2024-05-05 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The curled-back ears are a telltale sign of the American Curl, a breed of cat. The following are some important details and traits of the American Curl breed: - It was in 1981 in Lakewood, California, that the first American Curl puppies were born. A stray named Shulamith, who had curled ears, was the first American Curl cat that was known to science. Joe and Grace Ruga, two cat lovers, adopted Shulamith and began selectively breeding her and her progeny to create the breed. - Ear Curl: The American Curl is easily recognizable by its peculiar, inquisitive expression and its ears that curl backwards. The amount of curl differs from person to person, although it usually starts hair grow a few days to weeks after birth. - American Curls are moderate in build, with an elegant, muscular figure. They are available in two different hairstyles: short and long. The short-haired variant is velvety smooth and shiny, while the long-haired one is semi-long and silky. - Head Shape: Their unique head shape is characterized by a soft contour and the absence of severe features. The walnut-shaped eyes are expressive, and the nose is somewhat concave. - Personality: American Curls have a reputation for being incredibly sociable and loving. They are friendly and outgoing toward kids, other animals, and even strangers. They have a lot of brains, lots of energy, and a love for interacting with people. - American Curls are available in an array of colors and patterns. Any color is acceptable, including solids, bicolors, tricolors, and many more. All coat colors are acceptable according to the breed standard with the exception of hybridization indicators like Siamese color points. - Grooming requirements for American Curls vary according to the length of their hair. In order to keep their curls from matting, long-haired curls may need more frequent brushing than short-haired curls. As part of their regular grooming regimen, they must have their teeth brushed, their nails trimmed, and their coats brushed. - American Curls are known for their remarkably healthy lifestyles. But, much like any other breed, they can have inherited susceptibilities to specific diseases. The general well-being of the breed can be assured by conscientious breeding techniques and frequent veterinary examinations. While there are some consistent traits throughout cat breeds, it's vital to remember that every cat is unique in look and behavior. Talk to trustworthy breeders who care about their cats' health and happiness if you're thinking about getting an American Curl.

Download or read book American Curl Cat As Pet written by Brandon Rachel and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2022-02-24 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thanks to their fluffy, curled-back ears, American Curls are one of the most without difficulty identifiable cat breeds today. Although their coats can come in a extensive range of colours and patterns, the special ears of American Curls make them stand out amongst different cat breeds. Today, their backwards-curled ears are a proper trait amongst breeders, however they had been initially the product of a herbal (and harmless) genetic mutation. Despite their incredibly low weight--particularly in females--American Curls are muscular and have medium-sized bones, so they're no longer as refined as their physique weight and size may also at first imply. Their wedge-shaped heads, walnut-shaped eyes, and curled ears provide them a definitely special appearance.

These differences are fascinating to behold and helpful to all those interested in sharing their home with a cat. Found here are more than sixty of the most common breeds and hybrids from around the world.
