L'équité filles/garçons semble être une préoccupation importante des discours sur l'école. Pourtant certaines disciplines comme l'EPS véhiculent des stéréotypes qui peuvent mener à des inégalités de réussite et d'investissement. Dès lors comment favoriser l' équité filles/garçons en EPS ? En psychologie sociale, les travaux de Chalabaev et Sarrazin (2009) ont montré l'existence de liens entre l'adhésion des élèves au stéréotype sexué et leur motivation au collège en EPS. D'autres études ont mis en évidence l'influence de la menace des stéréotypes sur les résultats des filles et des garçons à l'école. Dès lors notre objectif est d'étudier l'impact de cette menace sur la motivation des élèves de primaire en EPS. Notre hypothèse générale suppose que le contenu stéréotypé des consignes impacte la motivation de nos élèves. Dans notre expérimentation qui a été menée auprès de trois classes de CM2, trois conditions différentes ont été mises en place : la première véhiculant un stéréotype masculin (condition physique), la seconde un stéréotype féminin (condition coopérative) et la troisième ne véhiculant pas de stéréotype (condition neutre). Les résultats n'ont montré aucune différence significative entre les conditions du point de vue de la motivation des élèves. Contrairement aux résultats obtenus sur les collégiens, nous pouvons penser que l'aspect ludique de l'activité l'emporte sur les représentations stéréotypées des élèves à l'école primaire. Même si ces résultats peuvent apparaître rassurants, ils ne remettent pas en cause l'importance pour les enseignants de s'interroger sur la prise en compte des différences filles / garçons afin de tendre vers l'équité.

If the metaphor is rich in imagery, complexly differentiated, emotionally evocative, and vitally wedded to the cultural lore, the theory to which it gives rise may enjoy a long and vigorous life. If the metaphor is sufficiently powerful, the theory may even be sustained in independence of systematic empirical support. Role theory is likely to remain prosperous so long as there is a thriving theater; decision theory experienced a dramatic rejuvenation with the development of the electronic computer; and, in spite of its archaic construction, Jungian theory will prevail so long as ancient myths and symbols continue to haunt us (d. Smith, 1978). From this standpoint, the development of social exchange theory is hardly surprising. Ex perience with the marketplace is extensive in society, its images are both complex and richly evocative, its challenges are often exciting and its lessons sometimes painful. It is thus both intellectually and emo tionally invigorating to consider the social arena in all its diversity as an extended market in which each individual seeks to maximize profits. The major role of the Council of Europe and the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) in addressing the new challenges to sports ethics was confirmed by the 11th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport, held in Athens on 11 and 12 December 2008. A political impetus was given on 16 June 2010 by the Committee of Ministers, with the adoption of an updated version of the Code of Sports Ethics (Recommendation CM/Rec(2010)9), emphasising the requisite co-ordination between governments and sports organisations. The EPAS prepared the ministerial conference and stepped up its work in an international conference organised with the University of Rennes, which was attended by political leaders, athletes, researchers and officials from the voluntary sector. The key experiences described in the conference and the thoughts that it prompted are described in this publication. All the writers share the concern that the end result should be practical action - particularly in terms of the setting of standards - that falls within the remit of the EPAS and promotes the Council of Europe's core values.
