Book Radar ECM and ECCM Fundamentals

Download or read book Radar ECM and ECCM Fundamentals written by D .D. Thomas and published by . This book was released on 1987 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From preface: "This booklet originally grew out of a desire to provide information concerning the principles of radar operation, electronic countermeasures (ECM), electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM), and threat systems as an integral part of the environment of electronic combat (EC). The impetus behind this was to develop a source document that explains the basics in simplified terms for individuals who are new to the concepts of EC. Hopefully, we have reduced the information to the point of not inundating the reader with engineering and technological jargon or concepts. It is from our own expertise and knowledge of EC and the data obtained from many sources that this booklet is compiled. These sources include a wide variety of unclassified military publications, in addition to several excellent civilian publications. To all of these we offer our many thanks and our sincere apologies for any errors we may have made in their use. Although this publication may be used by many agencies, the views expressed herein represent those of the editors and reflect their sources of information. These do not in any way reflect policy or direction of the United States Air Force Tactical Air Warfare Center (USAFTAWC), USAF, Department of Defense (DOD) or the United States Government. We hope this booklet will provide enjoyable and informative reading for all."

Book Radar Principles for the Non Specialist

Download or read book Radar Principles for the Non Specialist written by John C. Toomay and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What This Book Is This book is about radar. It will teach you the essentials of radar, the underlying principles. It is not like an engineering handbook which pro vides detailed design equations without explaining either derivation or rationale. It is not like a graduate school textbook which may be abstruse and esoteric to the point of incomprehensibility. And it is not like an anthology of popular magazine articles which may be gaudy but superfi cial. It is an attempt to distill the very complex, rich technology of radar into its fundamentals, tying them to the laws of nature on one end and to the most modern and complex systems on the other. Who It's For If your work requires you to supervise or meet as coequals with radar systems engineers or designers, this book will allow you to understand them, to question them intelligently and perhaps to provide them with a perspective (a dispassionate yet competent view) that they lack. If you are trained in another discipline but have been made the man ager of a radar project or a system program that has one or more radars as sub-systems, this book will provide you with the tools you need, not only to give your team members confidence, but also to make a substantive technical contribution yourself.

Book Principles of Modern Radar

Download or read book Principles of Modern Radar written by Jerry Eaves and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 709 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, Principles of Modern Radar, has as its genesis a Georgia Tech short course of the same title. This short course has been presented an nually at Georgia Tech since 1969, and a very comprehensive set of course notes has evolved during that seventeen year period. The 1986 edition of these notes ran to 22 chapters, and all of the authors involved, except Mr. Barrett, were full time members of the Georgia Tech research faculty. After considerable encouragement from various persons at the university and within the radar community, we undertook the task of editing the course notes for formal publication. The contents of the book that ensued tend to be practical in nature, since each contributing author is a practicing engineer or scientist and each was selected to write on a topic embraced by his area(s) of expertise. Prime examples are Chaps. 2, 5, and 10, which were authored by E. F. Knott, G. W. Ewell, and N. C. Currie, respectively. Each of these three researchers is rec ognized in the radar community as an expert in the technical area that his chap ter addresses, and each had already authored and published a major book on his subject. Several other contributing authors, including Dr. Bodnar, Mr. Bruder, Mr. Corriher, Dr. Reedy, Dr. Trebits, and Mr. Scheer, also have major book publications to their credit.

Book Radar and Electronic Warfare Principles for the Non Specialist

Download or read book Radar and Electronic Warfare Principles for the Non Specialist written by Paul Hannen and published by IET. This book was released on 2013-11-08 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a comprehensive update of the bestselling reference for those who need to learn about radar but have no previous experience. This enhanced and fully revised fourth edition of Radar and Electronic Warfare Principles for the Non-specialist includes five all new sections on electronic warfare and its relationship with radar systems and distills the very complex technologies of radar and electronic warfare into their fundamentals, tying them to the laws of nature on one end and to the most modern and complex systems on the other. It also includes significant revisions to: target signal-to-noise ratio, target detection theory, array antennas, radar measurements and tracking, and target signatures. The advanced radar concepts chapter has also been revised, including the addition of a section on modern multi-function, -mode, -mission radar systems. In addition, there is new EW-related material addressing electronic support (ES), electronic attack (EA), and electronic protection (EP). Most of the chapters are stand-alone allowing the reader to be selective and still benefit from the content. Radar and Electronic Warfare Principles for the Non-specialist is ideal for senior level graduates and can be used as a self-study text for engineers who have no previous radar or EW knowledge or experience.
